Denton doesn't have ramen spot around and I was excited to try it here . I know it was opened around two years  back but I didn't have the chance until last Thursday. I really wanted to like this ramen place since I had heard good reviews of it's another branch at Carrollton. However me and my partner are both very disappointed. He got the seafood ramen and I got the tonkastsu with extra pork chasu.We both found the broth r the  since the broth was flavourless. Ramen is all about the noodle and broth . Very good. Ramen was flavorful. Presentation was great. Quick service. My one compliant was that the beef in my ramen didn't taste like anything. It was so dry it just fell apart when I tried to eat it and no it wasn't that tender. I did finally try it with my spoon and it was blah. I went to dine in and was told I could only get to go order. The restaurant was about 40% full. Wasn't closing time. I was confused and asked why when it wasn't closing time and they had customers dining in. The man at the front counter told me the cook wanted to go home early. My family and I were looking for a ramen shop and Hanabi Ramen was the closest! Their ramen shop is on a corner of a street so be warned getting parking is quite difficult. As for the food, I got the Kara Miso Ramen which was the spicy version of the Miso Ramen (it was $12). The ramen came with corn, green onions, bamboo shoots, grounded meat, egg, and chasu. It was tasty but not the absolute best compared to the other spicy miso ramens ive had. My sisters regular tonkatsu ramen was not salty and flavorful at all and did not come with the bamboo it was supposed to come with. It will satisfy your ramen cravings for sure though!! read more

I just hate when restaurants blatantly lie to customers. If you don't want to be open until 9 then close at 8:30. But when I come in 20 minutes before close and want some food and I get told "we're closed", it's pretty upsetting. It's 100% a lie, the open sign is on, customers are eating, people are being served and the door is unlocked. All for some mediocre ramen. Many better options around. Wasn't my choice to eat here but I'm glad they turned us away so I don't have to lower my standards on what service and food should be like. read more

For the $50 I spent as this establishment the service was poor. No one greeted us coming in or going out. Not even our server. Who also moved away the "scan me" for the menu. That I was TRYING to actually scan to see the menu. I guess he got offended cause I moved it right back infront of me..we didn't see him for 7whole minutes. Then our order goes in. We order split half/half ramen me and my friend. The first bowl comes out with both of our ramen in the same bowl to share. He said "the cook" made a mistake. So why couldn't they just pour it back into the right bowl for each of us? Easy fix. Lazy people. We had to switch our plates back and fourth just to eat. This place isn't what it used to be at all. The service wasn't good. They brought out our appetizers after my main course. Why? They offered refills twice but never gave us any until the end of the meal. The food wasn't very good. The rice was bland and boring. The ramen was good but the pork was grey. I don't think it's supposed to be that color at all. The karragge was not fantastic. The slaw was literally just cut up dry cabbage. Ew. The curry was placed into the tiniest bowl ever and on the verge of spilling. It wasn't a great meal, and I'm glad we didn't get to-go plates. This used to the the ramen place of Denton. Now it's just overpriced emptiness accompanied by YouTube top 20 hits on speaker. Very good ramen & small dishes. I've been there a couple of times and have had the age gyoza (I call it a fried pot sticker) & shrimp shumai (steamed dumpling filled with shrimp & onions) for my starters. I believe I prefer the shrimp shumai, the the gyoza is good. For my ramen dish, my first visit I Tokyo Tonkotsu which was thick, rich with a very deep flavor. The fatty pork was flavorful & fall apart tender. And the noodles were thin & toothsome, which is just the way I like my noodles. The egg was a bit set and could have been cooked a bit less so it would blend with the broth for me, but that's just personal preference. On my second visit I went with the spicy Tokyo Tonkotsu which to me was even better than the original. The spice helps with the rich broth. The spice could be even amped up more for me, but still definitely recommend over the original. read more

The restaurant is clean and well kept. The building is very nice with lots of natural light and plenty of seating. Parking was very easy. So far, even though the place is usually full, I haven't had to wait overlong. The servers were pleasant and attentive. Update on my older review. I went back here after many months and it was better than before. This time I got the Baisen Miso Ramen and it was much better and more flavorful than the Tonkotsu that I have gotten previously. The Baisen had a pretty good flavor whereas the Tonkotsu was very bland and thin and just not good. The chasu was also more tender this time than before when it was tough and rubbery. This is still not even close to the best ramen that I've had but it is better than it used to be and I'll probably come back. I do wish we had a great ramen place in Denton. read more

I haven't even been able to try the food at this restaurant because it is 100% dine in. No takeout or delivery options?! They are losing probably more than half of the business they would have if they would start serving those on the go and those at home. Lame sauce. UPDATE: I am changing my previous rating of 1 star. The two times I have eaten here, I have experienced great service and very flavorful food. Also, kid-friendly environment for families looking for places to try. This was my first foray into ramen in years. I went shortly after it opened. The atmosphere is perfect. It feels like a little slice of Japan. It is calm, and subdued. Everything is clean. The noodles are just a little chewy, and all of the flavors are mild. I had a thin broth, and it was fresh. When I was done, I drank the broth. I still need to go back and see how things are now that it's been open a while. My memory of it was good, but I've had another ramen experience that was an epiphany. I need to compare Hanabi's tonkatsu to make sure where that stacks up. read more

This place is pretty mediocre. The other people that reviewed this place haven't really had authentic ramen. If you want authentic ramen I suggest going to Austin or possibly Dallas. The Tonkotsu was what I ordered, and the broth was very lack luster. The broth is supposed to be very rich and filling, but that wasn't the case. The ajitama was basically a hard boiled egg in the bowl. It should be marinated, and I don't think they really did that. They also had barely any vegetable options to put in their ramen. I would have liked some woodear mushrooms, corn, etc. The noodles were basically store bought ramen put on the bowl. I ordered a side of veggies for $1.50 which was basically just a crap ton of bean sprouts on a side plate, not added to my bowl.. Overall the place was pretty disappointing. read more

Im actually giving it a 0 but I can't put less. It says on the door and online that the restaurant closes at 10; we got there at 9:20pm and the kid in the counter just nonchalantly said we're closed. We said it closes at 10 and he just put his hands up and said we're closed while the manager was looking at us and did NOTHING. The restaurant had AT LEAST 3 parties of 4 ppl, the kitchen was running and another couple after us was coming in who obviously got told the same. Actually very disappointed in this location- pricing quality and product availability. Our first visit to the location ok give it a try. Just an OK Ramen place. The staff and ambience of the restaurant are pretty cool. However as far as Ramen goes it was not anything exciting. In fact, the broth tasted strange to us but that's just our opinion. The rest of it was great, so I don't want to put the place down. I ordered the Tokyo Tonkotsu (ramen) and the Gyu Don and Chashu Don (rice) entrees through DoorDash. All three entrees were highly satisfying, indeed, heavenly: full of flavors and sufficiently filling, yet not heavy on my stomach. Great place and I love the Tokyo black bowl. I have eaten here probably a dozen times and it's pretty consistent. My dad likes this place so we go here often and we usually share one of the side dishes, they are all pretty good but over priced compared to the ramen. I have also visited their location in Ft. Worth by the Kimbell. My negatives are with Denton's rushed service. They make myself and everyone I take here, including my dad, feel rushed to eat and get out. The Miso ramen tastes plain comparing to the Tonkotsu ramen; feel like the bean sprout doesn't pair well with it. Maybe I should have gotten the spicy version. Fantastic ramen in Denton? This is where it's at!!! Plenty of options for everyone, even vegans. You can do tonkatsu or miso broth, spicy or regular. My husband and I both got the spicy tonkatsu with pork belly. Portion size was perfect. I felt satisfied. I can see why this place gets busy. Go during lunch and beat the dinner rush. I'm not a ramen eater but come here with my husband and friends all the time. This place is our "go-to" for a lunch date. A multitude of options on their menu including some dishes for the not-so-adventurous. Service is always friendly and they might always be busy but they're always quick. It's honestly nothing compared to Raman tat in ATX but it's good enough when you are feeling fiendish for noodles and pork belly. The drink selection is weak and over priced.
