Actually, we have the Ford Mach e charger (220v ) charger supplied by Ford. Can you change the 220v dryer socket in garage to fit that plug?. Socket is Nema 10-50. 20 yrs old, never used. Do we need still need new wiring?

The short answer is no. Your dryer outlet is 220volt, however, it is supplying the dryer at 30 amps. Your car charger needs 220volts, at 50 amps. You cannot just change the circuit breaker to a 50 Amp,because the wire is not rated at 50 amps, and…

Had Ace Electrical Service out for two lighting issues…read more Garage fluorescent lights stopped working. Turned out to be a tripped breaker that wasn't obvious because of the safety bracket on the breaker. Wanted to convert an outdoor CFL fixture to LED. Instead of selling me a much bigger job, they explained I could simply use LED bulbs that plug into the existing CFL sockets. What could've easily turned into a several hundred dollar bill ended up being around $100. Really appreciate companies that still do right by their customers instead of looking for every opportunity to upsell. Great communication, honest advice, and quality work. Highly recommend.

Very few of the companies I reached out to on Yelp would give me a price asking me to call them for a free consult. I already did my homework and explained everything in my communication in the project details, so what do they want to consult with me on the phone for? Of the few that replied with transparent pricing, Ace Electrical was the most reasonable and professional in their replies. While I had to wait a few days to fit on their schedule, which I didn't mind, Kevin came and fixed the issue literally in 15 minutes. He explained everything he was doing and I was only charged for the minimum service fee as no parts were needed. If you are looking for a professional and reasonable electrician when you are in time of need, I highly recommend you reach out to Ace Electrical Service.

Trash Dumping: After they replaced my electrical panel they filled all my trash cans with the trash, including my recycling bin - with construction trash that would get rejected. I had to pull all of it out when I found it several days later and make them come back and get it 2. Communication / Coordination: After the panel replacement there was coordination required to get inspections and stucco done. I had to hound them, they were not responsive, dragged their feet. Every time you call you get a different person and they put a buffer between you and the project manager so you cant ever reach your project manager directly. 3. Work Quality: We had to run a new ground wire and install new ground rods. They did the bare minimum to make them code compliant, leaving me with sketchy metal spears sticking 5 inches out of the ground. I told them this did not work for us because we have young kids running around. I needed the GEC run below grade and the ground rods inside valve boxes. All of this was approved by the inspector. The way they moaned and groaned... They stopped returning my calls and sent me a $2000 f-off quote to change the ground wire. I have sketchy rods sticking out of my yard, open stucco around the panel, they dont take my calls and I have to hire someone else to come finish the job. Honestly up there with one of my worst experiences with a contractor.

It was frustrating as several people came out from other companies and gave me absolutely crazy quotes trying to take advantage of me. Then I was referred to Eric and I'm thankful I did. He was responsive, did a great job installing the 220 line and gave me a fair and honest price. And on top of that is a very nice guy. I recommend him very highly.

When I…read morecalled mid day he informed me that he only did the automobile plugin stuff but asked where I lived and if the light switch was the only thing I needed fixed. When I said Lake Forest and yes to the only thing needing a fix, he said he would come by in about an hour. When he came he immediately went to work on the switch and in less than a minute the lights were back on, but the lights were flashing on and off. This was a problem before the lights stopped coming on altogether. He switched some of the light bulbs with other working lights in the hallway and they worked in the kitchen and began flashing in the hallway. To that, Eric determined that the flashing lightbulbs were "crap", recommended getting some new light bulbs to replace those that flashed. It wasn't the switch that was faulty but the lights themselves. Eric said that he would not charge me anything for his work that day which was so generous and appreciated by me. You don't find people like that anymore. As it turns out he has family living in my neighborhood. He also gave me some advice on another outdoor light that we are repairing. Can't say enough good things about Eric.
