Me and my colleague decide to have a drink after dinner and Hamilton was right across the hotel we are staying at. It was a Sunday evening so the crowd was thin. The bartender was new but extremely nice. The owner of the bar was present as well and we got talking to him. Extremely nice guy with a good intention of making every customer happy. He made us and others some Irish curry fries (or chips as they call em) after I mentioned loving them and they were great! It is indeed a fairly new place and a good place to watch sports. I think some of the feedback (existing reviews) will go a long way in making the service consistently better. I think the staff is excellent in temperament and the food menu looks very good. I hope the place develops into a local hotspot. read more

What a great place to enjoy brunch after a Sunday wedding! The Hamilton was easily able to accommodate a group of nearly 30 people on their patio for a Sunday brunch. The outdoor area was well shaded and was decorated in such a way as to feel that you are in a secluded area despite being in a busy part of Brookline. The food selection was outstanding, serving both brunch and lunch, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The staff was accommodating to dietary restrictions from several in our group. The drinks were great too! Above all was the service we received. Both waitresses as well as the manager of the restaurant went above and beyond to ensure our entire party had their orders delivered in a timely manner and were attentive to drink levels. They had great personality and their interaction with our group was outstanding. Additionally, we had a wedding cake from a separate venue which they not only refrigerated for us beforehand but also cut for us when the time came. Their timing, courtesy, attentiveness, accommodating atmosphere and attitude all made this a fantastic dining experience and we will absolutely come back! read more

My family and I are staying across the street for a doctor's appointment in the morning and decided to get a late night bite at Hamilton's. We were NOT disappointed! We were promptly greeted by the friendly bartender- bonus he had a cheery Irish accent and seated in a comfy booth. Jenna was our server and from start to finish she was on it! We had the Brussels (amazing I wish I had more), a caesar salad and the BEST cottage pie either of us have ever had!! I had an espresso martini (dark) that was so well balanced it went down a little too smooth. While walking by Hamilton's restaurant I noticed an advertisement in the their window for a "lobster roll" with a picture of the item showing big chunks of lobster on a buttered toasted roll. I ordered it as a take out and when I got home this "lobster roll" had finely chopped up CRABMEAT as a filler with a couple of small pieces of lobster on a dry thick roll. When I called the restaurant I asked about the contents of this meal and bluntly asked if it was made with crabmeat and the manager replied with "yes". I told her that not only was it falsely advertised as lobster at $16 I received chopped up crabmeat and charged $17. Although she gave me my money back and removed the sign from the window (upon my request) it was extremely deceiving and unethical. I am very concerned about what else they do for shortcuts at this restaurant. I will not be eating there again! read more

No garnishes no fresh flavors but priced like a high end restaurant. Entrees did not come out at same time despite one being a salad. Similarly the renovation is unimaginative. With plywood paneling. Once orders were put in for drinks they had/ could make, Incorrect drinks were served and Service was slow (took nearly 15 minutes to get a the cocktail we ordered even though the restaurant was empty.) I stay pretty close to this place so I have been here on many occasions. Food and drinks are good. The late night menu is awesome. When my birthday rolled up, I decided to have a private dinner with my close friends here and it was worth every penny I spent. Greg and JK helped me customize the dinner to my setting and they even allowed me to customize the drinks for the night. Greg is awesome with events management and he kept giving good ideas to make the dinner look special. The food was good and half my guests had the ribs which were delicious and came right off the bone. The service was great too and they set up the place on time. This place is fantastic. Great staff, great drinks, and food at great prices. Been there for a drink with my wife, and we've had a lovely time. Able to just post up by a window have a wonderful evening. I've also been there with groups of 20+ and it's been equally wonderful. The back rooms make for great event spaces and the atmosphere is always friendly. They know how to take care of a customer and even if it's your first time in you feel like it's your local pub. read more

I have been here 3 times and have not had the best experience. The restaurant itself is great, the bar is great, the seating and the atmosphere is great. The food and drinks on the other hand need to be overhauled. Twice I had warm beer that needed to be sent back, the bartender was not happy about that. Their menu is okay, they are trying too hard and it show with the quality and taste of the food. I have had the baby back ribs which were so dry and chewy and smothered in sauce it was horrible. Their burgers had no flavor in the meat and was just okay, I also had a pork chop that was overcooked and covered in glaze it was like eating saw dust. This place has great potential, but the menu needs some fine tuning and they need a new chef. Hopefully someone will come in and help correct their weaknesses. Otherwise the ambiance in the restaurant is great and it's in a great location. read more

The Hamilton has been a much-needed addition to Coolidge Corner. Long story short: food is excellent, service is friendly and fast, and the beer list is substantial. Plenty of table seating even when it's busy. The area was in need of a neighborhood pub that has good food and isn't insufferable on busy nights. This fills that void, and the Irish hospitality is a charming addition. We have been coming here pretty consistently since it opened and will continue to do so. read more

Tiny menu with overpriced food because it's Brookline. Ordered the 1 and only burger on the tiny menu, a bacon cheeseburger that cane with about 15 dark brown and overcooked fries. The girlfriend got the fish n chips and also had the same amount of overcooked fries. The worst part about our experience was sitting in the sweltering heat inside Hamilton's. We thought by going here, we'd escape the oppressive heat and high humidity. But they decided to save a few bucks I guess and had the windows open and no A/C on. Wouldn't recommend coming here. The food menu is very small and they have now overcooked my food twice here very badly! Covid precautions are not being followed. I saw every single employee pull their mask down many times during my 90 min meal. The host's nose was hanging out of his mask, only fixed it after I spoke up. I also saw our waiter pull down his mask to log our order, put his mask back on and then walk over to our table without washing or sanitizing his hands. Their behavior was explained when I realized Greg, the manager, had worst manners of them all. Pulling his mask down while entering the kitchen, and to answer the phone, then eating at the bar, with his fingers in his mouth while eating fries. We paid/tipped, and on the way out, I told the waiter that we would never come back. We were then followed out of the restaurant by manager, Greg. He stopped us to argue with us about Covid rules, not to apologize for risking our health. Don't eat here. Your health is more important than an over priced meal. read more

Had a very strange dining experience here. We were sitting outside enjoying a nice night in Coolidge corner after putting in our food and drink orders it was about a full hour before our waiter came back to our table. Once I did get his attention he had forgotten about the orders we put in for food/ drink. We proceeded to wait about another 20 minutes and I asked if there were any updates on our beers. He had forgotten again. I told him just if we could get the food that would be great as we had been waiting for dinner about 90 minutes. He said he would get right on it, and then brought out the wrong meal. I was just happy when he finally brought the check so we could go home and make dinner for ourselves. This restaurant was new this year and go some bad reviews early on but it has really turned itself around and is a great space for events, a great restaurant and great bar! The food is great, the atmosphere is wonderful and the music is good. There are tons of TVs for a game day. There is also a great private room for parties s this place is great for watching the game, hanging out for the night or planning an event. The staff was friendly, and very accommodating. I have been coming to Hamilton since the week they opened. Great service, great food. The buffalo chicken wings and tenders are delicious and come in a giant proportion which us great. This bar is a great place to watch sports games including the 6 nations Rugby games, the Patriots, Celtics or Bruins. I usually come here with friends and teammates.. Came here to watch the tail end of a college football game on NYE. The staff was so nice and so accommodating to put the game on, unlike the previous bar we were at. They have great, local craft beers on tap and a delicious late-night food menu. Those fingerling potatoes with truffle oil and parm were a definite hit. Been to Hamilton's a couple times now and I really like the place. Very relaxing atmosphere, good lighting, and a nice beer list. Only reason they get 4 instead of 5 stars is the last time we were there there was also some sort of a private party. Two different food orders that I put in were never fulfilled. Went here for a quick drink and ended up staying for a few hours. Our bartender, Tony was amazing. I think he said he works Sunday Monday Wednesday, but he should work 24/7. I ordered 3 drinks in a row that they didn't have and it sounds like a bad situation, but Tony joked and made sure I found a drink I wanted. He let me try a huge helping of the beer and made me forget I had trouble finding a drink in the first place. Then we ended up getting dinner and he made us amazing drinks on top of that. With his good company he helped make our night amazing. I tried to tell the manager, Samantha, and she immediately got us a round and hung out with us. They were all so cool and fun and welcoming. I live in Brookline and have been to all the bars in the area, this is the best bar in Brookline. I went there for the first time this week to celebrate my birthday. Super super friendly environment, nice staff, very good food, generous portions and the prices were right. I really liked the vibe! Big plus the live music with great rock songs.
