I have been wanting to try this place for a while and just expected good bar food but the food was actually better than anticipated! We got there around 6 and were seated in the bar area immediately. There weren't many people in the dining room but the bar area eventually filled up. The bartender got us waters and took our order: Seared Scallops w asparagus, sliders, plus Nachos as an appetizer and a Coming in Hot cocktail. The cocktail was strong and effective. The Nachos were nicely presented, tasted fine, but were a teeny portion for the price! (I always think of nachos as being plentiful!) The entrees came out soon after and my kid proclaimed the scallops as perfectly seared. They were, indeed, delicious, but the menu said that "unagi" was one of the ingredients and we couldn't find any on the plate! (Maybe it was in the sauce?) My sliders were juicy and very flavorful, plus a decent size for sliders. My kid was still hungry, though, so they ordered the Flaming Salmon Rolls. I've had much better sushi and these were a little soggy but ok tasting. It was a big portion, too. Our bartender was attentive and other workers kept the table clear of empty plates. First off, the place is stunning inside and out. We had a patio reservation and worried as it was cold outside but the fire pits and heaters were strategically placed so it was not an issue at all. ($13 for an 8" side plate of lettuce and $6 for a chicken breast) If you have ever tasted the frozen precooked chicken strips out of a bag, you know how this chicken tasted. It was ice cold and most likely precooked. *** $27 steak frites. Served on same undersized plates. Approximately 5oz of subprime cut (smaller than old Nokia candy bar phone) with approximately 20 fries (yes she generously counted). My fiancé and I both stopped for food on the way home. *** $16 Da Goat. While I did not try this myself (not a fan of goat cheese) I hear this was good. It comes in a small 4"-5" diameter shallow bowl. Red sauce with goat cheese with crostini (approximately 6 small pieces). My group quickly ran out of the bread (to their credit was good) and the waiter offered to bring us more. It was later when I picked up the bill, he charged us! 6 pieces of bread was not going to be enough for 5 people. I would have rather them charged a few dollars more for the already overpriced item and then provided the bread needed to consume it! My apologies for not uploading pictures but celebrating with family I didn't want to be "that guy". I can't say how well this dinner went. We had a reservation for a party of 6 that I booked. My friends arrived early and the restaurant was nice to seat them when they arrived. The service was absolutely incredible. In the 3 hrs we were there, I dont recall anyone complaining about a single delay. The outdoor patio is beautiful. We decided to try this place last night and I'm sooo glad we did. The food was great and the service was amazing! We shared the short rib tacos, salmon sushi roll (yum!), and sliders. We topped it off with the skillet cookie with ice cream, all fantastic! The vibe inside is very cool with a large patio for our door dining. We said no way ordered that because I can't eat goat cheese.--it is BAKED goat cheese! She looked confused and took it away. After a few dishes(with no clean plates in between), server said anything else? Yes, the shrimp dish we ordered-he didn't get that one, so waited for that. When the bill came, noticed a comp for Da Goat, so obviously that was entered instead of the shrimp dish. I guess he totally missed the part that I could not eat goat cheese. Famous as Barr French Onion Soup reminded me of its namesake recipe and was decadent. Braised Short Rib and Lobster Mac & Cheese could not have tasted better if Gordon Ramsey himself made it. Flavors and textures throughout the meal were a symphony of perfection. Wait staff and bussers were happy, energetic and polite. Food was served quickly and timely. Very excited about this new spot. Five stars on everything: the service was spectacular, from a warm greeting when we walked in, quickly seated and met with our waitress. AMAZING cocktails that rival Katie's Pizza, down the street. The food was TOP notch. I took 4 kids in thinking there was a kids menu based on what I saw online. when I got there and was told there was not (after we were settled) they explained they make a kids portion size. I ordered 3 sliders and a mac and cheese. I was told they came with fries (apparently not). I ordered a ceasor salad that was a mix of brussel sprout. no brussels and it was a small side portion for $15. Very underwhelming. our bill came and I was shocked I was paying $18 per child plus $6 fries and the $4 drink. That is crazy for a very basic slider with no side. when I chatted with a manager he simply said it was due to inflation . He said if I could come back in he could sit down and explain it??? Sorry NO. please put your pricing on the menu or have your wait staff explain prior to ordering. we experienced horrible service, subpar food and felt taken advantage of. Will not return. read more
