Mary Mahoney's is elegant and charming. The restaurant is housed in a historic home with a New Orleans vibe. The large "Old French House" is part of a cluster of buildings connected by narrow walkways and outdoor courtyards. The main courtyard is shaded by a magnificent 2,000-year-old oak tree. Dining here is upscale, with white tablecloths and a formal table setting. The staff is professional and polished. Many of the guests fit the stereotype of well-established Southern couples whose families span generations of doctors and lawyers. I felt like I had stepped into a great John Grisham novel. I started with an espresso martini, and I have to give the bartender a shout-out--it was exceptionally well made. Our party of four shared the crab claw appetizer, and it was phenomenal. Fresh and lightly fried, each claw was a little celebration. For my entrée, I chose the Queen Ixolib (Biloxi spelled backward): a white fish stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat, served with angel-hair pasta and a perfectly broiled tomato. The fish and stuffing were rich and delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and absolutely a "must-try" in Biloxi.

Wonderful atmosphere for our anniversary dinner. Service was on point, and food was delicious. Loved the chicken & sausage gumbo to start.

Had to stop in to the historic place and soke up the vibe. Very cool! a small bar but we got lucky and got a place not too long after we walked in. Just browsing the back wall was fun. You could feel the history. Ordered a bowl of the World Famous Gourmet Seafood Gumbo*. Really good. Deep flavors. Bread was awesome to clean the bowl with. Bartender was busy as there were a lot of people stopping in the check this place out and try some food. Definitely worth the stop

I highly recommend Mary Mahoney's, I got a salad and Shrimp Etouffe, it's very tasty and rich and perfect for a rainy spring day!! We were seated in a large private room because we came as tour group and they were very diligent with each course and the drinks. I believe the gentlemen that told us some very funny jokes in his Cajun accent was the owner and he was hilarious. The courtyard is beautiful and almost has a mythical feel to it. Give this place a try at least once!!

We have been meaning to come here for some time. It's a large home type feel place with a beautiful garden at the entrance. Daniel took excellent care of us. The seafood gumbo was filled with shrimp and seafood. The filet was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The French stuffed baked potato was loaded and easy to split. We hate it took so long to make it here but we plan on coming back soon

This charming restaurant is old-school wonderful! Quiet with shabby elegance, like a Biloxi restaurant should be! Rooms are small since it's a converted home with wood floors and windows with rippling original glass panels. White tablecloths complete the charm! Our server was wonderful, professional and personable! She knew the dishes, and we went with her recommendations--crab claws for the app and fish specialties for our mains! Everything was delicious with the accompanying angel hair pasta and whole baked tomato as the side! Order the tomato vinaigrette for the salad--fresh and brightly acidic! Desserts were good--bread pudding and pecan praline ice cream sundae! If you're staying at a casino across the street, this restaurant is worth the short walk!

Dining at Mary Mahoney's felt like stepping into a Southern time capsule--charmingly historic with all the hospitality to match. The restaurant is set in a beautifully preserved old home that radiates character and tradition. It's definitely got that classic Southern vibe, right down to the details. My mother uses a wheelchair, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. After checking in at the hostess stand, we were kindly escorted to the accessible back entrance to avoid the stairs. They seated us near the back door, which was also conveniently close to the restrooms--a thoughtful touch that made our visit even more comfortable. Service was outstanding from start to finish. We began with escargot and sautéed crab claws--both delicious, but the escargot's rich, garlicky sauce was hands-down our favorite for bread-dipping. The gumbo was solid, though not the best we had on this trip. My mom ordered the lamb appetizer as her entrée and was pleasantly surprised to find they offered mint jelly--a nice traditional touch. Still, she had a bit of menu envy after tasting my dish. And for good reason--my crab and shrimp-stuffed fish was the star of the night. Rich, perfectly cooked, and packed with Gulf flavor. We shared a side of potatoes that were buttery, creamy, and downright addictive. In the end, it was my favorite meal of our entire trip. Mary Mahoney's delivered an experience that was both nostalgic and memorable, with food and service that hit the mark.

We were in a private room for a party. The service was good enough. Although, our waiter did bypass us when he was getting dessert orders. We didn't even know desserts had been ordered until they all came out. My husband and I both got steaks. The last time we ate here, the fish wasn't very good so we opted for red meat instead. Maybe I should have gotten an appetizer. The steaks were flavorless. Mine was soft and cut beautifully, but just not much flavor. This is a great restaurant with lots of history, so I definitely want to go back when we aren't with such a large group.

What's the dress code for dinner?

Business casual is fine. Honestly you could wear shorts and be fine - I have. This is Biloxi not New Orleans.

I'm a woman who will be traveling alone. I sometimes find upscale restaurants are not welcoming to singles. Can be anybody speak to singles dining at this restaurant?

The bar area is perfect for singles and they will serve a full meal there.

This place has just taken the throne as my favorite seafood restaurant in Biloxi. They left me blissfully, miserable, but in the good way when you're full of good food. I should start by saying that the service was phenomenal, very attentive and prompt. We were checked on by three different employees during our meal, including our server. We started with the crabcake, oh my God that freaking huge crabcake. I could've ordered that just for a meal by itself. I've never had a crabcake so packed with lump crab meat. It had fantastic taste incredible cook, and did I mention it was jampacked full of lump crab meat. The only issue that I had with this dish was I wanted more sauce with it. My main was the triple tail, and shrimp combo, which was absolutely fantastic. I'm a Gulf seafood snob, and I think I've done a few seafood reviews, this place, nailed it with both the fish and shrimp. The breading on the fish was delicate and very light, the shrimp was perfect as well. Even the fries were fantastic, Parmesan and rosemary fries paired perfectly with ranch dressing. If these things weren't hand cut, then they fooled me. Also the cocktail sauce, with just a hint of malt vinegar I think, fantastic. This is a very cool, clean and comfortable restaurant. I love the vibe in atmosphere that they've crafted here, absolutely fantastic. This is my new number one seafood restaurant in Biloxi. I would and Will drive an hour from Mobile just to come eat at this restaurant.

Both were served with the same crispy wontons and were delicious! Flavor pact to the brim with dry pieces anywhere. Then the entrees arrived and things hit the floor. My wife ordered the coconut triple tail that was okay. The searing wasn't the best and the flavor was lackluster. I ordered the traditional fish and chips which was of Atlantic Cod. The batter had no flavor and was soggy on some of the pieces. Out of the five fish pieces I had, three were soggy and the other two tasted very fishy and cold in the center. The chips were okay as they didn't have a snap to them. We skipped dessert since this wasn't helping the night with our stomachs. Overall; they started pretty high on appetizers but fumbled after

Luckily it wasn't too busy and we were seated within 5 minutes. Hostess was organized and got everyone taken care of quickly. Started with a cocktail and Rockefeller oysters. The crème brûlée mojito tasted like a sweet caramel latte--definitely on the sweeter side. The oysters were delicious (hard to go wrong there). For mains, I devoured the linguine--loved the mushrooms in the sauce, super flavorful. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, which we've had before and loved, but this time they were pretty soggy and overly sauced, with the balsamic a bit overpowering. Shoutout to Maria, our server--she was phenomenal. Super attentive, guest-focused, and genuinely on top of everything without being intrusive. She made sure every table around us was taken care of, checked in at the right times, and even noticed we barely touched the Brussels. After we shared our feedback, she kindly removed them from the bill. Maria is also just effortlessly warm and personable--made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. Thank you, Maria! This was my first visit to Crave, and it's a nice setup with a few different eateries. I went for their "Crabster," a lobster roll with some crab and a special sauce.
