Food got tasty again. The last 2 times I was here were good! Food comes out pretty quickly and the service is good. Chips are always fresh and hot and I loved the chili colorado. Beans are always good and who doesn't like the look of lard ripples on those beans? Means tasty and since you're not eating it everyday, by all means, dig. The service was pleasant and when I ask for extra stuff like onions, I have no problem getting them here. Simple, eh? I just came west to celebrate my mom's birthday which was Wednesday the 24th. We had gone to my nieces basketball game and it ran way overtime and the restaurant we were supposed to go to had already closed my sister found this restaurant online on yelp thank God and we walked in a few minutes before closing. there were six of us all together and they so kindly put us into a gorgeous dining room with a fine tiled table and stunning unique carved wooden comfortable chairs. quickly took out orders, brought our food out very quickly and our drinks even faster and were the nicest warmest most hospitable patrons of a restaurant. They set the example of warmth and hospitality. But the food was just as good! we had everything off the menu: combination plates, specialties unique presentations etc. and everything everybody loved. from the rice, but for me the beans told the truth of the quality of the chef. In my opinion the beans always can tell you who knows what they're doing in the kitchen. I am extremely disappointed in this restaurant! After hearing good things from others, I decided to swing in on my lunch break and meet my daughter and boyfriend. We were seated quickly, which was a plus. But I guess the red flags should have shown when we received our food in less than 5min after ordering. (But again I'm on break so hey this is nice we're my first thoughts). We ordered two hacienda burritos with shredded beef and 4 shredded beef tacos, one house margarita, and one lemonade (our total was $54) a little high for the quality of food we received and for ordering completely off lunch menu. (And I'm not one to complain about price as long as the food is good). After starting to cut into my burrito I notice corn and peas ( I am allergic to peas) upon ordering I asked the server if there were any onions or veggies he told me no. Than he made my tacos wrong and brought ground beef (which was very nasty looking, it was chunky and watery, Taco Bell ground beef looks more appealing). So once the server brought out correct tacos out I explained to him that I can't have peas and I'm allergic and he said "well there is nothing I can do about that" I asked if I could change my order to something else, and he told me no. He said "oh well" and well in Mexico all rice comes with corn and peas. As a Sinaloa native never in my life have I seen authentic Mexican rice come with peas. He proceeded to say there was nothing he could do and walked away. I was baffled, but said okay thank you anyways and had to push it to the side. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone! This was a waste of money and time. Customer service was a 0/10, food was a 0/10, margarita was a 6/10, ambiance was a 3/10. This is the least authentic Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. EVER! Huge spacious dinning area. We were instantly greeted and seated as we entered. They had an overwhelming extensive menu it took a minute for us to look over it and read what they offered. We were given complimentary chips, salsa and coleslaw. The salsa and coleslaw was bland in flavor so we just ended up snacking on the chips. When our server took our order it wasn't a long wait which was great. My husband ordered beef fajitas plate which came with rice and beans. The rice was bland in flavor, the beans were good and the beef fajitas were actually the best we've ever had. The meat was tender and the flavors were just there. I ordered a 3 combo plate it was a huge portion. The 3 items I chose was a carne asada taco, asada chalupa and ground beef enchilada. Alittle disappointed to say that the asada meat was bland and lacking flavor and was also surprised to see my regular asade taco didn't have any toppings such as cilantro, onions or cabbage in it. It was a plain taco with just the tortilla and the meat. The chalupa was okay probably wouldn't order again although it was filled with toppings there was nothing special about it. The beef enchilada was yummy the meat was tasty, an item I would definitely order again if we return. They need a deep cleaning , there is a lot of dust on the walls and signs inside the restraunt. They charge you for dinner plates on weekends , when it's lunch time . They also charge for carbonated water most establishments don't . read more

I ordered chicken fajitas; normally they would cost $16-$18 but here they were $12.50. Chips were stale and cold, also really dry. None of us ate the chips and we LOVE chips and salsa. The fajitas were OK, they were really oily and the veggies were over cooked. My mom hated the food here yes, hated. She's a food nazi though. My sister really enjoyed her taco salad and said she would order again. My dad thinks everything tastes good so he liked his combo plate. Everyone else thought it was just average. I had a brand new Visa gift card and wanted to apply it to my tab. The waiter didn't know how to... he kept saying it was "declined" I explained thoroughly how to apply it and even read off the directions that the card came with. This is the first time ever a Visa gift card of mine has "declined" I have used them at many restaurants and stores with no issues. So, sadly I had to use my money to pay for my mediocre dish and inattentive service. He also never gave my parents back their change for their tab. Kinda shady...needless to say they didn't tip him anything additional. Overall, I do not frequent Clovis and surely will not just to eat here. The food is pretty good and they have so much to choose from on the menu. They start you out with chips and salsa. Along with a cabbage salsa too. They each had 2. My husband and I had two blended margaritas. Lol the server brought on the rocks the second time around on accident but they tasted better than the blended ones. Bad thing was our dinner entrees. I had fish tacos with beans and rice. It consisted of corn tortilla and generous piece of fish. No sauce, slaw or fresh veggie filling. There was some chopped up onions and peppers on the plate but they were cooked. No kind of fresh element. Lime? The fish was very very fishy tasting and smelling. I ordered some sour cream hoping to tame it down but even that did not help. I normally love fish tacos but these not so much. My husband had asada enchiladas and he said they weren't very good. My kids are weird and just want tacos with nothing but meat inside. It really threw the server off. One kid had onions and peppers cooked into the meat. He ate it anyways and said it was fine. My other child had requested chicken, cheese and sour cream tacos and they forgot the sour cream. It took awhile but eventually we got some. Our bill was screwed up. After reading good reviews on Hacienda Tequila located in Clovis, yet again Yelp failed me to find good Mexican food. As I came in the owner greeted me and sat me down quickly I guess the lunch rush was over because their was only 2 tables when I got there. This is what I ordered for my Meh Lunch I had today at Hacienda Tequila in Clovis; Jamaica Agua Fresca 3/5 it's ok a little sweeter side and no free refills. Dr Pepper 4/5 for fountain drink it's not waterd down like most fast food places, free refills. Chips 3/5 they're ok chips better than Toledo's House Salsa 1/5 it tasted like the jar kind Pace Picante from the supermarket. Combo appetizer 3/5 it tasted better than Toledo's restaurant but the chicken taquitos is more like flautas because it's big and not that crispy. For the nachos I hope they would add more beans or something and the ground beef quesadilla was greasy. Service 4/5 the owner was attentive bringing my food out quick and getting refills when I'm out. Shredded beef combo burrito 3/5 nothing over the top on this one I'm sure they use fresh meat not canned meat like Arsenios. Fish tacos plate 1/5 I read the reviews on this and they said it was really good more like really disappointing only seasoned fried fish on a tortilla whoop pee. If you want some good fish tacos go to Wahoos fish taco get the blackened fish tacos the orginal style and you can thank me later. I expect a bit more from these tacos maybe some lettuce or something else not plain seasoned fried fish. Pesky insects 1/5 lots of flys near the windows thankfully I didn't get any "extra" protein in my food. This was my first time eating at Hacienda Tequila I can say some of their stuff is better than Toledo's but that won't have me coming back for a second visit. The food I ate here wasn't really rememberable or on point, if they do something about the pesky insects I might bump up another star. I ordered Queso Fundido and Enchiladas with Mole sauce. The Queso Fundido was among the worst I've had. It was a mixture of white cheese and chorizo that appeared to be microwaved. It certainly wasn't cooked in the oven. It had none of the crunchy Carmelized bits that make it yummy. I ate a few teaspoons and asked the server (politely) to take it away. She did not offer to bring something else. The chicken mole enchiladas had a thin bland mole sauce. The restaurant has a large dining room in a popular location. If they don't up their game I doubt they'll be there much longer. read more

The one thing I did enjoy was the sprite! It was cold crisp and very carbonated! The skirt steak was grilled well with my corn tortillas. But the enchiladas are trash there's no flavor the rice is bland and beans are basic. We ordered a 2 item and 3 item combo & 2 refillable sodas. There was plenty of food and was hot when it arrived. The sodas were refilled every time our glasses had 1/2 of a soda in the glass. I liked it but didn't love it. I feel like because our plates were lunch specials (and cheap) that they just quickly slapped them together. My grilled chicken was very small and dry. A little on the tasteless side as well. Rice and beans were decent. The pico de gallo was old. I could tell by how soggy and colorless the tomatoes were, but the grilled serrano was a plus. Chips, salsa, and cabbage salsa were all good. My daughter said her flautas were okay but a little hard. Since she has braces, they were a little on the dangerous side for her to eat. Wait staff was attentive and prices are good. Decor is cute and colorful as well. Might return and order something else. read more

The service was one of the best experiences we have ever had from the greater to Don Carlos coming over to ensure we were enjoying our experience at his restaurant. This was our first time at the restaurant but we were blown away from how good the experience was to include the ambiance that greeted us. 10 out of 10. and did i mention that the Margaritas were delicious? I really hate to update this with a less than stellar review, but here goes... When they were in the building where 559 tacos is at, they were very good. I enjoyed their service at their other location because they constantly checked on you and I enjoyed their food. I recently came to the new location for a friend's bday and was very disappointed. I was with 8 other girls. EVERYONE (all 8 girls I was with) got their food except me. The waiter never told me there was going to be a wait on my food. There was no apology or anything. I kept looking back thinking they were going to come up to me and apologize and tell me my food was on it's way. Nope. They just kept avoiding eye contact with me so when I caught the waiter at the register, I asked him where my food was, he said it was on its way. I also didn't eat all day today either. I asked for no lettuce on my food, but when it came, it came without tomatoes. My food finally came after all the 8 plates came out after 10 minutes after I asked a few times when it was coming out. I wasn't trying to be impatient, but when 8 other girls got their plates already, I hadn't ate all day and I was the 2nd one that ordered, it was frustrating. I also asked for a spicier salsa, they brought me a bottle of something that seemed very watered down. When my bill came, I was thinking maybe they would be nice and add at least a 10 percent discount or comp my soda or something. Still, no apology, nothing and I usually don't do this ever, but I was so disappointed, I did not leave a tip. I think if they would have apologized and acknowledged me, then I most likely would have understood. Overall, if someone requested to come here, I will come with them.
