We tried Ramen Mura for the first time with our family. It wasn't too crowded when we got there around 5:45 but there was a line out the door by the time we left. It is a smaller place and a little loud with all the hustle and bustle but that's expected anywhere with good food on a Friday night. We had the gyoza, seaweed salad, smoked salmon sashimi, and tonkatsu ramen. Don't forget to add crispy garlic to the top. Everything was really good. SUMMARY: I've put off reviewing Ramen Mura for way too long. We come here at least twice a month and the big thing most of the diners around us are missing is that their tonkatsu is really the star of the show here! FOOD: While we've tried some of their ramen and don't get me wrong, they are good at what they do ramen-wise, there's no doubt in my mind that their tonkatsu is top notch. Wife and I have a soft spot in our bellies for a good tonkatsu and here's what we love about theirs: 1) they get the panko crust just about perfect every time. 2) they have never overcooked it, always juicy, and 3) it's a good sized portion! The only knock about it is that it's not the type of sauce that I prefer (the brown Bulldog brand is my favorite), but it's good enough. Maybe I'll bring my own bottle haha. The other thing we like is their takoyaki. I'm a big takoyaki fiend, and I always leave satisfied with how they make it. Never overdone, always hot and gooey on the inside, and just the right amount of Kewpie mayo and takoyaki sauce. They never skimp on the bonito flake either. SERVICE: Always spot on and very polite and professional. RETURN VISIT? Yup! This is one of the better if not the best Japanese restaurants in the area! read more

I ordered Ramen to go from this location. I didn't realize it was packaged with the broth separate and when I poured it into my bowl, it went everywhere! This isn't really the restaurants fault, though as I've never ordered Ramen to go. From the bit that I did have left, I found it very tasty! My mom ordered Ramen with octopus ink in it. Great find in Flowermound. The atmosphere was inviting was exciting upbeat Japanese music playing in the background. The food was good. We order the N1 and the N4. One was the normal pork ramen and the other was a spicy miso ramen. Both were good. One complaint is that I paid extra to get spicy and all was a side chili oil, no spice. No bueno,if I'm gonna be charged I want the spice level to go up. As for sushi we ordered a Golden California roll. It was more of an appetizer but basic. Nothing to write home about. Service was very quick! I haven't been in and out of a place in like 30 minutes. I got the spicy tonkotsu and my partner got the regular tonkotsu. They charge you about a couple bucks more essentially for the same thing with the addition of some "spicy" sauce in a little disposable plastic container stacked by the dozens on a shelf. It was basically very mild chili oil that barely had any kick to it. The noodles were fine, the chashu was a bit chewy. The broth was nothing really to rave about. If you're in a pinch and craving some ramen in the Flower Mound area, then this is just fine, nothing to write home about. read more

First let me say Ramen Mura was my first experience with Ramen, and I have to say I'm hooked! I have been there every week since I discovered them in January 2025. I have brought friends and family here. I loved this place. This review is not about the food but the way in which they do business and how they made me feel. April 1st was my birthday, and I decided I wanted Ramen as my birthday dinner. I planned this dinner for weeks. As scheduled, we arrived at the restaurant at approximately 8:40 pm. (We were getting it to go) and we were advised the kitchen closed at 8:30 pm. The sign on the door clearly states they close at 9pm. We were turned away after being told they would not serve us. They also turned another family away. It is completely unacceptable to say you close at 9pm but you shut your kitchen down at 8:30 pm. Had you advertised this we would have adjusted our plans. I believe this business practice is dishonest and misleading. It makes me wonder what other things they are being honest about. Now I have no trust in them. My suggestion is that Ramen Mura take a look at this business practice and make the necessary changes. I know it may seem that I'm making a big deal out of this, but it is what it is. read more

We've eaten here twice and gotten take out once. This past weekend, they launched a spicy seafood ramen so we came in just to try this dish. We were pleasantly surprised that they offer more than just ramen too! Got to order a spicy chicken karaage (think spicy chicken nuggets) AND some really good sushi as an appetizer. Service was fast and efficient! We got Kirin on draft and that tasted as it should. The sushi (salmon, tuna and super white) were all fresh and clean. Loved the fresh ginger slices and wasabi to really heat that up. The chicken nuggies were the table's favorite - and I think I really could make a meal out of that by adding some sides. 3 of us got the spicy seafood ramen and it was really good! Baby shrimp, little tender squid-y bits and tiny mussels. The broth is spicier than most ramen I've had but my hubby still ordered a side of Sriracha to deepen the flavor. Normally, I target the broth and take the noodles home for leftovers but I'd recommend you eat it all at once. Don't be discouraged by the tiny location, it's not good for big groups but for your small group of friends who are a little more adventurous than others. We have 2 ramen places in Denton and they're okay but this place is worth the drive. The broth is better than I've experienced elsewhere and you've got more options than usual. Now that it's colder, that hot bowl of ramen was just what we all wanted! Go there, get some. Life is too short for boring food! read more

Ramen Mura is a very good ramen shop. My first visit was on a damp, cold day and the soup was a perfect lunch to warm me up. I'm not a regular ramen eater so this visit was out of my usual but I really enjoyed it and I expect most people will find something great. I walked in right at lunch time on a BUSY shopping day but I was greeted immediately and there was a good selection of seating options from small tables to booths. The decor was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff was great and service was quick and friendly. The menu consists of a variety of appetizers from dumplings to edamame, all types of ramen soups, sushi, and rice dishes. They even have a few dessert options such as Japanese matcha cheesecake. We ordered two ramen bowls: Tonkotsu Ramen. 5 stars. This seems to be the popular standard choice. It comes with piece of pork belly but it can be substituted for chicken if you prefer. The broth is a creamy pork-based liquid with an incredible flavor that is mild but very deep. It was VERY good. I highly recommend this choice for someone who is unsure of what to try. Kimchi Ramen. 4 stars. This is a mildly spicy ramen with kimchi (fermented spicy cabbage). The flavor was good but not as interesting as the Tonkotsu. The noodles and egg were cooked perfectly. I never thought I'd see a ramen place in good ol' Flomo! I was excited to try this place ever since I heard of it's opening and thought what better time to try than on a rainy dreary day? My boyfriend and I stopped by here during the week to satisfy our soupy cravings and we waited for about 15-20 minutes. Good to see it keeping busy, even on a weekday! The restaurant itself is not very big but gives a cozy, bustling japanese ramen shop vibe. We were sat at the bar right by the open kitchen. Despite being packed on a Wednesday night, we had decent service. We ordered: Tori Karaage ($6.50) - Deep fried chicken with mura mayo This karaage was nicely fried and was juicy on the inside. The mura mayo added a nice touch. I liked the shichimi that was provided at the table which I sprinkled on top if you want a bit of a spice kick to it. Kimchi Ramen ($12) - chicken and & kimchi broth. Kimchi, boiled egg, nori, bean sprouts, fish cake, bamboo shoot, green onion, garlic oil, black garlic oil, spicy sauce. My boyfriend tried the kimchi ramen and really liked the tangier broth with the kick of kimchi. I thought this dish was well rounded but it could've been elevated with some chashu or something. Tonkotsu Ramen ($11) - chashu, boiled egg, green onion, nori, bean sprouts, fish cake, bamboo shoot, garlic oil, black garlic oil. I love my tonkotsu ramen and this one was an adequate contender in a pinch. I think the broth could've been creamier and saltier since there was so much noodle submerged in there. Overall, the food has good flavor and will fill you up. I'm glad this place opened up so I don't have to drive all the way to Carrollton for a nice bowl of ramen. Yummy casual place in a popular shopping area in Flowermound, TX. It's a very popular restaurant, most of the tables were full when we went in! Food was delicious, and they did not go light on the spice level. 4 stars because we didn't get the appetizer we ordered, we never got refill on water and ran out of napkins very early on thanks to the spicy sauces. Came for a date night. Ramen and sushi were both great but my husband is more of a simple meat and rice kind of guy and he ordered a yummy bowl. It was not yummy at all. They separate your food perfectly so nothing is soggy or over saturated. The containers they use are top notch as well. I even reuse them for my lunch!
