    Ramen

This restaurant is a true hidden gem. From the outside it is unassuming but as soon as you open the door it is an absolute delight. The customer service is top notch! And the food is so very good! We had the gyoza, pork ramen, avocado roll, and golden California roll. All tasted very fresh and delicious All was reasonably priced as well. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Amazing spot! The food is super fresh and flavorful especially the Yummy Bowl with its tender chicken and perfect rice. The yuzu cheesecake is a must try! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has such a great vibe. Highly recommend!

This place is a bustling lunch spot that never disappoints! The service is impressively quick, making it perfect for a midday meal when you're short on time but still want something satisfying. The menu is expansive, offering a little bit of everything, but I always find myself gravitating towards their flavorful, comforting ramen. On occasion, I'll switch it up with a bento box, which is always a solid choice. I usually skip the sushi--not because it's bad, but because the other options are just that good. The vibe here is one of my favorite things about it. There are plenty of cozy booths for a more relaxed sit-down, but if you're dining solo or just prefer a quick bite, there's also a counter in the back. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between lively and laid-back, making it a great spot to enjoy a casual lunch.

I remember when this place first opened there used to be so much chicken in their bowls. Now two dismal deli sliced pieces of chicken. Seriously? I've seen thicker card stock than the chicken in my bowl. Didn't even weigh an ounce. Prices have gone up and portions have gone down. Will definitely not be back.

Service was good. The karage and tonkotsu ramen was good, other then the chashu pork being under seasoned.

SUMMARY: I've put off reviewing Ramen Mura for way too long. We come here at least twice a month and the big thing most of the diners around us are missing is that their tonkatsu is really the star of the show here! FOOD: While we've tried some of their ramen and don't get me wrong, they are good at what they do ramen-wise, there's no doubt in my mind that their tonkatsu is top notch. Wife and I have a soft spot in our bellies for a good tonkatsu and here's what we love about theirs: 1) they get the panko crust just about perfect every time. 2) they have never overcooked it, always juicy, and 3) it's a good sized portion! The only knock about it is that it's not the type of sauce that I prefer (the brown Bulldog brand is my favorite), but it's good enough. Maybe I'll bring my own bottle haha. The other thing we like is their takoyaki. I'm a big takoyaki fiend, and I always leave satisfied with how they make it. Never overdone, always hot and gooey on the inside, and just the right amount of Kewpie mayo and takoyaki sauce. They never skimp on the bonito flake either. SERVICE: Always spot on and very polite and professional. RETURN VISIT? Yup! This is one of the better if not the best Japanese restaurants in the area!

    N4. Spicy Miso Ramen

Great find in Flowermound. The atmosphere was inviting was exciting upbeat Japanese music playing in the background. The food was good. We order the N1 and the N4. One was the normal pork ramen and the other was a spicy miso ramen. Both were good. One complaint is that I paid extra to get spicy and all was a side chili oil, no spice. No bueno,if I'm gonna be charged I want the spice level to go up. As for sushi we ordered a Golden California roll. It was more of an appetizer but basic. Nothing to write home about. Overall not a bad experience.

    N2. Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen

Service was very quick! I haven't been in and out of a place in like 30 minutes. I got the spicy tonkotsu and my partner got the regular tonkotsu. They charge you about a couple bucks more essentially for the same thing with the addition of some "spicy" sauce in a little disposable plastic container stacked by the dozens on a shelf. It was basically very mild chili oil that barely had any kick to it. The noodles were fine, the chashu was a bit chewy. The broth was nothing really to rave about. If you're in a pinch and craving some ramen in the Flower Mound area, then this is just fine, nothing to write home about.

    Tuna Poke Bowl! Yum

Fresh and delicious, great service, cozy ambiance. The miso soup was very good too. Good pricing

    Spicy seafood ramen!!! Yum!
    Molly T.

We've eaten here twice and gotten take out once. This past weekend, they launched a spicy seafood ramen so we came in just to try this dish. We were pleasantly surprised that they offer more than just ramen too! Got to order a spicy chicken karaage (think spicy chicken nuggets) AND some really good sushi as an appetizer. Service was fast and efficient! We got Kirin on draft and that tasted as it should. The sushi (salmon, tuna and super white) were all fresh and clean. Loved the fresh ginger slices and wasabi to really heat that up. The chicken nuggies were the table's favorite - and I think I really could make a meal out of that by adding some sides. 3 of us got the spicy seafood ramen and it was really good! Baby shrimp, little tender squid-y bits and tiny mussels. The broth is spicier than most ramen I've had but my hubby still ordered a side of Sriracha to deepen the flavor. Normally, I target the broth and take the noodles home for leftovers but I'd recommend you eat it all at once. Don't be discouraged by the tiny location, it's not good for big groups but for your small group of friends who are a little more adventurous than others. We have 2 ramen places in Denton and they're okay but this place is worth the drive. The broth is better than I've experienced elsewhere and you've got more options than usual. Now that it's colder, that hot bowl of ramen was just what we all wanted! Go there, get some. Life is too short for boring food!

I ordered it with the chicken and just requested that they didn't do the teriyaki (since it was not gluten free) and just had them cook it normally and it was delicious. I will say that the soup and salad that you get at the beginning of the meal required some modifications. No dressing on the salad (it contained gluten) along with the soup being changed to just broth because the miso came with noodles in it. Overall the staff was so kind and patient with my questions and needs.

I was sat quickly at the bar, and then seemed to be forgotten about. I did wait a while before a man came to me to take my drink order, and then things progressed quickly. Though everyone who ended up being sat after me were immediately taken care of. I ordered the sushi and sashimi bento box. I sat at the sushi bar so I was able to watch how things were prepared. Everything comes out quickly, as all of the proteins are pre sliced and ready to go. They were busy and the turn around is quick. They also do a lot of to go orders, and those were stacked up by the front door. I thought the quality of the fish was good for the price. I really liked the ginger dressing that comes on the salad, though it is a wild color. The gyoza just tasted like frozen dumplings you can buy at the store, and then deep fried. But they were good. The rice was cooked properly, and not mushy at all. The only thing I didn't care for was the California roll. It was super goopy and just tasted like mayo. I had to leave that alone. The atmosphere is very noisy and if you are sitting at the sushi bar, you hear the constant beeping of their order machine. I may try them again for dinner if it is a bit quieter, or takout seems like a good option, though there is no online ordering on their website.

Refreshing Surprise - Passion & Care…read more I was down the street getting a haircut and had a craving for sushi, so I opened Yelp, spotted Kanzi, and decided to swing by. I'm so glad I did. Kanzi is one of those refreshing surprises: an approachable neighborhood sushi spot that clearly cares about the details. They may not be trying to be an ultra high-end omakase destination with otoro and uni, but what they do offer, they execute with care, precision, and pride. The fish was clearly well stored and well cared for, and the cuts were clean and thoughtful. I tried the red snapper, eel, mackerel, yellowtail, masago, super white tuna with fresh wasabi, and one roll: the no-rice Cool Hawaiian. I'll post a few pictures as well because the presentation really deserves it. I sat at the bar and had the chance to talk with Hong, the chef preparing my food. I learned that he took over the restaurant from his brother and still visits sushi restaurants around DFW at least twice a week to keep learning, tasting, and improving his own craft. That told me everything I needed to know. There is real passion here. Hong believes the details matter, from a clean bathroom to the right Japanese knife, specially purchased for left-handed use. That kind of care shows up in the food and in the overall experience. Go visit Kanzi, sit at the bar if you can, and tell Hong that Tait says hello -- and thank you. Pro Tip: Kanzi is currently BYOB. There is a liquor store right across the parking lot, literally within about 50 feet. Walk in, head to the cooler on the far right, grab a cold bottle of sake, and bring it back with you. Kanzi has sake cups ready to go, which makes the whole experience even better.
