I know it's a burger joint so complaining about vegetarian options might not seem legit... but I have to express my disappointment. Here are the options for vegetarians... have the veggie sandwich, as The Habit has created for you, and get a soaking wet bottom bun that falls apart when you try to pick it up and tastes like a dirty sponge... OR substitute a veggie patty on any other of their yummy sounding burgers for $1.74. Yes, that is correct. That means that 'substituting' a veggie patty requires one to pay for the original meat patty (no credit given for the 'substitution'), plus pay full price for the veggie patty. Let's say the meat patty would have cost about $1.26 or so, that makes the veggie patty 3 bucks!! Most places give a credit for the meat patty and the consumer pays the difference for the veggie patty, usually zero to 60 cents. It's simple really and gives the vegetarian all the same menu options as any other customer for whatever the price difference. That said, my outrageously expensive mushroom burger with a veggie patty was delicious! While my husband's soggy veggie sandwich that The Habit offers up to vegetarians was revolting... he also added avocado and it just was a soupy mess that tasted bland and squishy. The fries were not bad and the tempura beans were yummy... So, of our $20+ meal, the mushroom veggie burger was delish, but uber expensive; the tempura beans were very tasty and I might consider going back for those; the fries were just fine; and, the veggie sandwich was a soggy, soupy mess that tasted bland and watery and was very difficult to eat. If your party has a vegetarian among you, I highly recommend trying somewhere else... BTW, we did take the lot on over to Fall River Brewery to eat and have a pint. I have to start out by saying, wow! This place not only has good food but they execute it well. You get a pager that notifies you when your food is ready instead of having people screaming names or numbers. The burgers were delicious and the person at the counter made sure to double check that each ingredient would be ok on each of our burgers, which only took a few extra minutes but insured we got what we wanted. Each person in my family, me, my husband, and our two children, finished every bite. There was a variety of burgers to choose from on the menu, with plenty of other options if burgers aren't what you're after. The only reason i took a star away was because of the noise. The place was packed and rightfully so because it was delicious, but then the music they had playing was extremely loud. Both combined, loud music and loud people, make a place seem too cramped. This place was recommend to us by some locals when we asked where the best place is to get a burger in Redding. From my experience, they were right.The resturant is new, fresh, and clean. Prices are right on the money.Employees were friendly and appeared to be well trained. It was actually fun to watch them. Place was packed so we sat at the large" family style" table with a bunch of strangers, which was fun:). Many went without a seat. Order was cooked quickly . My husband and I each ordered a doublechar cheese burger and they were delicious. Fries were cooked to perfection. My only complaint, and the reason I didn't give 5 stars, is because the chicken nuggets our daughter got were disgusting. They were the most processed tasting and looking nuggets I've ever had. The chicken inside was grayish??? She didn't seem to mind, she is 3. She loved the apples and Apple juice box, and the gummy burger was a hit! The food here is ridiculously unhealthy. The amount of sodium in one of their meals is over the equivalent of the daily recommended value. The wait time to receive your meal is long as well. I have given this place a few tries and I will not be back, there floors are dirty, there tables are dirty, all the employees do is sit around and talk. I brought it to the lady's attention that the floors were disgusting and she made the excuse that kids had eaten there, well if you knew kids ate there why weren't you cleaning when they left. After I told her about she did a half ass job at cleaning the floor but left all the tables dirty - I am assuming she was a manager she had a blue shirt on. I would thank no you would want a CLEAN RESTAURANT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS . if you have time to chit chat you have time to clean and if this is how there management feels about cleaning there establishment I can only imagine what there kitchen looks like .. I will not be back .. I work for the public and if I was told our floors were dirty I would have the extra staff on that floor cleaning ASAP - it's obvious they do t take any pride in there restaurant and nor do their care about there customers to keep it CLEAN .. I guess this is to much to ask and the manager didn't even go farther and clean the tables, as I sit here people are just sitting at dirty tables whipping the dirt on the floor .. disgusting read more

This place is great! We love the food, the service and it's a happening place to be any night of the week. It's rare that my family of 4 can go out to dinner for under $30. I always get the albacore tuna fillet sandwich and it's delicious. My daughter highly recommends the cheese burger and fries my son loves that the kids meals come with crabby Patty's and my husband recommends the onion rings! Finally got a chance to try the Habit. Being a new burger joint in town, it was very busy. Our food didn't take long and was very fresh tasting. We ordered two burger combos and a chicken salad. I liked the fries better than In and Out as well as the flamed cooked burgers. The bacon on my burger was fairly thick and tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the cheese. It tasted pretty fake. Overall we were happy if not blown away, it is just a burger joint. We plan on trying it again though. read more

We were pleasantly surprised when we stopped in at The Habit last night before our movie. Hubby got the BBQ char and I got the Teriyaki char. Both were balanced and juicy. The onion rings are to die for delicious with a crunchy, perfectly seasoned outer layer and soft sweet onion inside. The tempura green beans were super yummy. Just enough of the batter so that its not to much and a dash of salt to bring out the flavor. The dipping ranch could use some work as it was really runny and didn't have a lot of flavor. I got a vanilla milk shake and really enjoyed it. Real ice cream blended perfectly smooth. I would say that we really enjoyed our meal. The prices were good. The calorie counts are right up on the menu so that you can see what you are getting yourself into LOL. My family and I love the habit! But a few weeks ago my husband and I went in at night and I ordered a chicken sandwich, when it was brought to our table my sandwich was cut in half and I looked at it when I was about to take a bite and the inside of the chicken was still goey raw! Not even close to being cooked. I was really surprised. When my husband took it back up to them, they seemed surprised but just made me a new one. No manager came and apologized or anything, that was just shocking to me considering he was at the front counter. The customer service could have been a lot better with this situation. I'm just glad it was cut in half, otherwise I would have probably gotten sick taking a bite out of it. read more

I love the food here and we've always had good service but the reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because there is never anywhere to sit! Especially if it's cold/rainy and the outdoor seating isn't an option. A lot of times we will chose not to go there if it looks to busy because there is nothing worse than standing there with a tray full of hot food with nowhere to eat it. I've eaten here twice since they opened. In-&-Out used to be my burger place but Habit is now my go-to for everything burger and shake related eating. Finally, a place that advertises grilled burgers that are actually grilled to perfection. The lines have always been pretty long but that's what happens when you serve food this great. I decided to take my daughter to the new burger place, this was my firsy visit. There was a line out the door, which I didn't mind since that must mean something good right? I ordered the dbl cheeseburger meal with ketchup and lettuce only. My order took about ten minutes, which I was fine with. I walked up and there was tomato on my burger. I told the girl there was a mistake and she said she would bag up the incorrect burger to go and make me a new one right away. I was surprised and greatful at the wonderful customer service. Then here comes the guy in the purple shirt, a supervisor maybe? He asked me what the problem was and I told him. The nice girl asked him to just bag it up and she had my correct burger cooking, The guy said, can't u just pick the tomato off? I said um, no, I can't. He then proceeded to throw my burger in the trash and put my fries in a bag. I told them my order was for here. The nice girl came back and asked where the burger went, he told her he threw it away and he didn't know we were giving away free burgers today. Talk about awkward... He then told me to "take your fries and we will bring u another burger." I looked at the nice girl, who was apologizing, and I told her it was OK, but wow, this was my first time here... She later came with the correct burger and a coupon for the hassle. That was nice of her to make up for the poor service the man in the purple shirt gave. My overall experience at this restaurant was not good and I will not be returning. First of all I had to wait in line approximately 5 to 10 minutes to get to the cashier to order my food. Then when I got to the cashier to order my food I notice all of the employees preparing the food were not wearing any gloves. They were out in the open preparing the food so everyone could see and none of them have gloves on. There was the man at the grill preparing all the meat and he had raw meat on his bare hands grilling it and that disgusted me. And then there was a female worker that was putting all the condiments on the burgers and she had food all in her hands in and her nails and touching all of the burgers with her bare hands in that grossed me out. After seeing all of that I cannot order any type of hamburger so I ordered a salad. When I receive my salad it was pretty basic and plain and for the price I paid for it nothing I would get again. The sanitation practices at this facility seemed underpar for me and I can never eat there again. read more
