I've heard great things about The Habit, but this was my first chance to try it! I was pleased overall, but I'm not ready to give it 5-stars yet. I grabbed the special, which was a French onion Charburger. The grilled onions and special sauce was truly amazing. My only regret was that I couldn't eat 5 of them in a row. The bun was a bit over toasted, making the burger kinda crunchy, but not unbearable. I liked the spice bar (or whatever you call it) that had pepperoncinis- nice bonus! I'm eager to try out a couple other things on the menu, so I'll be back! I did think the (Men's) restroom layout was rather odd. This place has a pretty good burger and decent fries. They do have onion rings which are a huge plus. That said, the burgers are not to the level of other "fast but slower" burger joints like five guys or in and out. They are good and a better option than McDonalds, but don't expect to be Wow'ed...at least I wasn't. read more

I have taken others here and everyone feels the same way about this place. Ate at the Habit for my first time a few days ago and really enjoyed it. The place is clean, well managed, and the food is great. We seemed to get our food in a timely manner and the heated outdoor seating is very enjoyable (for the evenings). My only complaint was the music outside was really loud. Service: The cashier at the counter was extremely friendly and patient. I'd never been there and told her, then she helped me navigate the options. The entire staff seemed to be friendly, in general. I was pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful place for dinner on my travels. I was thrilled to find such great food prepared in such a wonderful manner. I had the tri tip with grilled onions, fried onion rings, and a chocolate shake. Fantastic. Also, my girlfriend had the chicken sandwich and Cole slaw and said the chicken was different than she's ever had before but in a good way, she wants to go back for more. Be careful getting your to-go order at this place. We had an order for 7 different people. They forgot to include any dressing for my Cobb salad. Which o specifically requested extra dressing for. Did not include the requested dressing for my father in-laws salad. And also did not include my sons chocolate milk. We live 15 minutes across town. Their only solution was to come back an d pick up the issuing items. At today's gas prices my meal would have been over proced at that point. Not to mention waiting my time as a customer. The habit is a favorite of my wife and I. We are glad we live only 1mile away. Come here for burgers ( OF COURSE!). But their ranch is AWESOME WITH FRIES! Salads are pretty good. Love he albacore as well. Only draw back to this establishment is the line. They only have 2 registers and it get busy fast. I noticed that even when it's busy they commonly have only one register. The food and service at this location is awesome! My wife and eat at The Habit more often than I'd like to admit. We do go to this one more frequently because its close to home. The employees and manager are very nice and helpful. One thing I've notice is that Mike, the manager, is always working hard to ensure the customers are helped quickly. He is often helping to cook to get the food out. When things catch up he is at the register. Then when the line was gone he was working on training staff. I've worked in the restaurant business and it helps to have a good crew when the manager sets a positive example. We'll be back soon! read more

Would be 0 stars if that was an option. I had a "Thanks for registering on the app" free char burger, this is the first time the app has worked. When I tried to redeem it, I couldn't because it is for mobile orders only, (which it doesn't say on the app) and this location doesn't do mobile orders. Simple order Santa Barbara Char Burger combo instead, the fries had so much salt on them it looked like a diamond ring. When I asked the manager for fries with no salt she questioned me why and I told her there was so much salt on the fries it tasted like a salt lick. I watched the employee pour 5 seconds of salt on a small order of fries in the mixing bin as I talked to her. I tried to get some iced black tea and it was empty, I tried vitamin water which was also out, I ended up getting rootbeer that tasted watered down. I ended up leaving with no fries, and when I told the manager to forget about the fries she stated "oh I forgot about them." When I got home I realized there was no avocado on the burger either. The other person with me had a salt lick fry order as well & both of our burgers had so much salt on them they had a spicy zing on the tongue. I got the SB Dbl wit Avacado an bacon and it was sub par. Patties were "Tiny" and had minimal taste. Fries were average(Not 5 guys). Finally tried this place the other day. I ordered the double charburger and a chocolate shake. It was at dinner service and was fairly crowded. Service was fairly quick and very friendly. I just ate here today! I ordered a Cesar salad with tri-tip and a side of chicken with avocado. I also ordered a regular char burger with everything on it and two fries for my mother. We both loved the customer service and the food. The tri-tip was very juicy, rich, and chewy. The chicken was great grilled. The char-burger was not too dry and not too soggy and it tasted great with the grilled onions. Also, the wait wasn't that long I was in and out for about five minutes.
