Strawberry Rhubarb pie and vanilla ice cream.
    Kevin P.

We went to the halfway house on a whim because we heard their pie was great and wanted to grab a lunch on our camping trip. The place is a hole in the wall, but don't let that fool you. The service was great. The women who took care of us treated us like family. I had an oyster Po Boy, my wife had the French dip, and kids shared a chicken strip basket. All the food was fresh, hot, and crispy! The pie. I was not disappointed! We grabbed a coconut cream pie, which we love, and they gave it to us for free because it wasn't the normal slice size they offer, which is huge by the way. We also got the strawberry rhubarb, which was divine. The crust is to die for. The perfect texture and perfectly salted crust paired perfectly with the large scoop of vanilla ice cream. This spot is a hub for its community and the story it has is beautiful. Support local. Support your fire department. If you're passing through Brinnon, make sure to stop and grab your slice of pie!

Unbelievably good food. You will be waiting a little bit because everything seems to be cooked upon ordering, but while you wait, you'll enjoy the homeyness of the environment, the friendly service (shoutout to Roz), and the many locals and their stories. Truly the best pie I've ever had in my life, willamette's pie can never ever be this good. And the best eggs Benedict. Fresh crab. Wow.

No this is not a 5 star restaurant for atmosphere, but if you are not in a hurry try this delightful hole in the wall diner. Hubby had the clam chowder and it had nice chunks of clams and also the wedge salad, both were delicious. I had the quarter pound burger and opted for salad over fries. Salad was fresh and a perfect size. Cheeseburger was so TASTY!!! Soft buns, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, pickles and their secret spread. Really one of the best cheeseburgers ever. The pie.... we ordered the Marion berry a la mode, oh my!!' So good. This place is visited by lots of locals and everyone was friendly. Will look forward to returning soon

Best clam chowder. Worth my time to review it. Worth your time to eat it.

Very delicious comfortable traditional food - just like your grandma used to make but better. Very tasty! Remember to get a pie!

There is no place to sit inside but there are sidewalk benches or you can walk as you snack. I love that you can look at all the pastries from the side walk. They not only entice you to get a pastry or three but you can plan out what you want while waiting in line. When you order, if I remember correctly, you only get your items in a box if you order more than six items. If you order less they are placed into a waxed bag. I ordered the sour cream donut, Viking cup, and a butterhorn with almonds. I loved them all! They all tasted so fresh, had a great texture, and was absolutely yummy. The Viking cup had the perfect balance of frosting to bun.

There was a line out the door even 30 minutes before closing, but it went pretty fast and the shelves were also well stocked with pastries; not bare like I expected them to be coming so soon before closing. The person behind the counter explained that the Viking cups were all 20% off as the batch that day came out with irregular shapes. Taste wise it wasn't bad, tastes like a regular cinnamon roll but with more of that homemade touch you get with good quality ingredients and handmade cream cheese frosting (the contrast from store bought to homemade is big when it comes to cream cheese). The frosting had good texture and surprisingly I liked it better than the actual roll, especially since I'm known to always remove cream cheese icing. I think the roll would have been better if it had been served warm. Overall it was not bad, a little sweeter than I would have preferred, but I'm also not a huge cinnamon roll or cream cheese fan because of how sweet they always are in general, so that could just be a personal preference. Want to try the pecan roll or any of the cookies next time I visit, those sounded promising as well. Prices here are also pretty decent considering how touristy this place is, and coming from Seattle, anything under $5 is a relief. Definitely will become a place I hit every time I'm in Poulsbo!

Both the Long John and Puffer were super old and stale, maybe 1 to 2 days old. Had to toss both of them after one bite. I was told the Gau was made on Tuesday night, which makes it 3 days old now. I even tried putting the items in the microwave (per the owner's advice) for 15 seconds and it still didn't taste good. I've honestly never been told by any bakery to go home and put their donuts and pastries in the microwave ‍ Why would a bakery even sell 1 to 3 day old items? Just donate them to the homeless or something BUT don't sell them for full price to your customers! I mean come on... I even reached out to the owner via Instagram and she came at me with all the excuses saying things like "I am sorry you're not happy with your purchase" and "I really don't know what you would like to do here." No resolution and/or refund was even offered. So disappointed in this place. I really wanted to like it too! Lesson Learned. I will NOT be coming back here.
