Food -- Ordered 2 smash burgers - 1 double and 1 quad with fries. These were some of the best burgers I've had. The meat was crispy and tasty done perfectly and the fries were hot and crispy with some good seasoning. The only drawback was the buns got a little soggy, still tasted really, really good. Another person ordered the chicken plate.... delicious. The chicken was flavorful and there was plenty of rice and salad. We also had some pita bread and humus. Yelp once again saved the day, we were so impressed! We shared the chicken and lamb shawarma and the loaded fries. The staff were friendly and seemed like they were also very patient and courteous to each other, which I really appreciate. Our food was super fresh, absolutely DELICIOUS and very reasonable. The restaurant itself had an updated feel with fun artwork! We aren't local to Fresno, which might ultimately be a blessing because I don't know if we could control our Halal Bros habit if we did. During our first visit the food was amazing and good! Just that my husband added bacon to his smash burger but they were out and was willing to give us an egg on the burger which my husband didn't mind! Update (~3 weeks later): Came in store for dine-in to try for a better experience. After ordering from the kiosk, I got a text message saying my order will be ready within 15 mins or so. After a 30+ min wait, my order was ready. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap w/ mild spice. The wrap was loaded with the spicier sauce, making it unbearable to enjoy. I could tell that the sauce they put in is not the usual mild one. My shawarma kept falling apart because of the amount of excess sauce they put in. I've been to Halal Guys so maybe my expectations were different, but the white sauce tasted strongly of mayonnaise and less Greek yogurt. My family didn't have a great experience ordering takeout from Halal Bros. You order from a kiosk near the counter and thats where the problem started. We ordered, got a text message confirming our order and sat down to wait. Numerous people came in after us and did the same thing. After a while we noticed several people who ordered after us got their food and left. Eventually I talked with the guys preparing and serving the food and they had overlooked our order. They apologized, strangely blamed it on the morning shift somehow and said they would "hook us up" for the extra long wait (we were there for about 45 minutes total). I said ok and figured that meant we would get some extra food for free. I was wrong. No extra food and my wife's food was supposed to be mild but they made it spicy like mine.
