I called Michele on a Sunday afternoon and scheduled an appt with her for the following Thursday afternoon. Michele was able to schedule me with ease. I arrived to my 12pm appt, she asked me what I wanted, I showed her a picture and she got started on my hair. Let me tell you! Michele started at 12 pm and we was done by 1:48pm!! This was by far the most quickest and efficient weave I have ever received in my life. I did come washed, conditioned and ready to go... But still, I'm use to at lease sitting in the salon for 3-4 hours. I was impressed!! I was even more stunned at the final results of my style. Michele was able to give me the exact replica of the picture I had shown her. I'm glad I found her! Scheduling was easy, stylist was professional and attentive to what I wanted. I contacted her & showed her the pictures and she for some reason thought I didn't like the style. What!! She gave me $165.00 after I paid her almost $700.00! We paid $100 for the service, and the appointment was completed in less than 45 minutes. At the time, I thought the service seemed rushed, but I trusted that the work had been done correctly. Unfortunately, within just two days, every single twist had unraveled. My son's hair looked messy and undone, and this has never happened after any previous re-twist service. A re-twist should last significantly longer than 48 hours, especially when a customer is paying professional prices. I contacted the salon owner Dr. T to explain the situation and provide an opportunity to make things right. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told that Chantel is an independent contractor and that the salon could not do anything about it. The only solution offered was for us to return to Sacramento to have the service redone. Considering that we live in Los Angeles, this was not a practical or reasonable resolution. What is most disappointing is not only the poor quality of the service but also the complete lack of accountability afterward. Customers do not book appointments based on a stylist's employment classification--they book with a business expecting professional service and support if something goes wrong. Passing responsibility to an independent contractor does not change the fact that the service failed almost immediately. As a result, we are now forced to spend another $100 to have the work redone elsewhere. Businesses that value their reputation stand behind the services performed in their establishment and take customer concerns seriously. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it is important for others to know what happened. Based on the quality of the work and the way this issue was handled, I cannot recommend this salon. If you are considering booking a re-twist service, I would strongly encourage you to do your research and choose a business that stands behind its work and values customer satisfaction.
