One of my favorite Chinese places!! Nice clean space, super fast service (food came out ~ 10 min after ordering), and easily accessible menu (both Mandarin and English). The braised bbq pork buns and Singapore noodles were outstanding and authentic - exactly the same flavor profiles that I grew up with. Roast duck and bbq pork fried rice plate was delicious. I heard about their pork buns, I tried their pork buns, and now I love their pork buns!!! It's a small cute restaurant with strong authentic Chinese flavors!! I've been here many times and the things that I look forward to are the pork buns. They come with 2 and are smaller than they originally made them but still packs the same flavor punch!! I've tried a ton of there main dishes, my favorite so far is the beef hofen with the gravy sauce!! Everything else has been good. I would try to avoid this place during busy hours due to the little spacing they have. I had to wait 30 mins my last time. If they could get a bigger place I would come much more often. Han is still great! Since I wrote my earlier review, they've updated the space. It's cozier now and has a trendier vibe with all the light wood accents. The noodle bowls are always a solid option and the portions are great (take those leftovers home!). Each of the bowls come with a specific type of noodle. My pick is usually something with thick white (udon). You have to get their pork belly steamed buns and scallion pancakes too. I recently tried their Dan Dan Noodles and it's definitely my new favorite dish on the menu. So much of that tingly heat that I love from the Szechuan peppercorns. I'll also consider the spicy diced chicken in the future too. I had a bite of it and it was gooood. One thing I need to start doing more is ordering takeout. Several people were popping in and out during my last visit grabbing their orders, which makes for a great option on nights when you don't want to eat out, but don't want to make dinner at home. It can get a little busy so plan ahead or prepare for a little wait. It's worth it for those noodle bowls! read more

I always loved going there because their food is amazing!! It is harder to find any authentic Asian food here in Rochester. I'm a native Chinese which is I know which food is authentic or Americanized version. Every time I go there and I always would order their noodles and pork belly. It's very delicious and I would recommend you all to try it!!! Han is my go to for takeout - consistent, fast, inexpensive, and delicious. I have yet to try anything I haven't been completely smitten with. Like most Yelpers, I have to agree that the pork belly buns are a MUST try. At $4, they simply cannot be beat. I tend to keep it pretty basic and go with chicken lo mein or a pork based broth bowl as well. Either option leaves me with 2-3 meals for the week and costs me less than $10. Girlfriends and I also go and eat in fairly consistently for the BYOB. We grab our fave bottle(s) of wine and they are super welcoming with cups and anything else you might need. I have never had to wait for a table and find the wait staff attentive and ready to answer any questions you might have on their extensive menu. Order some takeout or go eat in ASAP. read more

It's clear the secret is out on Han Noodle Bar. Our Noodle stuffing party kicked off with the veggie Vietnamese spring rolls and pork belly steamed buns. Both hit the spot. From there we continued on with an order of the Dan Dan Noodles and the spicy chopped chicken broth bowl with "thick white noodles" --which I believe were udon? The rainy weather was the perfect match for the spicy broth/flavoring in both of these dishes. I have a serious seafood/shellfish allergy and was surprised by how many options there were for me on the menu and appreciated our waitress' patience with my questions. We ordered the Pork Belly Buns and Squid for appetizers and the Crispy noodles as our sharing entree. The Pork Buns could be addictive. Crispy and meaty. I've eaten some variation of this dish in NYC, but these are much better my friend was not to pleased with them though. The squid on a very light tempura-like batter came with a peanut sauce. Nice and firm. The Crispy Pan Noodles a very large portion, good to share it, topped with different vegetables, meat. seafood. Delicious! Green tea was the perfect meal drink. I have to admit, despite being a Harrison Ford fan, I did not come to Han Solo. I came with a friend. I feel like I failed not only HF, but amateur helicopter pilots that are a health hazard to the general public and way out of touch with reality, everywhere. #Fail. The customer service is absolutely top notch. The girl was lovely on the phone, and even more lovely in person. And she let me use her bathroom even though I only had a tiny little... er... order. And the bathroom was really cool, with chopsticks used as a lock. You can see it in the pictures. I did not enjoy the "star dish" which was the pork belly buns, similar to friend Hannah. It tastes like warmed bread rolls with a little grizzly sweet n sour Chinese-American pork inside. Meh. The owner wrote me a nice note so I went back and tried something more "up my alley" which was in my case, the Basil Cumin Broth, extra extra extra spicy. I also did not enjoy the Lamb Cumin. It's my fave dish in some places, but others don't make it the way I like. It's a little expensive here, and a little too pasty, not moist, and not as tasty as I'd hope. Now since they were so lovely, I gave them a them a generous 4/5. But based on the Basil Cumin Broth, it has to go up to a 5. I got it "to go" and had some of it without the broth, and it tasted great. It had a few big chunks of shrimp and crab in there, and tons of noodles and beansprouts and other goodies. My one complaint is that there wasn't enough seafood in there for my liking, and with the price close to $10, there could have been a little bit more. When I got home I heated up the broth and added the "extra A9 sauce" and the "hot oil" to the mix, and my goodness, it was fantastic. You can see in the picture what the final dish looked like after I concocted it up the way I wanted it. Bear in mind, I had to ask for extra spicy, then extra A9 sauce to make it more spicy, and they gave me hot oil as well... to make it that flavourful and good. But it was so worth it, I loved it. It filled me up completely, too, just like I wish Harrison Ford would (bats eyelashes). I highly recommend their broth noodle dishes, and next time I'm in town I will come back and try the DanDan (which the owner recommended) or something else that catches my fancy. And yes, I, like everyone, wanted some of Han's Noodle. I won't lie. Unfortunately that noodle belongs to Princess Leia, and always will. So be it. At least I didn't come to Han Solo. Well, I did. Over and over actually. Broke the pause button. Specifically the "I love you", "I know" scene and then him getting frozen in that very sexual pose. But I digress. read more

Another disappointing experience at Han. Placed an order over the phone for spicy diced chicken and veggie lo mein. Picked up the bag, went home, and I had veggie lo mein and two(!) peanut chicken. After returning to Han, I again asked for spicy diced chicken. The gentleman at the counter said he had repeated my order to me over the phone, but I did not and would not have ordered peanut chicken. I should have checked before I left but they were almost closed. I went home and I had received spicy miso chicken, which is a far cry from spicy diced chicken. I would have gone back a third time, but they were already closed. Han is where I've always been able to expect great Chinese food for a good price. The better it looks inside, the worse the actual food service seems to get, which is an immense shame. read more

We went on a very warm day and wanted to sit outside but we're told they wouldn't service us out there which I didn't understand because it was one of the nicest days in Rochester. Throughout our dining experience the waitresses were very nice, however. I wish they had pad thai on their menu but was told they have it as a special sometimes. It is a very popular dish and they should have it all the time. I wasn't a big fan of spring rolls fried, nor the basil cilantro noodle bowl, there wasn't a lot of flavor in it and way too many noodles. The shrimp in it however was perfectly cooked and delicious. I will come back to try something different and hopefully I go to the day they have pad thai :-) My boyfriend had the special of the whole red snapper and he absolutely loved it. Han Noodle Bar is a solid choice for noodles. I love that they use "No Fusion, No Gimmicks" as the slogan on their website. And that's exactly what this place is -- a small but wonderful spot of Chinese and other Asian noodle specialties. I stopped in on a whim for dinner today and got a scallion pancake and ginger scallion noodles to go. It only took about 10 minutes from the time I placed my order to the time it was in my hands. The scallion pancake ($3) was the best I've had in Rochester. They're so simple, but I've often had some from other restaurants that were just too oily. This one was perfectly crispy but also chewy (you know, that perfect scallion pancake texture) and the dipping sauce was so vinegar-y that it kind of punched me in the face, but I say that as a compliment because I loved it. The noodles were a huge portion for only $8! It's a basic dish with thin yellow noodles, oil, scallions, and shiitake mushrooms but it was so good and exactly what I was craving. Again, there was oil, but not too much, and the scallion flavor was delicious. Highly recommend. Han Noodle Bar is one of my top spots for noodles because they have a pretty big menu and everything I've tried has been top notch! read more

Han Noodle Bar is so good! It's the only noodle house that I know of in Rochester, I get the beef tendon noodle soup with thick white noodles every time and I never get disappointed! The portion sizes are also very large, I'm always STUFFED afterward. It's so nice to have a place with very good soup noodles, especially in this cold Rochester weather. We have been coming to Han for the last 7 years since our son started college in Rochester. Over the years we have tried almost every dish on the menu and loved them all! Our favorites have been D14, spicy diced chicken, firecracker fish, beef brisket clay pot, eggplant bean curd clay pot, and beef tendon Noodle soup. Sadly, our daughter just graduated and now we will have to plan a vacation to Rochester so we can get Han. We are bummed that with covid delays we were not able to eat in the new location before we left. We added sirrachi to the sauce tho. My friend enjoyed the shrimp special and I had pork lo mein. The shrimp were plentiful and huge. The sauce added walnuts to the meal making it distinctly different and tasty. The pork was perfect. Thin strips -- who knew they arent supposed to be burnt? This chef. All the veggies were fresh. Han is the best. High quality ingredients, theirs broths are so delicious, we could simply drink them. Our favorites are: 1.spiced diced chicken, the red peppers can be infused into oils. 2. Szechuan hot pot cod fillet --best soup/stew 3. Shrimp spring rolls 4. Pork belly or any of the fresh buns 5. Salt and pepper shrimp/calamari 6. Fried rice is a meal 7. Sesame chicken--real chicken if you want a classic 8. Singapore meifun, I've never liked meifun, but it's has a yellow curry pork, and chicken. 9. Beef hofen with gravy, it's pad siew with greens. The beef is amazing, it's so tender. We order 2 meals, broths, fried rices and it lasts is usually 3-4 days!! I was sick once and ordered broths and they packed ginger for tea. The amount of flavor in each dish was underwhelming and the pad thai spice/sauce was entirely different than any other pad thai I've eaten and had a sandlike texture. Was excited to enjoy for my birthday dinner but... After tonight, never eating here again. Cold cake was placed on hot food and it's basically ruined. Rice is so greasy/oily it soaked through the rice container and both bags(paper and plastic). The order was completely wrong. The sauces were so oily it was like eating a syrup. I used to love this place but after this I'll never eat here again. Extremely disappointed. Happy birthday to me... not! At least DoorDash refunded us... only highlight of the night! read more

The food was pretty good/authentic here, if you order the Chinese dishes. Pho, not so much. The best dish was probably the Ho-fun/Chow-foon noodles. The pork belly bun was better than average, the pork dumplings were average - meat was a bit rough and wrap isn't hand made. I ordered the duck noodle soup which was great except for there was barely any duck meat! So i asked the lady and she brought me another bowl with more meat. I'd recommend this place, it's cute and has authentic chinese noodles. read more

Excellent!!! I think Chinese food occasionally has a fast food reputation. Kind of low quality, unhealthy, fried, etc. Han Noodle puts a cork in that. They have a full menu from vegetarian, to alllll the meats. We had a great experience. We enjoyed some beef Pho. But what I appreciated was when we ordered the Pho, we selected vegetarian broth and an employee from the restaurant called to see if we wanted to make sure our food was all vegetarian... very considerate although we didn't need it! read more

This place is definitely worth checking out. Seems to be a big fan of the locals considering there was a 20 minute wait at 5:15pm on a very snowy Friday. Just while reviewing the menu in the small waiting area, we were told by an older couple how incredible the food was. They gave us all kinds of recommendations. The food really was outstanding. As someone who grew up with parents that owned a Chinese Fast-food restaurant, Han Noodle Bar definitely hits the note between authentic and traditional Chinese dishes as well as that American Chinese Fast food that I grew up on. I can switch between getting Chicken & Broccoli and Salt and Pepper Squid, and both are delicious! The staff and servers are always friendly and the food is usually served or delivered promptly. They give you a lot of food for the amount you pay, so I often tend to have leftovers as well, which is really nice. Their ingredients look really fresh and of good quality, and I don't think I've ever had a bad meal there. Their clay pot meals were so flavorful, and I can't wait until dining in is safe to do so again! Until then, I'll probably just order something every week read more
