Came here for lunch as Chris and I decided to spend the long weekend in OKC. I had the Baja taco with cod and the Barbacoa while Chris had the combo platter (2 chicken enchiladas and hacienda taco with rice and beans). The place is huge and clean, with a lot of booths! You order and pay in the counter and get your order number then you can pick where you want to sit. Service was quick and staff was friendly and courteous. I loved the crunch from the jicama on my Baja taco. I love a meaty taco so I enjoyed the Barbacoa to the last bite! Chris enjoyed his meal as well. I ordered a taco salad from DoorDash. It looks delicious, however they did not afford me the joy of salsa on it. Pretty sure that's standard as it was shown in the picture. Love the decor here. Hand painted turquoise walls. Again, I have a family of six and trying to order at the counter when no one knows what they want is so aggravating. We hold up the line. It's confusing , people are mad at us. Staff is irritated, I'm irritated. i'd much rather have a menu where I could sit down and look at it in peace and take our time. Service is nice enough but not overly friendly. No smiles. Food is okay but overpriced. Tamale platter was mostly masa and it had an odd texture like bread. Spongy- ish? The tamales at Hacienda Tacos are AMAZING and probably some of the best tamales I've tried! I got the ones with the spicy chili sauce so they packed an extra punch. I also got the Hacienda Taco - standard one - and it was great as well. Wish they had horchata and more authentic Mexican drinks on their menu however! Service also went above and beyond because they bring the food out to you - also as far as the dining space, many tables both inside and outside, you can sit wherever you want, and they also have a full-service bar. Making this review because I'm embarrassed for my friend who was there Sunday 2/15/26 around 1PM/1:30PM. It was a party of 18, and hearing her experience irritated me for her. They called days in advance to give a heads up about the party size, was told that it would be covered. She said 2 families sat down after them, got their orders in, ate and left before they ever got waited on. Another thing that floored me, was when she told me another family was done eating and came up to one of the men in the party dressed up in a suit & tie, and asked if the man worked there because they needed something. It's been 3 years since we've been here but it's still very tasty. They have the best chips and the queso blanco is pretty good too! My husband and I got that and the brisket quesadilla (which was Huge and moist). My husband's thought we got two quesadillas it was so much. Very yummy. We originally tried to go to the one in midtown but found out it was permanently closed. We ended up at the Northpark Mall location. Service was very good. The food was really good. My fiancé got stuffed Sopapillas. I got the brisket quesadilla. The chips they bring you are delicious. The queso blanco was meh and for the price it was an extremely small serving. They have another one with bacon we might try next time. I've had better queso blanco BUT the food was perfect and the prices for our meals were great. Ambiance was good. It's open seating and they even have a stocked bar. It's decorated with bright, colorful, pretty murals. It's definitely a place worth checking out if you've not been there. We WILL be returning. This year Hacienda Tacos has become one of my favorite spots for lunch! It's very reasonable, and I love everything I've tried on their menu. One of my favorite items is the Posole. It's a hearty soup filled with pulled pork and hominy and topped with avocado slices...it's great! Another of my favorite items is their Taco Salad. It has lots of spiced ground beef and black beans with lettuce in a crispy shell. You wont leave hungry if you order that. They have a great menu of street tacos too. The ordering line was long but once we got to the front and placed our order, it was smooth sailing. The Tacos were super fresh, the service was very helpful and quick, plus the margaritas were huge! I had a Hacienda Taco - your traditional taco. It was just the right size - nothing fell out of the shell but it stuffed perfectly! The Al Pastor was a really nice mixture of sweet and salty with delicious pulled pork. It was a perfect combination. The margaritas??? They were huge! And yummy! My Mojo chicken taco was a let down. Chicken was a chewy glob of wet pulled meat, kinda gross, especially the texture. Why not grill it? Though they said it was marinated, it had no seasoning and very little flavor. The caramelized onions and mojo vegetables get lost in the background and add very little to it. They not only need to crank up the flavor, but better balance them. More meat does not always mean better, and this place proves that. I do usually love gringo taco shops. It made me miss Lucha Libre in San Diego, which is similar in concept but instead gives you maximum flavor (and has lines out the door daily). I wonder if they intend the flavor to be in the multitude of salsas they provide. I tried the red, it was a fresca with a little heat, not bad but not enough. I do need to try more of their menu, so I'll leave it at a 3 until I do. But for street tacos at these prices, I surely expect more. read more

Ok. The food is great here - always fresh, hot and tasty. But don't get the big head and decide you don't have to worry about customer service. I know every restaurant is short handed, and we eat out a lot and have patience for that. Decided to go in and placed a to go order. 8 people in front of me in the line took 10 minutes mostly because of the flustered single register operator. Ordered and asked where to pick up and she said right here. So...came back, stood in line which was at the end of the counter where they put delivery orders. One guy managing to gos and handing plates to person serving tables. Not once did they look at me to ask if they could help, even though I was holding their table number on a stick. Got to the cashier (who told me to come back there) and she told me to go to the end of the counter where I HAD been. Went back and again, no offer of help. After a few minutes, the bartender came and said she had my order at the bar in the other room. 15 minutes of chaos AFTER the order was placed 15 minutes before that. Come on people...if someone is standing at your counter, at least recognize them! Customer Service 101!!! Not sure we'll be back for a while since that burned me, but I will cool off after I eat. read more

My work friend and I enjoyed a rather late lunch at Hacienda tacos in Northpark Mall. It was after 2 PM when we arrived so obviously there was no line and we had pretty much the entire place to ourselves. No worries there as we prepare ahead of time and read yelp reviews and the restaurant has really great marks, we were eager to try their tacos and appetizers. We ordered the El combo starter which had freshly fried tortilla chips that were super thick and crunchy and paired perfectly with the queso cheese sauce and salsas. This appetizer was the true star of our lunch! I can easily see myself getting it togo or coming back and enjoying along with a fresh made Margarita. The cheese sauces were fantastic and the pickled veggies were made fresh, I went back and ordered an xl bowl of veggies because they were that good! I had the fried cod taco on corn tortilla and I wouldn't get this again. Little fish and lots of batter, kind of disappointing. My friend enjoyed the barbacoa beef taco and said it was seasoned wonderfully. I liked that the tacos were served on two tortillas with melted white cheese to keep the tortillas together. Been here twice and I love their tacos. Something different than other street tacos is that they put cheese between the two corn tortillas. It keeps the tacos from falling apart when eating them, which is awesome and something I've never seen before. Also, their chips are so tasty and love the nachos! Will definitely be a new regular. I used to enjoy eating here, but through the pandemic, I've grabbed the food to go. That will likely be my regular option after my most recent visit. My family went on a Tuesday night and it was a disappointing experience. The guy taking the orders has worked there a while (may even be an owner), but he seemed unfamiliar with the ordering system and took a while putting in our order. It was causing a line to back up, though the place was somewhat busy. His slow input seemed to be the problem. We wanted to sit outside, but the only unused table had trash and leftover food on it. There was no promptness to clean. Inside, we found a seat and stared at an unclean table the entire meal. There were many unclean tables in the restaurant. My tacos were the same good quality, but the refried beans looked liked they'd been setting out. My boyfriend's nachos were more peppers and grease than steak. They were not a great value. He later regretted eating the grease-dripping nachos. This place seems to have declined in attention to experience. read more

Went on Sunday Sept 9th the restaurant was filthy. Food was disgusting my husband left feeling very ill and had to use the restroom before we even left. The restrooms we both used looked like they had not been cleaned in days. Husband ordered fajitas but they were out and did not tell us until after we paid and were sitting waiting on our food but did not even adjust the bill when he had to order something else, he ordered a less expensive entree. Tea and lemon station was horrible, the tea containers were covered in filth and the lemons looked rotten. Will never go back and should warn others to not do so either. 9/22/19 - We keep going back for more every few weeks. Since they have been open the food quality and service levels have remained high. We normally my wife and I each get a street taco and the brisket nachos. We always leave full and full of flavor. The portions are generous. If you want some extra flavor ask the cashier for some 911 sauce. A few drops of it in combination with the normal table sauce will jump start your tastebuds. read more

I often suggest a kids bean burrito to my kids in hopes they won't eat the whole thing and I am forced to "not waste food". My favorite item is the smoked pork belly, but all of their meats are good. I think the quesadilla is the best value on their menu, and it comes with sour cream and guacamole so yeah. the pork belly is not a regular item; it is a special item that is offered once every few weeks. They have different weekly specials I like the floor plan and how they have seating out in the mall and on the patio, but the patio can be disgusting on a windy day because it is like a vortex of particulates and large lightweight matter.
