I had lunch at Habit today with my granddaughter. They had a great special added to my Habit ap, a free double burger with a $10 purchase. I bought a chicken club sandwich, an order of fries and my granddaughter had the double burger. The chicken sandwich was very good, and I loved that it had the veggies I wanted in it ( avocado, lettuce and tomatoes) on grilled sour dough bread. The fries were nice and hot, and my granddaughter said she enjoyed the burger. The Habit Burger being voted #1 by USA Today for its chargrilled "charburgers", I do prefer this burger spot especially since it offers sweet potato fries. Kiosks are available for ordering but I prefer to order at the counter. That said, I ordered my usual Double Char meal with sweet potato fries ;) Includes a drink, I got Pepsi this time though I typically get Sprite or Starry. Also got a strawberry shake. Came by to redeem my birthday charburger and this is my first time at this location. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday afternoon but food still was received in a timely manner and the food was prepared right especially the fried food = hot, crispy, and minimal oil dripping out of the food. The salad was huge but mostly lettuce and the Ahi Tuna sandwiches were prepared / served with a bun which should have been on sourdough. This is the problem with kiosk ordering the original way the sandwich was prepared on sourdough and should be the default way served even though the tuna tasted good the sourdough IMO elevates the sandwich not only in presentation but taste. Decided to stop by Habit before watching a movie. I normally have a good experience when visiting this restaurant, especially with the location in Elk Grove. However, the customer service at the Delta Shores location was very disappointing. I ordered two chicken club sandwiches (one with just chicken for my mom), tempura green beans, and onion rings. The onion rings and tempura green beans were on point and were very crispy. The chicken sandwich was overall solid and a highlight was the bread being well toasted. However, they got the sandwiches mixed up and the plain sandwich with just chicken had onions on it and the other sandwich had no onions. When my mom brought this up to the cashier's attention, the lady was very combative and accused my mom of lying and stated that a lot of people say these type of comments to get a free meal. She told my mom to physically bring the sandwich to the register so that she can see for herself if it had onions. My mom was irritated at this point and told me what was going on. I was furious and brought the sandwich up to the cashier to show them their mistake and the lady said "ok, so you want onions?" I kept my cool and told her no. I told her I just wanted to show that it was their mistake and that we weren't making up lies to get a free meal. I did not receive any apologies at all. We came here as a group for a work team meeting and decided to place a large to go order for lunch, and even with all 11 of us ordering at once, the staff stayed incredibly friendly and upbeat the entire time. Everyone was smiling and patient, and I believe the manager was there as well. She was especially kind and really made the whole experience feel welcoming. I ordered the garden ranch with chicken, and it honestly surprised me in the best way. The chicken was tender and juicy, the lettuce was crisp and fresh, the bacon added the perfect little crunch. Pretty decent far as burgers and sandwiches go. My little family took me here for a casual Father's Day lunch. We ordered 2 bbq chicken half-sandwich meals which comes with a side each and I ordered fries with mine, which unfortunately, were undercooked and my wife ordered the tempura green beans which was well done and quite delicious, and the meals came with drinks too, and our kids went and filled up the cups with hibiscus tea which tasted ok, and the strawberry lemonade which was a bit on the sweet side, but still very delicious. The first Habit I'd ever been to was in Ventura, CA back in 2003. Fun fact- it was the second Habit location ever! (The first was in Goleta). Why I specifically remember it, they had delicious char burgers and split grilled hot dogs with surfboard decor perfect for that beach town. Great after a day at ocean. As the chain expanded north the offerings were more hit or miss, and it was kind of off my radar lately It had been over two years since I'd been here and I was prompted to revisit this location after getting an offer from the app for a free chicken club with a $2 purchase. I'm a sucker for free food, so we ordered on the app the free sandwich and a classic char burger with a side of onion rings. I had eaten two kosher dill pickle spears and two cups of coffee (don't ask) so by 3 pm fair to say I was starving. The chicken club knocked me out. So delicious! The cook should get a gold medal of the culinary Olympics. Savory marinated grilled chicken was accompanied by lettuce, tomato, avocado, and crispy bacon. It was enveloped in crispy griddled sourdough bread. The flavors, textures, and freshness were five stars! My sidekick had the char burger and he commented on how well made every component was and how it held together well (bun, burger, grilled onions, Mayo, shredded lettuce, pickle, tomato). I love onion rings and I let myself have a few with ranch. Absolutely scrumptious. Well, I will definitely be back for the chicken club. It's a sandwich home run made with attention to detail. We had a really pleasant experience here today! I wish we got the guy's name but he was so kind to our kids and gave an extra applesauce and juice for our daughter since we got our kids one kids meal to share. I liked that they had a lot of choices for the kids meal as far as sides besides fries, and drink options. It even comes with a little gummy treat at the end. I'll never buy from habit for delivery. They don't offer a way to substitute items, if you call them they send you to corporate. I tried calling to ask for mayonnaise on the side and they refused, saying the actual store doesn't have their own phone line. Turns out none of the stores will let you call to make any substitutetion, even if it's free. They recommended I go down to the store to tell them I want mayo on the side. We ordered their Kids Crispy Chicken Bites, the Chicken Club with Sweet Potato Fries and being on a healthy kick lately, I decided to try one of their salads - the Grilled Chicken Salad. The food was just mediocre, nothing special. I'd much rather pay less at In n Out and know I am getting better food. I used to come here often, especially when in and outs drive thru can get pretty long and I've always enjoyed their burgers but lately they have declined drastically. Food has been under or over cooked and just overall soggy and unappealing. My recent order I had a Santa Barbara char and the meat was chewy and hard in some spots and had an odd taste, the sour dough bread wasn't toasted and just really soggy. My sons chicken sandwich was over cooked. The outside breading was wayyyy to crispy and hard. And our onion rings were equally over cooked.
