Absolutely amazing Szechuan restaurant with really nice and friendly staff. Portions will really big and filling. All the food was delicious. Very large menu so you'll definitely find something you'll like. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything you pick. They also prefer tips in cash.

Went for the lunch special. I enjoyed my meal which was the shrimp and broccoli with fried rice. My bf got orange chicken with friend rice. He did not care for his as much. Fried rice was cooked decent and that says something because ATL is not known for good Chinese food. The spring rolls were just ok. I wanted to try the dumplings but my bf is not into those. Service was good, quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant decor was fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would return.

We were really pleased with the meal we had here. We ordered the Szechuan Chili Chicken, Bamboo Flounder, and Grandma's Noodle. Everything came out piping hot, and the flavors were really good. The chicken was tender and spicy, and the chili oil used for the Grandma's Noodle dish was so flavorful. The Bamboo Flounder was lightly salted and perfectly crispy, easily our favorite of the three. While we were there we saw several interesting looking dishes going to other tables, from huge bowls of soup to sphere shaped bread (now I know it's the scallion bubble pancake). I'm looking forward to going back and trying more menu items.

I've eaten at Hai several times, and I've always had good food there. My favorite dish is the bamboo fish, and I appreciate the consistency of the dish. It always tastes deliciously the same. I've had so many items on the menu here; I don't think any option would be disappointing. Also, I've only eaten at Hai during the day time, I have never experienced them at night. Service is always good and the team there works really well together. They always come right on time but never seem rushed. The shopping center is always full of traffic but the upside is that there's always parking. My only downside for Hai is pricing. Everything costs much more now and I know that it doesn't have to be that way.

I don't think I've ever had authentic Chinese food in Atlanta. Maybe I just haven't been looking hard enough, but at least I found this one thanks to one of my professors. Back in Atlanta for my doctorate, our professor wanted to meet a group of us for dinner and suggested Hai and it was really tasty. Pretty authentically Chinese, the taste is really good. FOOD: The xiao long bao is not Din Tai Fung, but much better than most places. The crispy pork belly was good but not the kind I'm used to from those Chinese bakeries in the Bay Area. This was literally deep fried pork belly pieces but without that super crispy layer on top. The pork bao (cha siu bao) was really good. I actually prefer the Americanized version of it, but this was authentic. The peking duck was not anywhere near the best I've had but still flavorful. Overall, really good food. SERVICE: Very good. Nice and polite and willing to explain the menu. Portion sizes were just right, too. COST: For what you get definitely not bad. I would definitely come back again.

While a bit on the pricey side, I did enjoy my lunch at Hai. The restaurant is located in the Suburban Plaza Shopping Center on North Decatur Road. It's a very busy area, so parking can be difficult. I called ahead of time and placed my order. When I arrived, I was greeted by a server and paid for my order at the kiosk. After a few minutes, my name was called and I picked up my order. I got the shrimp fried rice and added beans sprouts for an additional $2. The total was $17.28. Upon opening the container, I thought it looked bland. Looks can be deceiving because the rice was actually flavorful. I'd return and look forward to trying out more items from their menu.

Came for their lunch specials as we saw their sign while passing by. $11 lunch special with soup and rice is literally unbeatable. They had quite a few options to choose from as well. We got the spicy fish and the chicken and scallion chicken dish. The chicken dish was pretty good, you could taste the wok flavor but it was just a little too heavily seasoned with cumin. The fish was definitely very tender and fresh. The sauce was good as well. Not too spicy or salty. Just right. And it paired perfectly with the rice. The hot and sour soup was delicious but the chips were a little stale. Other than that the lunch is an amazing deal. Would be back for their dinner too as they have so many options to choose from.

The fried eggplant and spicy beef tendon were good but slightly inconsistent (with each visit). I'd like to experiment what else is on the menu. Service can be great but can also be below average depending on who you get or I guess their day. I've had more good experience than bad so it's worth the risk. Took my Mom to her eye exam appointment in the area and we decided to stop here for lunch. I ordered shrimp fried rice spicy and hot and sour soup and my Mom ordered veggie fried rice with seafood soup, the food was soooo delicious and flavorful! We both took some home for later, couldn't finish it there! The service was Awesome, everyone there was so nice and friendly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was chill, it was not crowded because it was so early in the day![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is nice, very clean![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In a plaza with other restaurants and stores, free parking! I ordered takeout, shrimp fried rice and their seafood soup. I would give the soup zero stars. The amount of seafood could fit on a teaspoon. For ten dollars, I expected more. The shrimp fried rice was good. Not great but good. The service when I picked my food up was also good. Prompt and ready to help. I waited less than five minutes for my order. They were busy with to-go orders this particular day.

Was so stoked to see pecking duck buns on the menu! Affordable $12, just the perfect amount of hoisin, chives and cucumber. I would have preferred a crispier duck skin and a fluffier steamed bun, but all in all, very delicious and would recommend and get again. The noodles are the right amount of heat+ garlic and the noodles have a nice bite.

    What are the vegan options?

All the vegetarian options should also be vegan as Asian people do not use dairy. The dragon eggplant is amazing and so is the Ma po tofu. There are also lots of appetizers that are dry fried vegetables.

Is the dining room open for august 20, 2021?

I don’t know. That was over 4 years ago.

This restaurant is an absolutely legend and staple of the Emory-neighborhood. Whatever you do you MUST go at some point in your ATL career. Honestly, this might be the worst $80 of money I've spent in years. I regret not trusting the Yelp reviews.... I am now writing this so you don't have to make the same mistake. AMBIANCE We stopped by one evening craving American Chinese food after going to multiple solid spots across the coast...and the food menu and photos looked like most spots so we figured we'd give it a go... Parking was easy enough and when we came in, we were immediately seated in the green booths. It was clear that the place was going for a nicer, upsale Asian restaurant vibe with the booths and glass partitions (compared to the usual expectations for bare-bones takeout spots)...but the stick tables and booth furniture and lighting was a nope from me. FOOD The food looked decent and the "fast service" and good place for "cozy dates" on the website was fine, but gosh darn in this economy, the PRICE for VALUE and QUALITY at a spot like this is ridiculous. We started with the PuPu flaming platter as an appetizer for $30 and expected something more than what we got. It consisted of a few fried wontons with basically no filling, the least meaty chicken wings, and all the fried stuff was more batter or fatty unedible bits than protein. Plus, it was COLD. This platter for $30 is more show with the flames in the center than food. You could go to a fancy upscale dining establishment and have not only higher quality food but also better service AND ambiance. Then the snow white chicken at ~$18 and it was fine, kind of more dry than the usual but fine. The pork fried rice for $13.99 tasted odd to us with the mix-ins used. We also asked for an extra plate of Steamed Vegetables for $17, which and it took a good 20 minutes to show up. For how expensive it was, I kept waiting for at least one dish to redeem the meal... AND it never happened! SERVICE The service was fast for the most part. However, for the price here and the type of place, you'd expect someone to check on you. Seriously, we had to ask multiple times for extra drinks. It was hard to get anyone's attention when we needed something. It wasn't rude, just very "we don't really care...." I have NO photos on this because it was so awful. I would not return. Please spend your money elsewhere. Please don't make the same mistake we did.

For anyone unfamiliar, Chinese Dhaba is actually a type of Indian restaurant called Indo-Chinese because it's the Chinese food that is prepared Indian-style. They do have some typical "chinese" food dishes that you'd find in another American Chinese establishment, but that's not the main attraction. I ordered Chicken 65, Egg Drop Soup, Chicken Spring Samosas, Chilli Paneer, and a mango lassi. First things first, the mango lassi was absolutely delicious and I pretty much licked the cup clean. I wish the rest of the country appreciated mango lassi the way that I do. The chicken spring samosas were just okay, they seemed to be missing something in my opinion. The Chicken 65 was great, yummy little nuggets of spicy fried chicken. The chilli paneer was also just okay. The sauce tasted more like a Manchurian sauce IMO. It wasn't very spicy, my Chicken 65 was spicier than my paneer. It was still tasty though. The only thing that I categorically did not like was the egg drop soup. It was very thick and totally flavorless. I tried adding my wonton chips to it and it didn't help much. Overall a nice experience and I will certainly order again in the future as I am a big fan of indo-Chinese cuisine!

Yet, instead of the Paneer Mango Masti, we were served a chicken dish. This was gross, humiliating, and deeply upsetting, especially for my mother and me, as we are strict vegetarians. The food itself was average at best, and unfortunately, our previous visit was also disappointing. When I called to complain, I spoke to someone named Berni, who refused to transfer me to the manager and tried to "resolve" the situation with a coupon for a free entree. This is not an appropriate response for such a serious mistake in serving the wrong dish to strict vegetarians- it's not about a free meal, it's about basic respect and proper service. Overall, this experience was unacceptable, and after multiple disappointing visits, this will be our last visit to this restaurant. (We've attached photos of the receipt and the dish for reference.)
