Brulee signature had mashed plantains on top which was an interesting twist but ultimately I felt like it masked the flavor of the rest of the roll. Even when you remove the plantain's the sauce of it is already seeped into the roll. The mango tatsu had a similar-ish problem. The whole roll was pretty much just mango and rice flavor. Overall, was decent but for the price I was expecting "spectacular" and it was not really that.

I chose the side salad with the house ginger dressing and my wife had the miso soup. Both of us went with white rice. Our sides came out pretty quick, and once we finished our sides, our entrees came out like clockwork. The Teriyaki Beef with accompanying vegetables tasted great, but I felt the portion size of both could have been larger. Still, it was a good value. Now, the portion size of the Hibachi Chicken with vegetables was much better, and it may be my choice next time. I want to mention that the sushi I saw being delivered to other tables looked pretty amazing, so the Hibachi Chicken may have to wait. Service was excellent throughout our visit. The only suggestion would be some soft background authentic Japanese music to add to the experience.

The food was delicious! We ordered A few rolls and a chicken fried rice. I would easily recommend this place to anyone looking for good sushi, sashimi, or Hibachi, since that's what Japanese restaurants are known for.

We were promptly greeted and shown to a table. The menu had a great selection of ramen, bento, and sushi. While I was leaning towards sushi, I opted for the chicken katsu bento. The food came out quickly and I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size. Definitely a good value in my opinion. The only disappointment was their take on fried rice, which seemed more like a dirty rice you would get at Popeye's. Honestly, I think white rice would have been a better pairing for this dish. Great service throughout our visit and we're keeping this one on the short list.

Unfortunately, there aren't any truly authentic ones here that are good (or I just haven't found one yet) but Raku at least serves decent sushi. It's not on their menu but they also have Takoyaki. The octopus inside is tiny but they're pretty good. The servers are always nice, though the service is on the slow side most of the time.

While not all of our local options are great, we have a reasonably large number of options that are good enough to make them regular stops for me. Taco Mama is not going to be on that list, I'm afraid, based on my experience thus far. The facility itself seems fine, though the ambient noise level was rather loud (likely influenced by all the metal and concrete). But the food, the feel, the service and the value just don't compete well with all those other places we have to choose from. The unhelpful attitude of the clerk taking my order didn't start things out well; she seemed genuinely annoyed about being there, and that attitude carried over into her tone when answering my questions or prompting me for info she needed. Also on the service side of things, I had to stop the waitress from throwing away my food -- a plate over half full -- after I'd walked not more than ten steps away to refill my drink. [She apologized, but only after I had to confront her twice; still don't understand why "don't throw that away!" could have been confusing.] The burrito and beans I ordered were edible, but so bland that I might as well have been eating packing materials. The accompanying chips were warm, but the cup of salsa was quite possibly the least appealing salsa I've ever been served in a restaurant. I've had Taco Bell food I've enjoyed more than this. And yet I had forked over almost $20 for such a disappointment. Maybe it was an off-day. Maybe the tacos are the way to go here instead. But I don't think they offered even a hint of a reason for me to try Taco Mama again any time soon.

I've been waiting for this restaurant to open. My sister-in-law and I tried it on Sunday 4/6. We started with shrimp rolls that were loaded with plenty of shrimp and cooked to perfection. Her meal was the lemon/Panko crusted chicken. She never finishes her meals but this time, her plate was empty. She does not care for broccoli, they substituted with carrots and bok choy and the presentation was awesome. I chose the Mongolian Beef - I have been looking for a restaurant in the area that matches the one I always went to in NJ for that dish. I have finally found my match. The waiter was right on it and asked my wishes for the "heat" I desired. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned accordingly to my taste. The waiter was friendly, caring and gave us great service. The Manager made it a point to visit our table and greet us as well as make sure we were satisfied with our meal. I have many gluten free friends and am looking forward to returning to this fabulous restaurant where they may also enjoy the various dishes they offer. I have read the many previous reviews and I believe they have ironed out any "new restaurant" problems. This is definitely a keeper as far as I'm concerned and I sincerely hope they are there for a long time to come. read more

I recently visited this Asian cuisine spot and left with mixed feelings. On the bright side, the food was excellent especially the General Tso's chicken, which was perfectly crispy with a rich, tangy sauce. The egg fried rice was also a standout: flavorful, well-seasoned, and not greasy also the egg-rolls were pretty good! The sauce that came with it was great really enjoyed that. The ambience added to the experience; modern, clean, and inviting, making it a pleasant place to dine in. However, the service was a letdown. While the staff was polite, the wait for food was unreasonably long, which dampened the overall experience. Wasn't to many people in there at the time so I wasn't sure what was going on. If you're not in a rush and are looking for quality Asian food in a nice setting, it's worth a visit. Just be prepared to wait. read more

We stopped in for the first time Sunday evening around shift change. Zegaro took over our table for ordering and quickly offered a menu walk. He also made the specials clear and brought us some much needed silverware and plates. They went with the crab wontons. She highly recommends! I enjoyed those. But, not as much as the sushi. We tried the Dragon Roll and Happy Hakka which have a similar mix, one has shrimp and the other crab. Great stuff. We shared everything, including the Crispy Sweet and Sour pork... perfect rice and sauces. We'll be back. And as a server, shout out to Zegaro and ask for his section. This restaurant has amazing atmosphere. The food was unbelievable. I had the thai coconut curry(green) which was spicy and full of flavor. My husband has the crispy basil chicken and he loved it. But the best part, other than the awesome service that Jason gave us, was the dessert. I had the vanilla cheese cake. Its crispy cheese cake with creamy chocolate ice cream. My husband got a chocolate expresso brownie with vanilla ice cream and candied walnuts. Yum!!!! Also the manager stopped by our table and we found out he is a baker and actually invented the brownie dessert. We will definitely be going back. read more

First visit here and we had a great time. Excellent service (and it is difficult to get me to say that) and the food was very good. Egg Rolls, main course all super. The ONLY issues keeping from five stars: trying to park when I am assuming an employee running late was trying to make it on time at 6:00 and she almost hit me with her blue Nissan, and my drink I ordered was made slightly incorrectly. I watched and heard the owner stereotype two young Black women. And when they needed assistance she was nasty and dismissive. For the owner to be a WOC breaking down Black women set the tone for the environment. The food was nasty and flavorless too, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Little Tokyo boasts a pleasant, relaxing ambiance that made it a welcome refuge from the night's rather intense rain. The menu here is Japanese (sushi, sashimi, hibachi, etc.) albeit with some Korean and Chinese influences. The selection of sushi rolls is extensive, and quite a few of them sounded intriguing. Admittedly, the Italian (a California roll topped with white fish, tomato sauce, and cheese) was a bridge too far even for me. My wife and I came hungry and went with two apps (steamed dumplings and vegetable gyoza), four rolls, and two misos. The food was, across the board, quite good. Whereas some miso can blast you with salt, Little Tokyo's broth benefitted from an underlying richness. Our sushi was beautifully plated and tasted fresh. Of the rolls we tried, the Bulgoki (beef, crab, cucumber, and eel sauce) was my favorite. Prices here are reasonable for the quality of the food (rolls in the low-mid teens, most apps under $10), and severs are polite. The kitchen isn't lightning fast, but we didn't find the wait unreasonable. Based on ratings, I expected "good," and based on hunger levels and a desire to be out of the rain, I would have settled for "OK." Little Tokyo, however, ended up being surprisingly great.
