Stopped in after dropping my dog off for the "big chop". They have a pay-to-park parking lot across the street so there is parking in addition to street parking. We were seated immediately and the service was fantastic. Our server was very attentive and fast which was much appreciated. I ordered the hoe benny and my partner got hoe fries with chorizo and cheese on top. I appreciated that all the fruit was fresh and not icky since sometimes that is not the case with fruit bowls. The hoe benny itself was okay, I would probably try their donut breakfast sandwich if I were to come here again, but I did eat it all. They also had a lot of interesting coffee and alcoholic brunch drinks that looked tasty, but we did not try any during this visit. This place is a vibe!! The music was on point, they were playing all of the soul jams. The host immediately greeted us and we were seated in no time. I do want to add, you do have to pay for parking so if they are busy... be aware of that in the future or be like us and go on a week day! lol The food here was REALLY good! This is quite possibly my favorite brunch spot in the city. Casual atmosphere, you can always grab an amazing and unique cocktail, and the food is simply outstanding. For starters, they serve coffee in a random mug - they have the most fabulous coffee mugs - some are home made, others are just random and cute. The food is prepared fresh and I like how spaced out the tables are. You can have a quiet conversation without worrying about people overhearing you. Parking is on the street (meter) or in a pay lot across the street. I've never had a problem finding a parking spot. A couple of my favorite dishes: sloppy seconds with goetta (a Cincinnati classic) and breakfast tacos. Both are fantastic. Be sure to try the "hoe fries." Their own twist on hash browns and they are out of this world. A bit crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. I love them with cholula sauce. Friendly service. Great prices. Been here a handful of timed, ordered food for delivery through GrubHub. I have NEVER been disappointed. This time I got their Buffalo chicken mac and cheese. It's DA BOMB tasty. The chicken is a touch dry, but the breading and seasoning MORE than make up for that. The cheese sauce is lightly flavored, which I appreciate, and is NOT overbearing on the "corkscrew" pasta. I highly recommend this dish. I also got their Cobb salad with chicken. I ended up eating that for lunch the next day, so some of the freshness wasn't there. But that was MY fault, not the fault of HOE. I did think the bacon could have been a bit crispier, for my liking. I also thought the chicken wasn't quite as flavorful as it could have been. Hang Over Easy (HOE) loves their acronyms. The corned beef hash (CBH) can be made skillet style to sidestep gluten. It needed some serious S&C (Sriracha & Cholula) to add any flavor whatsoever. Dare to eat it plain? It could possibly be the most tasteless of the sad midwestern breakfasts. Love the large bar to sit and eat solo breakfast. Love that the space can also accommodate big groups. If the menu were a bit more wild/hipster I think it would serve them well. The Short Vine area itself is, "up and coming" - so why not push the envelope on the menu too? P.S.: I get that the restaurant is "playfully hangover" themed (and incidentally abbreviates to "HOE") -- but the menu does inevitably lose any semblance of class with items such as, "hoe fries", "Cleveland Steamer" (don't Google it), Dirty Sanchez (again, don't Google it). This was a nice place. I found it on a humble because I just put in restaurants near me in my Google map. It sounded fun and the menu looked diner style plus they sold alcohol at a breakfast-type joint...felt like it was super interesting. It was mid-afternoon so I opted for the lunch menu and got the Phatty Patty with sweet potato tots. I love a restaurant that sells sweet potato tots. The waiter was really nice and sociable. Normally that wouldn't be a bad thing but he was super social and it made it a bit hard to get stuff like the check. But I don't want you to think he was a bad waiter...far from it but I think he spent too much time chit-chatting at the most inopportune time. Now to the food. The waiter said it was a fan favorite and I see why...it comes with this mushroom gravy, I got mine on the side but it made that sandwich POP. It comes on Texas toast, which I love and it is the most perfectly toasted sandwich ever. I was full but kept eating...it was that good. The tots were cooked perfectly, not too crunchy...just done right. Now even though it was afternoon I got a cup of coffee. The waiters said it was good coffee and it was. All in all,I was perfectly happy with my meal as well as the atmosphere. It's a funky little spot that serves an eclectic menu of favorites done their way. DO NOT go for brunch on the weekend. We were told a 50 min wait and they grossly underestimated as we (like idiots) waited 150 mins. The food is fine but it is not worth that kind of wait under any circumstance. They have a Waitlist app but I don't think that would help. After work one morning my wife and I met in Clifton at hang over easy. Service was great and a nice and clean environment. The food was ok, portion sizes were appropriate. I would say it was good but we wouldn't go out of our way to meet here again. My toast was kind of burnt on my sandwich and her over easy eggs were over cooked. We visited HangOverEasy on a Sunday morning around 8:30 for breakfast. We paid to park in the parking lot across the street for $2, which we thought was reasonable. At this time of the morning, we did not have a wait for a table. The waitress was pleasant, and our wait time for drinks and food was reasonable. We loved the unique and "retro" decor throughout the restaurant and also enjoyed the music that they had playing. The menu has a lot to choose from, and we felt that we got good value for the amount of money. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles, "CBH" (meal with corned beef, home fries, queso, eggs, and toast), and cups of coffee. Our food was great! Waffles were cooked perfectly and the glaze on the chicken was very tasty. The CBH was a unique platter, but tasted great together and offered options to customize the eggs and toast/biscuit. Unfortunately, the particular cups of coffee we received were pretty poorly made - very strong and burnt tasting. We placed them to the side because it seemed like an "off" batch. Overall, we really enjoyed the restaurant and would go back if we were visiting Cincinnati again. Unfortunately, both of us had to rush to the bathroom after returning to our hotel after eating! Either breakfast or the coffee went "right through" us, if you know what I mean. So, if you have a sensitive tummy, be aware that the food may bother you a bit. read more
