A dozen chargrilled
James N.

I recommend you go to the location a few blocks away. This one inside the casino isn't as good and is also a little bit more expensive. There's a stand alone restaurant nearby which is better. Our server was nice. It was dark and inside a casino. Decor dated. Plenty of free parking at least at the casino. I ordered a dozen chargrilled oysters and they didn't come out sizzling hot like they should have. The oysters themselves were luke warm. Tasted ok but not great. Shortly afterward, I had diarrhea.

Delicious food best place to eat. Best service and location. Located at the best casino.

First time here at Half Shell Oyster House. I must say that I am a picky eater when it comes to seafood, but Half Shell met my expectations. Everything we ordered was so good. We arrived around 7:30 but were seated at 8PM. 30minute wait was not bad since there was a crowd. Pro tip, the restaurant was cold so bring a sweater. Here is what we ordered: Charbroiled Oyster - 100/10, my family loved this. Charbroiled oysters with white wine, butter garlic, herb sauce & parmesan cheese. Fried Crab Claws - I had this sauteed Orleans sauce instead of fried. 10/10 would recommend. Crab Cakes - Large six ounce hand-crafted crab cake made from blue crab meat (import), blended with sautéed vegetables and seasonings. Grilled and topped with blue crab meat (import) ravigotte and Parmesan. My brother said these were the best crab cakes he had! Crab Seafood dip - Crabmeat & Shrimp, melted cheese with some herb & Panko crust. Severed with toasted French bread. Definitely my favorite appetizer. Mahi Savannah - Pecan encrusted mahi over cheddar cheese grits with sauteed gulf shrimp. The star show of our meal - I'm not a fan of grits but everything pair nicely together. We ordered a lot of appetizers and one entrée because we could not decide on just one or two appetizers. We enjoyed all of them and would recommend anyone to try this place out!

Our second time here. Came on a Tuesday so there was no real wait. Otherwise definitely join the waitlist. I had the special Wasabi encrusted Tuna. Delicious. It came with fried green beans that were crispy with the chili sauce, insane! The restaurant is a little dark so the old man had to use his flashlight on his phone. Got a chuckle from the staff as they are used to it. Drinks were good-he had a pecan whisky old fashioned which he sipped on. This is on our must go to list!

Shrimp po boy ($15) pretty weak

Half Shell was the first real restaurant I hit in Biloxi. There are a few locations in the area, but this one is located in the Hard Rock Hotel. My friend who lives in the area and I shared the charbroiled oysters, while I ate the raw oysters. He really liked the charbroiled oysters, and he doesn't like oysters in general. I enjoyed the freshness and brininess of the raw oysters. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my po boy as much. The shrimp were small, there was no mayo or remoulade sauce, and the roll did not stand up to the fillings. On the other hand, my friend really liked his cheeseburger and fries (not pictured). Qi was a good waiter. He was attentive and accommodating. My friend felt he did not receive enuf fries, and Qi was kind enuf to bring my friend more fries at no charge. Regarding the ambiance, its upscale in here. The motif is dark and there is a bar, a sushi bar, and several tables of two & four. I would return to Half Shell, but I would shy away from the po boys. The other food is much better.

While visiting Biloxi recently my friends & I decided to stop in Half Shell to eat. We ordered a few things, all very delicious. The charbroiled oysters and crab beignets were very delicious. The raw oysters were perfect, as was the gumbo. Everything passed the "eat local" test for me. Service was good, we came in midday on a Saturday in November, so it wasn't much of a crowd. We were actually seated immediately. I'd definitely come back here on future visits to Biloxi.

Seafood Pasta.

The food was good so for that I would have given a 4 star. However the location is very dated and in need of some tender loving care. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. Everything was good. The ambiance was just lacking. I had the seafood pasta and it was top notch. My husband had the seafood platter. Everything was just so so he said except the fried shrimp was better than anything he has tasted. We had tasty drinks and left with full bellies so we were content. Not in a hurry to eat here again. We really wanted to love our dining experience.

I love this place! I would recommend to get there early or set a reservation. Ask for Josh! He is awesome and amazing! It had been sometime since I was at this location but I lucked up and he was my server again! We had a great time! Very patient and excellence service all around! Nothing is bad on the menu! The place is beautiful. They decorate with seasons/time of year. Very intimate. Great date night, quick lunch or dinner with the fam! This is a must do!

OMG Best food in Biloxi. It's my go to every time I visit the coast. Located in the Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi Mississippi. Have another trip planned for tomorrow and looking forward to going again and inviting some friends. Hate to say, but I eat the same thing every time I go because it's so damn good. The staff is polite and kind. You can't ask for anything more than great food with great smiling staff.

This place has just taken the throne as my favorite seafood restaurant in Biloxi. They left me blissfully, miserable, but in the good way when you're full of good food. I should start by saying that the service was phenomenal, very attentive and prompt. We were checked on by three different employees during our meal, including our server. We started with the crabcake, oh my God that freaking huge crabcake. I could've ordered that just for a meal by itself. I've never had a crabcake so packed with lump crab meat. It had fantastic taste incredible cook, and did I mention it was jampacked full of lump crab meat. The only issue that I had with this dish was I wanted more sauce with it. My main was the triple tail, and shrimp combo, which was absolutely fantastic. I'm a Gulf seafood snob, and I think I've done a few seafood reviews, this place, nailed it with both the fish and shrimp. The breading on the fish was delicate and very light, the shrimp was perfect as well. Even the fries were fantastic, Parmesan and rosemary fries paired perfectly with ranch dressing. If these things weren't hand cut, then they fooled me. Also the cocktail sauce, with just a hint of malt vinegar I think, fantastic. This is a very cool, clean and comfortable restaurant. I love the vibe in atmosphere that they've crafted here, absolutely fantastic. This is my new number one seafood restaurant in Biloxi. I would and Will drive an hour from Mobile just to come eat at this restaurant.

Flavor pact to the brim with dry pieces anywhere. Then the entrees arrived and things hit the floor. My wife ordered the coconut triple tail that was okay. The searing wasn't the best and the flavor was lackluster. I ordered the traditional fish and chips which was of Atlantic Cod. The batter had no flavor and was soggy on some of the pieces. Out of the five fish pieces I had, three were soggy and the other two tasted very fishy and cold in the center. The chips were okay as they didn't have a snap to them. We skipped dessert since this wasn't helping the night with our stomachs. Overall; they started pretty high on appetizers but fumbled after

Luckily it wasn't too busy and we were seated within 5 minutes. Hostess was organized and got everyone taken care of quickly. Started with a cocktail and Rockefeller oysters. The crème brûlée mojito tasted like a sweet caramel latte--definitely on the sweeter side. The oysters were delicious (hard to go wrong there). For mains, I devoured the linguine--loved the mushrooms in the sauce, super flavorful. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, which we've had before and loved, but this time they were pretty soggy and overly sauced, with the balsamic a bit overpowering. Shoutout to Maria, our server--she was phenomenal. Super attentive, guest-focused, and genuinely on top of everything without being intrusive. She made sure every table around us was taken care of, checked in at the right times, and even noticed we barely touched the Brussels. After we shared our feedback, she kindly removed them from the bill. Maria is also just effortlessly warm and personable--made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. Thank you, Maria! Long story short we weren't seated until about 7:15 and a couple diners who also had 6;30 reservations were seated well before us. The food was okay, Hannah was a very busy but good server. If we ever go back to Biloxi we'd find another place to eat, even if we go to the casino to gamble.

First off, our waitress was a delight and properly trained. She did a great job and was helpful in answering our questions. We started with apps of the truffle fries and the brussels. The brussels were delish; the fries were tasty but they were standard thin-cut frozen kind, and though they did have a nice flavor of truffle and a snowing of parm, they didn't taste like they were fried in truffle oil but it was spritz on after the fry. They were good, just seemed to employ shortcuts. For heavier apps we ordered the baby lamb chops... I make lamb chops at home and they're amazing; when dining out it's always hit or miss. There's a fat that lamb has that if not trimmed off it gives off a very off-putting flavor. These had that flavor and I was so disappointed. And if you see my pic of the dish, I'm not sure what was happening with the sauce sloshed all over the rim of the dish. On another note, my hubs ordered oysters and said were delish. Moving on... I chose trout topped with lump crab which was on par with other places I've had it. And we also ordered wine, which I'll note for anyone interested that the bottles are priced exactly double than if you buy it at the store. I expect there to be a mark up, but just know what to expect. Combined, it was a delightful meal in a beautiful setting with a menu and presentation that like feels they strive to keep old school finer dining alive and overall we enjoyed experiencing it even with the minor downsides of some of the dishes we had. The stars reflect my review weighing of the atmosphere, service, menu variety, quality, and price.

We ordered our food and it took probably over an hour for it to arrive. My friend ordered the seafood platter fried hard and she said it was no where near that and her corn on the cob was cold in the middle. They took it back and remade it. My entire group was pretty over waiting and we were considering taking our food to go after waiting about 45 minutes. We arrived at 6:30pm to the restaurant and didnt end up leaving until around 9:15pm. The most we got was a "thank you for your patience" and the bill of course had the automatic 18% gratuity for a large party. The food itself was tasty and I would have given 5 stars here if the service wasn't so abysmal or if they at least were apologetic about it. Anyways, I got the boudreaux bread and firecracker shrimp and both were delicious. My friends that got the seafood platters said they were alright. Some parts were great and others were decent. It's a shame that we had this experience here because this is a place I would have liked to come back to, but I will no longer have this place on my list to consider in the future.
