This is a lovely place to stay! Walking distance to fast food, groceries and Starbucks. The rooms look and smell freshly cleaned. Staff members are friendly and readily available. Complementary breakfast has good selection and good food. I really liked that they replenished our toiletries when they cleaned our room without being asked. Down side: no pool, elevator is incredibly slow for only a three story building. Overall, I would definitely stay here again! read more

This is our third time here, and each time seems to be better than the last. Check-in time is at 3pm and we arrived a little after 2pm. We weren't sure if we would be able to check in early, so we took a chance and when we arrived we were greeted by Amber. This young lady went above and beyond to get us into our room ASAP. Amber, thank you for being so kind and helpful and this goes for the other ladies in housekeeping who were also very friendly and helpful. We got a great room and a follow up call from Amber to make sure we were happy with everything . Why stay anywhere else. read more

I love this hotel, I never want to leave lol! It's very nice, super clean and classy! They do offer breakfast included with your stay. They had waffles, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit, yogurt and some delicious bagel things with bacon, egg and sausage. Fisherman wharf is only 20 min away, Pebble Beach is also 15 minutes from here there are fast food restaurants all around and highway 1 is right around the corner. I have nothing bad to say about this place, all I know is I will be back! read more

I visited this hotel back on January 19, 2019. My stay was by far the best hotel Ive ever stayed at. It is one of the smaller hotels around Monterey but they have the best customer service for sure. I booked here because of the reviews and because it was local to the Aquarium and dinning. I was visiting to celebrate my friends birthday and WOW this hotel went out of their way to make my friend and I feel super special. I booked online and noted that it was my friends birthday that i was celebrating, when i arrived the front desk ladies were super nice and were very helpful with giving us suggestions for dinning "Old Fishman's Grotto" the best food I have ever ate!!! "They also gave me a coupon for a free appetizer for Old Fishman's Grotto". When i arrived to the room, they had a gift basket, complimentary, for my friend. The gift basket had a handwritten note which made her smile and made her feel so special! The room was very clean and they even provided a curtsey call to make sure everything was up to our liking. We did ask for additional pillows and they were super fast to bring them to us. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and id love to stay again. At first glance the room was nice enough but after there for a short time I noticed ants all over our stuff. I called the front desk lady who was nice, she came in my room and sprayed ant spray and said it was a bad time of year for ants . Then when it was time to go to sleep neither of the beds were comfortable to say the least. My two younger kids that weigh nothing fell right to sleep but my older daughter and I got zero sleep. For last minute place to find in all of monterey or carmel I was very happy with the stay and thenlocation. We came in about 8:30 am asked for early checked in. We were called in about 11:30 which was absolutely amazing and accomodating. We ended up going to the aquarium but at 1pm we were able to check in without issues. Front desk lady was so amazing. There is a small snackbar below too make any purchases to the left of the front desk with small couches to relax at. If your forget any items they will offer any assistance at the front desk( i forgot my toothbrush). Walking distance food places: 1. In and out ( across the street!) Left at the light 2. Starbucks 3. Mcdonalds 4. Smart and final Right past embassy suites to the right 5. Chilis restaurant 6. Embassy suites bar and restaurant There a beautiful lake to enjoy if u want to walk across and enjoy. Sr-1 freeway n/s are right there to get to carmel or pacific grove etc. Literally 6-10 minutes of beaches, monterey, pier, carmel etc. theres a gas station right passed the overpass for any gas needs (also walking distance). Its very quiet right off the border off seaside. The parking is definitely limited but was almost completely empty for us when we came in saturday. We go into the room and omg, its enormous! Glass door showers huge space for the bathroom sliding doors with a huge mirror and lots of soace for the sink. Neutrogena branded soaps, lotion shampoo. The king bed is firm yet still soft so big and comfy. Usb and plug in outlets on the lamp and table of each side of the bed with a pull out table drawer to put ur phone or drinks. Theres a safe lock inside the cabinets below the tv!!! No way!! Heating and air conditioning!!! Yes please! Tv with limited cable channels but good enough. I think theres a fee to get more channels or premium internet. Of course, a nice little fridge for ur extra food. 6-10am a beautiful breakfast looking bar setup. Mini muffins, english muffins, bagels, butter , cream cheese, make ur own waffle machines !! Two to be exact which, takes 2 minutes with a timer that bEeps when ready all instructions posted and easy to understand. Jam, scrambled eggs, mini cut sliced pork sausages? , a juice machine with cranberry, oj, apple etc. cereal bar , fresh fruit. U just cant go wrong. It was quiet and we slept oh so amazingly. Theres 3 floors so if u dont want to hear heavy walkers above u request a top room. Only heard one walker in the morning but really didnt bother me I was sick kinda of making it through our planned weekend so all i can say is the heater came in handy. The sheets and white fluffy warm comforter kept us so warm and i didnt mind actually sleeping in the sheets it was so clean! Pillows are fluffy with feathers? The couch!? Its a pull out extra bed! No way! They do have a small fitness center i think it was treadmill, a bike machine and something else i cant remember. Maybe they have one at every level? Nice elevator only 1 to get to all 3 levels and two luggage pullers for all ur stuff. Definitely a plus. I have a bad back so carrying stuff is def not fun. Theres also an open coffee bar all day with hot water, 6 diff. Types of tea, 3 diff types of sugar coffe cups, and holders for ur hot drinks. Lots of little tables and places to eat. For the quiet stay and comfy room cery pleased. I can say this was a good option away from the tourist areas because i definitely got my sleep. Very nice location if u want to save money on food since everything u need is close by. I would definitely recommend unless ur looking for a place with a bar and restaurant below the hotel. Then this is not it. But u can always walk across to the embassy suites for that extra luxury. This is for you couples or small families who want some peace and quiet from all the downtown areas. Definitely a nice upgraded hotel. Loved the smell of fresh clean laundry/sheets in the morning. read more

This hotel was a nice surprise. My husband and I stayed one night and the friendly front desk employee gave a bag with waters and snacks since we are gold members. There was also a basket in our room with snacks and apple juice for my husbands birthday, along with a birthday card. They room was very clean, the water pressure in the shower was great and breakfast wasn't bad for covid. I had a bagel with cream cheese and a bowl of Cheerios. My only complaint was I had a little trouble getting comfortable with the pillows but we had a great stay. read more

Stayed for a night. Lil pricey but obviously because it's right next to del Monte beach. Great location. Clean room. Comfy bed and blanket. Served breakfast to go even during pandemic. Only downside bout the hotel is that there aren't a lot of parking spaces. If it's a fully booked hotel the parking will be terrible. We had just come from the Hilton in San Francisco downtown, and this Hampton was WORLDS better in terms of cleanliness and friendliness. I would stay here again without question. I unknowingly left my beloved sunglasses in our room and the front desk called and asked for our home address and mailed me the glasses. The only negative the parking situation not a lot of parking spaces if you get back late from dinner or night out gonna have to double park. Just finished a short pleasure stay here. Convenient location to Aquarium, Fisherman's Wharf and Old downtown. The hotel offers 2 days for the price of one admission to Aquarium. If you have children, this is a great option to allow you to spend time looking at what the children are interested in without trying to squeeze it all in. Lots of good restaurants close by. The hotel staff gave us excellent suggestions! We especially enjoyed the local breweries in downtown and LaLla near the Aquarium. Regardless of where you eat, save room for ice cream at Revival. A shout out to the breakfast ladies at the hotel. So gracious, friendly, and hard working at keeping the food options available and the area spotless. Bed and room was more comfortable and spacious then our Hilton in San Francisco. Quiet and comfortable. read more

First time staying at this Hampton Inn in Monterey. I've stayed at the one in Union City and the front staff was lacking customer service. At Hampton Inn in Monterey Hope at the front desk was amazing! I was checked in, in less than 5 minutes, I had a surprise waiting for me from them since it was my Birthday. While this hotel may have an unusual exterior design, the interior is as nice as any Hampton that I've seen! Everything seems new and freshly updated inside the rooms. Beds were comfy and rooms seemed bigger than other Hampton Inn rooms I've stayed in before. The breakfast was on point and the location of the hotel was not far from Fisherman's Warf or Cannery Row. I have stayed at a few newly renovated Hampton inns in the past and this one was just as nicely kept up as far as level of cleanliness and facility as the others. but the thing that REALLY put it over the top for me was the AMAZING customer service at the front desk that we got. There is a Fiji Indian guy named Chris who really impressed us. Chris gave us really great insider tips for the aquarium, free parking and locals restaurants info in monterey and was super friendly and helpful. He was like so friendly that you just wanna hang out with him longer at the front desk just to shoot the breeze with him! He sometimes worked with another hotel front desk staff member who I think was also Fiji Indian? (not sure) who had glasses but I didn't get his name but he was also super friendly. Also, there was another woman named Hope who was also so friendly and helpful and responsive to us whenever we had an issue. Hope and Chris and that other guy had SUCH a stellar happy attitude - which I have honestly never experienced with front desk staff before of any hotel I've been to. I don't know for sure but it seems to us that the hotel is a family run and you can feel a sort of "family run" feel to the hotel even though it's a corporate Hilton chain. The breakfast was also amazing. I expected the standard pastries and coffee, but there was HOT protein - eggs/omelets/french toast on different days, sausage, yoplait yogurt, hard boiled eggs, nicer pastries, DIY waffles, oatmeal, and PINEAPPLE. I loved that there was more options then just cold sweet carbs. I learned that they actually have an in house chef that comes each morning to cook breakfast fresh. The staff even let us entertain our guests in the empty breakfast area during dinner time with our own food from IN and Out Burger across the street. That was super nice of them and it made a huge difference for us in being able to spend time with family without cramming into our hotel rooms. Thanks Hampton Inn Monterey for making us feel like VIPs and that we were well take care of and that you guys genuinely cared about your guests. It was just such a different feel from the standard corporate hotel feel. read more

Hotel has been updated and it was nicely done. Appears to be very clean. They only have a limited snack bar; there is no restaurant. So if you want food and/or a drink, you need to go out. My biggest COMPLAINT is that there isnt much in the way of privacy with the way the bathrooms are set up. It's just a sliding barn door. read more

Had a great experience at the Hampton Inn in Monterey. The room was well appointed. The bathroom was spacious with a large shower. The bed linens were high quality and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The front desk check in process went smoothly. As a Hilton honors member, we had pre-selected our king sized room on the second floor. There are no 1st floor rooms. The 1st floor is dedicated to common areas. The complimentary breakfast offered lots of options. Highly satisfied with our stay and would frequent this hotel again. read more

What a great hotel. Newly updated, clean rooms, breakfast was great, access to everything and even though we were off a highway it wasn't noisy. The gym is small, one treadmill and one eliptical but if you can get out for a walk/run I recommend it. The rooms are spacious snd clean. There were 4 of us, my husband and 2 kids and it was plenty big. It's about a 5 minute drive to the wharf and 10 minute drive to the aquarium/cannery row. Highly recommend. read more

The room and hotel were very nice. However, the bed was too hard. We had to sleep on the pullout on our second night. The pullout was soft, but you could feel the support bars. I would choose a different hotel if I was in the area again because of the bed. That is important to me when I stay in a hotel. The complimentary breakfast was nice though. read more

Great, clean room, clean crispy sheets, newly remodeled hotel, nice location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast with pretty good variety of food, one minus was when I was taking shower and somebody was taking shower (or bath) at the same time in room above or below mine and there was no water left for me.
