It was kind of a random fluke that I came in here earlier... one, I was in the area, two, I wanted something different. Plus I had been challenged to write 100 Yelp reviews in 2017, so I needed new material. I came in with mom earlier, I think around 4-ish. They weren't busy, but that didn't surprise me given the time. We were immediately greeted and seated. Our waitress took our drink orders and brought chips and salsa. My mother complained to me the salsa wasn't chunky enough. She prefers pico de gallo. Ok, random complaint, not directed at our waitress, or even expecting something be done about it. It was more of an observation. Our waitress apparently heard my mother. She returns to our table with a bowl of salsa, that has more chunks of tomato and onions in it. I was impressed right there! Since my mother didn't address our waitress directly with this complaint, she wasn't expecting anything to be done about it. The waitress could've completely ignored it and been fine. We ordered a small nacho appetizer. They have a half price special on several of their appetizers from 2-6pm. It was actually really good. I also ordered the tortilla soup. I judge all Mexican restaurants on their soup. Any idiot can make a taco or enchilada. It's the soup that really tells me about a restaurant. I loved it here. It reminded me of Chapala's soup, which is like my favorite. Perfect. The broth was a rich, dark, flavorful chicken base. They use fajita chicken, and gobs of cheese! Oh, the cheese. Lol. I ordered flautas and mom ordered an enchilada. By the time we finished the appetizer and soup, we were stuffed, plus chips and salsa. I couldn't eat any more or I would explode. Our waitress comes over to tell me our food would be out shortly. At that time, I decided I needed a box to take it home. I wasn't attempting to eat any more. She said it was in the salamander heating up, so she wasn't sure if they could box it in there or not. Not a big deal. I said if they can't, just bring a box with you and I'll let the plate cool and take care of it. She returned with a fresh soda in a to-go cup, a bag with our food all boxed up and ready to go, plus the check. It was only $31 and mom and I both had plenty to eat tomorrow. Would I return? Yes, the food was good and the service was excellent. That stood out to me the most, the service. I asked my husband what he thought and he said the same thing. I don't know if they were just trying to save money but the portion was small for 15.99. I had been there before and it was great. They even hug my mom (who is now a regular since I introduced my folks here) every time she comes in. The restaurant is always clean and the decor is lovely. We recently visited on a very busy night. We were told the wait would be 40 minutes for a table for 2. The wait was much shorter, much to our surprise. We were brought drinks, chips and salsa very quickly. We are both vegans and had lots of questions. We learned that the refried beans have lard but the whole pinto and whole black beans do not. I had the veggie fajitas with whole pinto beans and my wife had spinach enchiladas with no dairy and also the pinto beans. Both were so delicious! The fajitas were onions, peppers, carrots, zucchini and mushrooms. Flour or corn tortillas, beans, the best Mexican rice I've ever had, quacamole and pico. The service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was super fresh and delicious. Trying to locate and we called the restaurant. She was just as clueless as we were to locate restaurant. We arrived and there were maybe two customers. Instead of seating us she decided to have this long conversation with a customer. She truely lacked the hostess skillset. After a time we decided to walk across the street to 5 guys. We wernt disappointed. Its a shame cause we drove crosstown on a friends recommendation. We arrived on a Thursday about 6 pm and as we entered, someone called our attention that someone would be right with us. That's a good sign. Our setting was fine and very quickly we had chips salsa and waters. There is So much to choose, even vegan picks. Our server was so nice and had a great smile every time she interacted with us. The food was very good! And a special Rum drink 12 bucks, was killer. Oh, and they even asked if we needed more chips and salsa for the three of us. We were staying at the nearby Best Western and used Yelp to find something close for dinner and without driving. We ended up here and were glad we did. We were seated immediately and had water in a minute and chips and salsa in three minutes. Orders were taken by an attentive waiter. The food came fast and was all good. My guest has the mole and loved it. I had the Los Contende (coconut battered shrimp and shrimp enchilada), and it was really good, including the rice and beans. I had the Mexican Mojito and it was really good and perfect on a steamy warm evening. Two adults and two kids and we left with a total, 20% tip included, at $82, so not bad at all. Good and spicy food. The battered Chile Rellano is delicious. The waitresses are super nice, pretty, and very caring. The decorations are beautiful and I like the Santa they had up for Christmas. The beverages are good. The prices are fair and decent. I am looking forward to trying more food there such as enchiladas, Chile Verde, Chile, Colorado, and other products. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.... I would like to leave a negative -5 star. The manager/owner was rude and a dismissive when we called because they served my son a soaking wet quesadilla covered in raw limp greasy potatoes masquerading as fries. The tortilla of the quesadilla was slimy and my son has sensory issues with his food so he wouldn't eat it. My sister had partly raw shrimp and partly burned shrimp, and limp greasy raw potatoes with her meal as well. We spent over $100 on this order, we only asked them to do something about the meals that were inedible but got told that they weren't going to lose money or remake the food in a satisfactory manner. It's decent VERY Americanized Mexican food. My very big NO NO is room temperature food. I couldn't eat my food in the restaurant because it wasn't hot. In a sit down restaurant, you expect to wait. I have been in the industry over 30 years. I am okay with waiting for my food. If I expect speed of service, I will go to Taco Bell. Also, I shouldn't have to repeatedly ask for water. Always a decent place to go for good Mexican food. I think that the only reason I would give this place a solid 3 instead of 4 is that although the service is quite amazing, the portions are just way too much with a lot of cheese and sour cream. The atmosphere is nice and casual and an easy place to get a table. As said, the service is great and they do a good job. But the food is just about average. Service was okay and the food was okay. When I got my check I was charged $3.50 for a small soda water. When I pointed out to the server the charge for soda water she assured me that was correct. I told her that her tip went towards the $3.50 charge for water with bubbles. I won't be going back. Well to my pleasant surprise, the food choices were excellent, the taste mouth watering, the service to die for. It's not your upscaled resturant however you'll get your money's worth. I have to say the food is fabulous! The flavor is just perfect. I found the food to be full of flavor not just masked with heat/spice-it blended perfectly. They offer chips and salsa to start. The chips are thick(but not to much) and they were warm-the salsa lacks something to be desired. More heat then flavor, but... The staff was friendly, there was a bit of a language barrier to be had but nothing to blink at. The only complaint we might have was it seemed we were being rushed out the door. But I'm not sure if it was that, or they were just trying to anticipate our needs. (Oh and the bar drinks are little on the spendy side $8.50 for a drink. ) Over all it was great. So, this is really another Los Dos Amigos location. Same menu, prices and food. The food is good, but not necessarily special. I will say that I did not care for the seafood burrito, but it's more about personal preference than it was about the quality of the food. I was looking for something unusual, and I got it. I probably won't have it again as the texture was kind of mushy and the flavors were all really sweet... yes, sweet. No spice here at all. Had to add salsa to make it palatable to me. Service was good. The waiter was quite friendly and made several contacts with us throughout the meal to see that we had everything we needed. Everything else we ordered was good. Not excellent, but good. With all the choices in the area, it is not likely that I will stop here again, at least not until I've exhausted other options. We loved this place! The host wanted to seat us at a half booth type table, which my husband hates, so we asked to be seated in a regular booth. No problem! He simply took us to a booth we liked. My husband ordered the Macho Burrito and loved every bite. My chicken Enchiladas la Crema didn't disappoint! Their portions are huge, but that's no surprise. It seems like every Mexican restaurant has large portions. The hubs had his go to Mexican restaurant drink, the margarita. It was very good and made with quality tequila. Our waitress recommended their Hacienda Rita for me. What a tasty drink! The drinks is fruity, but not too sweet, and the glass is rimmed with a Cajun spice mixture that's not too spicy, but gives the drink a special umph. We look forward to our next visit. read more

I had the special Verde Enchilada. Two average sized enchiladas, beans and rice. I liked the rice it was moist and had flavor. Pinto beans were average. The meat in the enchilada was a little dry but not bad. I never think they add enough verde into the meat but thats just my taste style. The salsa is mild and very tasty; I ate 3 bowls! Although the water is unfiltered-- the price was right at $6.99 All in all a good performance.... We had a Groupon coupon we purchased before Covid and decided to venture out and use it. My guest and I started with Cadillac margaritas for $11 ea. They were very disappointing. Little flavor, a splash of tequila, and tasted watered down. I ordered Tres Amigos Especial for $20 which was to include grilled skirt steak and marinated chicken breast and garlic marinated shrimp. The skirt steak was less than an eighth inch thick and tough, the chicken breast was equally thin without mush tenderness. My dinner guest ordered Fiesta Mexicana which had skirt steak and shrimp. The skirt steak was the same as in my dish, thinner than beef jerky and tough. The shrimp was bland. The dinner was very disappointing considering without our coupon dinner was close to $60. I was thrilled to know that this place that is associated with Los Dos Amigos was so near my work. Every time I have an opportunity to come here I always get the pollo ala crema. Every time I get this dish and each time it hasn't disappointed. The lunch prices are great and reasonable for the amount of food you get. The interior is nice and not over done with murals or mexican trinkets. The service is also great. Never had to ask for a refill on my soda nor salsa. They just bring it. This was my favorite place to go for over a year but last week my experience was very poor. I have been getting my favorite drink here on weekends and it has always been 7.00 standard price for a 16 oz coctail. I was shocked when my bill at the door was 32.00 for one 8.00 snack and 2 drinks!!! I understand price increase do to covid and such but there was no warning or menu that this drink was now 12.00 each!!! I was also put off by the fact that I was told I could not sit at 3 open outdoor tables and or the empty bar?? Worst experience I ever had there and 12.00 for a standard drink is just Crazy!!! I will miss the drink but I will no longer be spending my money here. Sucks that the best places are price gouging in this manner. I can see a price increase of a dollar or even 1.50 but 12.00 for a 1 liquior beverage is insane unless it is some kind of black tie steak house. I think it is unfair to not have these huge price increases printed on a menu? A regular customer that has been getting the same things for some time should know before hand that the price was not only increased but flat out doubled. So dissapointed!!! read more

No complaints on the timely manner of delivery. The package on the hot foods was great too. I have a recommendation on one thing. I love hard shell tacos. Every delivery comes with soggy shell due to condensation from the food. How about switching it up, put the taco shells in a paper bag like they do with chips, and the fixings separately. read more
