    Chicken kebab over rice
    Shruti Y.

Came here for a quick weekend lunch. Nice clean space, not super busy. The people behind the counter were pleasant. Parking is plenty, no issues there. The minced chicken kebab was moist and melt in your mouth good! The plate comes with 2 skewers of chicken, with rice and salad. While I loved their matcha chicken, the rice was a lot lacking in flavor. They offer 3 different kinds of sauces to go with the food and they were all delicious. I'll be back next time, maybe try their fish or lamb next time.

Amazing food for the price! Easily one of the best Halal spots in the South Bay. They seriously put places like Halal Guys to shame. I got the chicken and lamb over rice and it was very good. The meat was smoky, super tender, and full of flavor. The rice was soft and fluffy, and the bread had a nice garlic kick. The red hot and white sauces on the side were perfect and tied everything together. The staff was really friendly and service was quick. If you're looking to eat good and stay full, this is the spot. Definitely coming back to try more from the large menu.

Got the chicken mix and it's so good! Better than Halal Guys. The chicken and rice are flavorful. Comes with a small salad and piece of bread. Would recommend.

Ordered the family set - Plenty of meat and rice - Salad portion is generous - Sauce is good - Price is very reasonable, the party tray portion could feed more than 7 people and price is below $14 per person!!! - Place is a bit small but plenty of table - Ambience is decent, when i went there is only one other customer overall experience is good

If you're looking for incredible Mediterranean food, this spot is a must-try! The chicken kabab and lamb kofta are absolutely amazing--juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The taste is easily 5/5. Prices are reasonable for the quality, so I'd give it a 4.5/5 on that front. The interior is pretty basic--nothing fancy--but it seems more like a quick pickup kind of place rather than a dine-in experience. That said, the service is outstanding (5/5)--friendly, fast, and welcoming. If you care more about great food than ambience, this place won't disappoint! Will definitely be coming back.

Family bundle for 3-4 plus extra 2 orders of meat and falafel.

Price - 5 stars. Value for money. Portion is huge. I ordered the party bundle. Food - 4 stars. Meat is well cooked - no charred or burnt! Kofta is the best - very moist. Falafel is a little dry. Spicy sauce is very very good. But I think they should also come out with a green- sauce for visual and taste effect. I saw them preparing the skewers. Everything is made from scratch. Location - very strategic. Near big Tasman intersection and has ample parking. Staff - Good service. Hardly smile because they are very hard at work. I called to order my food instead of doing it online.

I ordered chicken combo and falafal combo. Both the plates were amazing. The food is very tasty, fresh and authentic. Best part is the red and white sauce. The servers are also very kind and generous. They gave us extra sauce.

This is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant near to my apartment and I've ordered multiple times from this place on DoorDash. But recently, the restaurant name seems to have changed to Benjys kosher in DoorDash (see in the attached picture)

It's refreshing to see a different cuisine in San Jose. I was excited to try afghan food here. I should have known something was going to be off based off the menu having burgers The staff was very friendly. Had no issues there The rice is very, very oily and lacked flavor. The chicken and lamb were dry. My partner got the lamb over rice and the protein looked great. It was cut up, didnt look dry, and was also tossed with cut up bell peppers. Its not pictured but we also got the spicy french fries, which is $1 more than regular french fries. The spicy sauce is literally white sauce and frank's red hot. Not worth it At the end if the meal, I felt very sluggish. Thats how much oil was in the meal especially in the rice

#7. One Lamb Tikka and One Chicken Tikka Combo
    May G.

I love this place. Their portions are huge, their prices are fair, their service is extremely quick! It took probably less than 5 mins for them to bring my food out. I got the One Lamb Tikka and One Chicken Tikka Combo which I recommend. The combo comes with lamb, chicken, rice, a side of salad, and a piece of bread, as well as some sauces. I do think their meat can be a bit juicier, but overall the meal is super delicious and filling. Ask for extra white sauce, but their sauce changes each bite significantly! This restaurant has plenty of seating and is decently sized, so there's room to dine in. They also offer complimentary tea which I thought was very nice! This is my go-to spot when I'm craving halal, so I'd definitely recommend checking them out!

my work has ordered from halal gyro express a few times and i usually opt for the lamb and chicken rice or over salad. the portion is a good size for lunch. there is a good amount of meat and it is well seasoned. it also comes with some vegetables: onions, cucumbers, etc. the rice is a little oily hence why i opted for the salad version this time. i recommend using the sauces they provide to make it even more flavorful.

The indoor/outdoor seating is enjoyable, and they offer average prices for this type of food, though it is an order at the counter place. My meal was a bit of a mixed bag. The falafel was good, though a little dry and needed sauce to balance it out. My gyro was super messy, overly smothered, and ultimately lacked a flavorful punch. The pita chips were, let's say, robust and not at all delicate and crinkly. And I was disappointed by the mango lassi, as it was simply store-bought rather than freshly made. But if you are looking for a classic spot with a historic vibe and nice outdoor seating, it is worth trying, but the food didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

The inside is nicely decorated with pictures of famous places in Greece. It's not huge inside but cozy with several tables for inside seating as well as a patio outside for outdoor seating. You can scan the QR code at your table or order at the front counter. We ordered from the front counter. We ordered the highly recommended Mousaka, the 3 piece plate with a side of green Greek salad. We chose the chicken skewer, pork skewer, and bifteki for our 3 meat choices as well as an order of Spanikopita. Our food was delivered to our table promptly. I grew up eating my Mom's Mousaka and I've eaten it in Athens, Naxos and Santorini. Let me tell you, their Mousaka was excellent. The eggplant, potato, meat filling and béchamel on the top were perfect. It's definitely a must try. The three skewers of meat were so flavorful and juicy. Both my husband and I loved it!! The pita bread it came with so warm and soft. The Spanikopita was fresh and hot. Delicious flaky phyllo dough with a savory spinach interior. The salads that came with each dish were also wonderful. Their feta on the top was so good and I loved the Kalamata olives. Customer service here was great. The young lady that helped us when we ordered was very friendly and helpful. It started getting busy inside while we were eating and I can see why. This is delicious homemade Greek food made from the heart. We will be coming here more often, now that we know about this place. There are many other things we are looking forward to trying.

I took no pictures because I was eating in the car and just dove in, but it was well-wrapped for the journey. I was kicking myself after leaving for not remembering to ask for no onion, only to discover that, thankfully, they didn't put raw onion on it! I was delighted, and this may be the best chicken shawarma I've ever had. The meat was flavorful and plentiful for a small order, and to my utter joy there were strips of pickle tucked in with the meat! It was such a delicious mouthful that I was really wishing I'd gotten the full size after all! It's better that I didn't, and now I can't wait to go back again and try more things, like the shawarma fries! Parking can be difficult so be prepared to hunt and maybe walk a bit. The beef and lamb arabi style wrap portion is pretty big. I got seasoned fries for the side and we were given a lot. I'm a big fan of the double fried fries or the so-called psoriasis fries. There was a good balance of crispy and mushy fries. Tastes really good with the toum and the tahini sauce. The wrap is a bit dry but the flavors are still good. I think I do prefer the chicken over the beef/lamb mainly for the tahini sauce. The service is kind of just ok. I didn't know you were supposed to grab the sides from the fridge and they didn't tell me until I had to go back and ask. The whole interaction just felt a bit awkward but I'm sure they were also just tired. The place could be a bit tidier and cleaner. There's also no public restroom for those wondering but they have hand sanitizer stations set up which is nice. Parking is not too difficult but I haven't been when it's peak hours.

All the while smiling:) I ordered via yelp because we were starving and easily this restaurant has their menu in organized and visually appealing. Their descriptions and the variety of selections and customizations on point. My husband said he wasn't hungry but then saw the food and we scarfed it all down. He gave it 8.5 and said would come back. I ordered pickled vegetables which I thought was going to be onions but I think it's actually cabbage. Not my preference so I will take that home to the parents. Did order yogurt dip- husband was a fan. The chicken thigh and filet were so tender. I had put a note on the order for medium rare. I wouldn't call that medium rare but it was tender nonetheless. I'm sad I had to pay extra for a half of a Roma tomato, salad and lavash- the lavash I saw it in the add-ons menu so I assumed it wasn't in there. Ended up with so much lavash. No need to buy extra. The entire thing came up to $63-ish. The food was 4/5 but service was 5/5! I know this economy has everyone struggling. This was probably the most I have spent on Mediterranean food. I would have expected $45-$50. We just came back from Turkey so this would have costed us $15-$20 USD. Portions for rice and meat were good though! All in all- would come back!
