Our party of six was seated at 4:50 p.m., and we planned to order Happy Hour margaritas before dinner. Our waitress arrived a few minutes before 5:00 p.m. and took our orders but quickly returned to say the ordering system would not accept them because Happy Hour had ended. I showed her on my iPhone that it was exactly 5:00 p.m. and reminded her that our orders had been placed before 5:00 p.m. She replied, "I'm sorry, but do you still want the margaritas?" It seems reasonable that she could have asked a manager to review the situation and override the system so we could receive the Happy Hour price. Instead, the experience suggested that the restaurant's staff training could use a stronger focus on customer satisfaction. I ordered two enchiladas and a taco. The food had good flavor, but the enchiladas had very little filling and were dry. Others in our group ordered fajitas, salmon, and a quesadilla, which they seemed to enjoy. Conversation was difficult because of the loud music and poor room acoustics. Overall, there are better places to spend your money and enjoy a good meal. read more

Food, decor, and service are, in a word, impeccable! We've done both done-in and takeout and we've never been disappointed. Family and I have had their ceviche de camaron, sopecitos trio, taquitos, molcajete, ribeye, camarones al mojo de ajo, taco salad, kids steak taco meal, churros and volcan de chocolate, and every.single.one was a hit. Also had their Margaritas trio and sangria - top notch! When dining in, everyone checks in on you regularly, food comes out fairly quickly, and so much detail and attention was paid to the furniture, lights, tableware, music, etc. Takeout was ready when they said it would be. Tuesday @ 5:30. Approached hostess stand and requested a table for four. We were asked if we had reservations, which we did not, and were then seated right away. I just found it curious to be asked. Wouldn't the average person state that they had reservations if they did? Anyway, we were seated at a very nice table nestled in the middle of a very lovely dining room. There were large decorative pillows in each chair. They were very pretty to look at, but very uncomfortable to sit on. We removed them, and placed them on the floor. We waited just under five minutes before someone dropped off chips and salsa, and then another five minutes before our server approached. He had a very strong accent, and he spoke very quietly ( and the music was very loud)...so none of us could make out a word he said. He then walked away before we could indicate that we were ready to order. He returned about ten minutes later to actually take our order. We ordered a Burrito Bandera, a Burrito Macha, a Classic Chimichanga, and an Arroz con Pollo. The food arrived in around 15 minutes, and it all looked beautiful. I only wish it had tasted as good as it looked. Nothing was bad; it just wasn't that good. I had the Burrito Macha. It was very dry. It would appear the chicken was dark meat (which was not noted on the menu), and it was very gamey tasting. Hubby loved his Arroz con Pollo. The other two diners indicated their food was just ok. They both complained that their food was dry. "Nothing special" Our server never checked in on us...not once. I wanted to get some salsa to add to my dry meal, but nobody came by, so I ate it as it was. When we were done, somebody came by and cleared every last item off our table...EVERYTHING including water glasses, beverage glasses, every plate, every utensil, every napkin, the chips....EVERYTHING! It was clear they wanted us to leave. Our waiter brought the check at this time. Then, he hovered around us waiting for us to pay. It was all very uncomfortable. If you've ever been "rushed" out of a restaurant, you know what I'm talking about. We will not return, and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately, our first experience at this restaurant was disappointing. We were looking forward to trying it, but some of the food lacked flavor and the overall flavor profile simply did not meet our expectations. We were also there to celebrate a birthday and had indicated that it was a special occasion. What was especially disappointing was finding out that the restaurant would not acknowledge or accommodate the birthday unless we purchased a cake through them. Since this was our first time there, we had no idea this was their policy, and unfortunately the birthday went completely unrecognized. For a restaurant where people come to celebrate special occasions, better communication and even a small acknowledgment would have made a difference. Omg killer food!! My husband kept saying he wanted to go try it but we weren't ready after working in the yard so he opted to order and pick up. We both got taco salads. He got the regular beef and I got the chicken tinga which was much more flavorful! He already said next time he'd definitely get that. Both were good though. We came here for a Friday lunch and we were immediately taken aback by the beautiful space. We all agreed that we felt like we were transported to a tropical resort and we didn't feel like we were in Bolingbrook anymore! I made reservations and it was probably a good idea because the place was hopping even for lunch time. They offered their regular menu as well as a lunch menu to choose from. I opted for the steak and eggs on the lunch menu and my friend and I shared the margarita flight. The skirt steak that I got was so tender and flavorful. My eggs were cooked perfectly. It also came with some potatoes and tortillas. It was perfect for lunch. The margarita flight came with 3 different margaritas. Since it's was lunch time, it was nice that my friend and I shared it and we got to try a little bit of everything. If you haven't been, I highly recommend visiting. The space is gorgeous and our server was amazing! The price was also decent considering the whole experience. read more

Real review for Hacienda Real in Bolingbrook -- for real, I really love this place! Vibe is so good, staff is friendly and nice and they actually greet you when you walk in. Great food reasonably priced. The service was good could have been better if more waiters had been working. It could have been due to us dining Wednesday at 2PM. Despite that the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The vibe/ambiance was great with a great decor. Be sure to get the Texas Margaritas. First time here and sat at the bar . Bartender super slow and had to keep getting his attention for more drinks for us and or anything at all . We gave him many chances to ask us if we needed anything or more drinks ....never did one time . Wasn't just us he was like that to the people on both sides of us also and all we heard was - great place but a Sad bartender ruined it at the bar . We did notice also how he grabbed ingredients for drinks with his hands and no tongs and then turned around and would touch / grab everything else YUCK !!! Bar view was very busy and a lot going on as the garbage can was over filled and in plan site and unpleasant. But besides the Slow horrible bartender that seemed lost and spent 80% of his time at the computer / register staring, at it looking lost ....the food was good and simple drinks were ok . Went here for lunch with hubby and a friend. The decor is beautiful, but the food was definitely lukewarm and unremarkable. Lunch was $90 for us and I brought leftovers home and tossed them. The waiter seemed new and was reluctant to bring us chips and salsa, something I believe to be a staple in a Mexican restaurant. We watched it being built so it was a major letdown that the food was so blah. Not worth a return trip. read more

We walked in and were seated and they took our orders and had us waiting for an entire hour just for them to have forgotten to put our orders in meaning they had us waiting an hour or absolutely nothing. So looking forward to a great experience at a new restaurant in Bolingbrook. The remodel of the old Red Robin is outstanding with a beautiful bar and many large seating arrangements for large groups. You don't see that everywhere. So nice! Quite upscale and very well appointed. Great patio. I realize they have only been open about two weeks. BUT... took well over two hours for a dinner for 6 people. Had to ask for water. Had to ask for cutlery. Had to ask for menus. Waited forever for drinks, then apps, then dinner and finally had to get up and find our server to request the check (and as others have stated, the table had been COMPLETELY cleared as our family waited at an empty table before leaving). Unable to serve a Shirley Temple for the kids?  No grenadine??  Six meals were served cold on burning hot plates. My meal in particular was covered in lime juice, which overpowered everything.  My son ordered the burrito macha- pork. Came served with shrimp. Luckily, we don't have food allergies but WOW, that's a service 101 basic you don't get wrong.  Automatic 20% gratuity PLUS 3% for a party over 5 people. Overall terrible service. Mediocre food. Very expensive.  Not what we expected.  Unfortunately, with service like this, and less-than-stellar food, it won't survive. read more

Went back tonight and had terrible service, received the wrong order food, they bring out the food without the tortillas and it took a long time to get them. By that time food was cold. First off this is NOT your traditional Mexican restaurant for normal families. I don't know what idea they're getting at at this place. It was recommended to me by family that lives in Yorkville and had been to the Yorkville location some years ago so we were very excited when we saw it opening up here I couldn't wait to try it. It was just my husband and myself (We're in our 60s) expecting to enjoy a nice pretty much quiet dinner and it was I believe Saturday night Fourth of July or the day before, at any rate upon walking up to the place the front doors were open and there were two women standing outside of the restaurant smoking, but because the doors were open, cigarette smoke was pouring into the very front of the restaurant. Then we asked for a table and not a booth, but upon looking around the restaurants, they're really are not Any, or if so, very very few tables for two. this restaurant is more set up for large parties or groups maybe to celebrate special occasions. As we were walking in, which should've cued us right there to turn around and walk right out the door, club music was playing very loudly in the restaurant why we stayed. I have no idea we just wanted to try the place that we heard so many good things about. So the music was loud to begin with thumping, heart-pounding club music not the traditional Mexican music like we usually come to expect when eating at a Mexican restaurant. So, as I said, there's a lot of groups celebrating certain occasions and that's where the Texas Roadhouse type vibe came in. You have all the waiters and waitresses coming out with some type of dessert or drink and sparklers all screaming and singing and what not for the person's celebration birthday or whatever they're celebrating that adds to the noise level now. this was like about 9:30-10 at night. We were sitting next to a family with a baby who was I'm gonna guess between six months old and a year-old which when they were in their carrier were nice and quiet, but I don't know what prompted it to start crying, but it cried and it screamed and cried and screamed and cried and screamed, and mom and dad just didn't seem too worried about removing the nuisance Child from the rest of the restaurant guests. I do gather it was so noisy that Most people were not only probably not in earshot because of the other noise around the entire restaurant, but also probably quite in an inebriated state from all the celebration drinks they had. And they all seem to be quite younger. So After experiencing this restaurant, we've come to the conclusion that it is not for us. It is for people who are younger much younger, who enjoy a very loud celebratory vibe while dining. The waitress was good and honestly I can't even remember the food. I was so disgusted with the place and getting a headache from the boisterous obnoxious crowds and the heart thumping club music from the DJ that all I could think of was to get the heck out of there as soon as we could. So we rushed through dinner and just chalked it up to lesson learned. If that's your thing you might really enjoy this place But for us there so many other typical boring Mexican establishments in the surrounding areas that we really like that we will continue to enjoy and leave this place to the younger generation. We visited this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. The restaurant itself is nice, and the food/ambience were good. However, the staff experience was disappointing. They did not seem attentive or supportive, especially when guests were waiting. Even a simple request like warm water was not handled properly. Since we were there to create good memories, the lack of care and hospitality affected the overall experience. For celebrations, we look for a place where the staff is welcoming, understanding, and supportive. Unfortunately, that was missing during our visit. read more
