Came here to catch up with friends and it ended up being the perfect low-key spot. The cocktails were so yummy -- well-balanced, not overly sweet, and crafted just right. You can tell they actually care about what they're serving. We also shared a charcuterie board, which was delicious and beautifully put together. Great mix of flavors and perfect for grazing while sipping drinks. The wine selection wasn't huge, but honestly it didn't take away from the experience. It's more about the vibe here -- quiet, relaxed, and ideal for real conversations without having to shout over music. Definitely a solid go-to if you're looking for a chill night out with good drinks and good company.

First time here thanks to my Yelp buddy and longtime friend Daniel . C . Since we were heading down to Dave @ Buster for the Yelp event . Daniel mentioned since we were early lets have a drink at Habitant Habitant is located on the 2nd floor in Nordstrom. I never knew this place existed because I normally don't shop at Nordstrom lol . Nice little bar located right in the middle of the sakes floor of the women's department nice atmosphere and very smart let the women shop while the men can have a drink at the bar and catch a game in tv . We bumped into Allen .N so us three had a quick cocktail before heading downstairs to the Yelp event . They also have a pretty good pupu menu . Support local

Nice bar right in the middle of Nordstrom! Cool ambiance as you are in the middle of a dept store. Service is great but happy hour gets busy so come early. Limited selection of food - as it should be for a bar. However, they are good and even better when paired with drinks. All except for the poke was good. Poke was too salty. But the high fashion made up for it. Not sure if Nordstroms on the major cities at the mainland have this but definitely cool spot to check out of you're visiting Ala Moana.

Nordstrom Double Beef Burger $18 sub regular fries for truffle fries with truffle aioli $2

This place fills up with shoppers who want to take a break soon after they open. I got here around 11:45 am and was able to snag the comfy seats to have lunch and a drink with my gal pal. It's a nice open area and not too bad for a quick bite to eat. We both bordered the Nordstrom Double Beef Burger $18 and substituted regular fries for the truffle fries with truffle aioli for $2. The fries and aioli were amazing, but I didn't care much for the burger itself. It was just a regular old burger but the service and yummy fries are what make me give it the stars I did. So if you want something quick to eat or to just have a cocktail or glass of wine this is the place to stop on over to.

We've been here several times since Father's Day and it's honestly still one of our favorite places to go - now that we've had a few experiences I wanted to share some of the names of the employees who were really great I'm pretty sure Zac is the one who helped us on Father's Day and just want to make sure he knows how grateful we are for making that a special day! Greg! He is one of my favorite servers at this place. He's so nice and remembered us when we returned. It's always a pleasure whenever we get him at our table! Ku'ulei was also very nice and a pleasure to interact with during our most recent visit. This restaurant has great food that we can always count on. And all of these employees deserve to be recognized because there's nothing worse than terrible service with mean or rude servers - I used to work in the food industry as one and I know how difficult it can be to be a server, so I really respect these individuals for doing such a great job and being able to create good moments for me and my husband that seems genuine and not fake, they seem to enjoy where they work - anyway without that type of energy it wouldn't be the place it is and they should be honored for that.

Quick service, super yummy food, and located in Nordstrom so super convenient! We were a last minute party of 6 and the staff were super helpful with finding us an area to sit in. Food is awesome. Try everything!

It's been a while since I been to Habitant. The last time I went was before Covid. Habitant is located on the third floor of Nordstrom in Ala Moana. It is like a little bar area in the middle of the shopping place next to the escalators. I used to dine here for lunch since this place was not busy and it accepted orders from Ruscello's full menu. Their bar food menu would also changes seasonally, where I would mainly order from. They also used to serve coffee that was refillable and it was a pretty good cup of coffee. Now, this place is packed and there's a short waiting time of 10 minutes or less. Their bar food menu hasn't changed for a while. I been checking their menu on the Nordstrom website and it hasn't been updated for a few years. Anyways, I recently went back and a lot has changed. There were more tables than before. They no longer have the short lounge tables and cushioned chairs. They also no longer serve coffee which was disappointing but understandable since they have an Ebar that sells coffee. I tried their bar menu and it was pretty much taken from Ruscello's menu. There was no originality anymore. Cilantro lime chicken tacos: There are 4 appetizer size tacos. It's pretty good. I like the citrusy flavor from the lime vinaigrette. I also love cilantro. Nordstrom double beef burger: A lot of reviews were recommending this burger. The burger looks good in appearance but it didn't taste as good. The double patty was very dry and it tasted exactly like the generic patty you can buy at the frozen food aisle of Costco or Walmart. The aioli and melted cheese helps with the dryness but it still didn't help with the overall flavor. I do appreciate the amount of pickles on the burger. The fries and the two dipping sauces on the sides were good. Wished there were more fries. Jumbo lump crab dip: Not a good crab dip. First, the overall dip has a strong odor. Second, the crab was very dry and it was not fresh. It tasted smelly. Third, the baguette slices on the side were very hard and inedible. We left this dish alone. Plantation ice tea: I ordered the plantation ice tea since they no longer serve coffee. The ice tea was very good. It wasn't watered down and wasn't too sweet, which was perfect. It was also refillable. Overall, this place is not as good as how it was back then (pre-Covid). You can still order from the full Ruscello's menu if there are no tables available there. It's great to see that the Habitant is way busier than before though. However, there were only two people working on that day. One person was a bartender and the other was the server. They were pretty packed so both the bartender and server were hardworking and moving around non-stop to accommodate all guests. It would be better if the Habitant would hire an extra person to help out.

Love the vibe. My husband and I were just shopping and the vibe of this place just invited us in and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food and drinks were! Service is def better on the weekends than a week night. Ahi poke was great! Spinach artichoke dip is a must! Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata is also a must! Their Double Beer Burger was delish! So savory and good flavor to it. Cilantro Lime Chicken tacos were good too. Gotta go back to try the remaining items on their menu lol Oh and their drinks are great! I don't see a current menu but I got the mezcal based cocktail and aeropol spritzer and loved both!

Habitant is a bar located inside Norstrom by the escalator. I was happy to get a drink and hangout here with my daughter finally. When we visited it was pretty packed only because it was during the World Series baseball with so many Ohtani's fan. They have good pupus and it's a nice place to unwind.

    Edith S.

Worried they would be busy as always as this was during lunch. To my surprise, it wasn't. So many seats available we didn't know where to sit and so we opted to sit at the end of the bar. A nice and relaxed atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon. The servers were great and the food was delivered quickly which we're glad about since we were hungry. Saw that someone ordered the burger and had it cut in half so we ordered the same along with the tacos. The food was really good along with my spirit-free lilac fizz. Cost of food also very reasonable. We were out of there in less than 30-minutes. Great service, food and customer service serves 5-stars.

    Polenta fries. Alright.
    Rebecca T.

It's located inside Nordstrom and you dine with mannequins. Lol. Their burgers were pretty good. We were also able to order from the restaurant upstairs and I got to try their mushroom pasta that I was looking forward to because I love mushrooms. However, it was a bit of a disappointment as there wasn't enough mushrooms and mushroom flavor in the pasta; I appreciate the amount of veggies though. The polenta fries were just OK as well. We were just finishing it coz we didn't wanna waste food. The service was decent. The food came out promptly as well. The food was nothing memorable. It's a nice spot to sit down if you're tired of shopping I guess?

Great service by Ryan! The Amelia drink was so good! Like a blackberry lemonade. And the fries were so crispy and thin and have an amazing aioli to go with it.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

The server didn't come for about 10 minutes where I asked to be moved. I was moved to a covered table and we got a new server where we promptly ordered. My sons kids meal came out and his tenders were actually delicious as well as the fries . My food took over 20 minutes to arrive only after I made eye contact with my server and he rushed to the back to grab my food, I'm guessing he had forgotten about it because my short rib arrived cold. Like literally cold to the touch. The mashed potatoes were warm and those were great as well as the veggies . I didn't complain because nobody ever came back to check us on or offer a refill or anything . To pay was a hassle also as they only had 1 server helping and he was tied up with a big table for over 20 minutes that was arguing how to split up a bill. I eventually flagged down a bartender and she went and grabbed my original server from the back. The whole night things kept going wrong . I did have a mai tai earlier in the day from their happy hour which was great but dinner is a no-go for me here now.

That's a shame because it has the potential to be very good. When you start with a cocktail concept that is deliberately kept low key with no signage, and a drink menu that rotates and evolves, you have a pretty good floor to start. Having a cozy place to settle in and being able to enjoy food from Chris Kajioka should give 430 Pkwy a high ceiling. If you like an espresso martini try something a little different. Their Espressing My Love batches espresso with Averna, black walnut bitters, and a unique monkeypod syrup. Unfortunately, there is no espresso machine so you cannot get fresh drawn espresso to make a Carajillo the way Cafe Miro use to. The ahi brioche is a carry over from all Chris Kajioka places. The grilled cheese is excellent. Hotdogs are kicked up - it used to be a black truffled miso chicken sausage but the current one is a little different. The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Fix that problem and this place would rock.

Apparently you're normally supposed to put a coin in to open the secret door, but it's broken right now, so the whole vending machine just swings right open. Slightly less secret, but still very cool. Inside is where this place really shines. Moody lighting, a giant orange tree in the middle of the room, Japanese hip hop playing in the background (I want to steal this entire playlist), and extremely cool and friendly servers and bartenders. I've been to a few other attempted "speakeasies" in Honolulu, but most are basically just dark bars with a fun door or code word. Wild Orange actually has the VIBES to make the whole concept work. Definitely worth coming just to hang out and chill. They have a full bar and an extensive specialty cocktail menu. Tried the Purple Dragon, made with ube liqueur and coconut cream. Very sweet--a little TOO sweet for my taste--but tasty and pretty. Probably should have listened to the menu and kept it as a shot, but I wanted something I could sip on for a while and chill. The Umeshu Highball was also very pretty and tasty. My friend who works as a sake distributor was impressed with their selection of good sake, so of course we had to order a bottle. Our server brought it out in an ice bucket, kept it off to the side, and completely served it for us throughout. Very classy. The food menu is fun and creative, but unfortunately not really for me because it's entirely vegan. Most times, but ESPECIALLY when I'm drinking, I want MEAT. Tried the Wild Musubi, a vegan Spam musubi. I'm not actually sure what the "meat" was. Possibly fried tofu? Whatever it was, it was definitely a passable alternative, but would have been 100x better if it were just plain old Spam. It also falls victim to what I find is a common problem with vegan attempts at Japanese food: anything teriyaki ends up being way too treacly sweet without actual meat or seafood to ground it in reality. Also tried the Char Siu Tofu Bao, fried tofu in a red Chinese-style char siu sauce on fluffy white buns. Again, fun and certainly not bad, but these would be 1000x better with actual pork. If Wild Orange had this exact same creative food menu but carnivore edition, this place would probably be 7/5 stars for me. That being said, I know being vegan will actually be a huge draw for some people, and I appreciate that the food is creative rather than just the usual sad vegan afterthoughts. Parking is pretty easy by Honolulu standards. It's inside Hawaiian Brian's, so there's a large shared parking lot. That being said, you might still have trouble finding a spot during peak gym hours since you're competing with all the 24 Hour Fitness customers. All in all, I LOVE this place. Definitely a fun stop--first, middle, only, or nightcap--on a chill night out. Will absolutely be adding Wild Orange into the rotation of places to bring out-of-town guests when I want to impress them with something cool and different. The vegan menu probably means it'll be a couple-times-a-year place for me rather than a regular haunt. But for drinks, service, atmosphere, and pure VIBES? 20/10.
