2 Fish and 6 Shrimp Platter with Shrimp Fried Rice
    Travis J.

Did a call in order for the 2 fish and 6 shrimp platter with shrimp fried rice! Calling in was simple and easy and the guy taking my ordered suggested the cheesy boudin balls as an appetizer. Upon arrival, walked in to a nice aesthetic and there were maybe only 3/4 customers present due to it being 4pm on a work day. The food was tasty and they fried the fish to perfection. Bonus: there is a cupcake spot next door.

We were next door getting car worked on. Both haven't eaten yet n it's a very cold wet day. Walked over to see what they had to offer. They have daily lunch specials such as a bowl of hot n fresh gumbo!! Ordered a bowl for each of us n some wings. This truly hit the spot for this type of day. Gumbo was full of flavor as well as shrimp n crab meat. Wings were great tho small (like Cornish hen size). But still flavorful as well. This was the only reason for the 4 stars. Reasonably priced too! Servers were polite n friendly. Nice seating with tvs in view. When wanting gumbo (besides cooking it ourselves) we will definitely come back again!

First timers. My family loved this lil spot! All the food was so delicious! My picky son said 10/10 wings & fries. Crawfish had great flavor. We got spicy. Definitely goin back to explore more of the menu! For sure a ton on our next visit list!!

All the juice included in the weight of my 4 pound order.

Pay attention to what you're paying for. I went here today and purchased 4 pounds of boiled crawfish. I ordered it to dine in. When I got my order I noticed the bag was half filled with boil juice. When I poured the juice out it seemed like I had waaaay less than 3 pounds. I went to the counter and asked the young later if the juice was weighed with the crawfish to equal 4 pounds. She said they add the juice in after the crawfish is wet. I spend a lot of money on crawfish each year. I know what 4 pounds look and feel like. You be the judge.

Best Fried Rice my Wife and I have ever had. When we travel to Houston going to Hanks is a must. Everything from the wait staff to the food is superb. The Eggrolls as an appetizer is also a good choice as they are more like mini eggrolls but great as an appetizer. Definitely has a hole in the wall feel, but everything is top notch so give Hanks a try and I promise you will not be disappointed.

Really good food!! We got 5 lbs of crawfish and the combo number 5 that came with shrimp and snow crab. The prices are a little high but with the start of crawfish season it is expected. Amazing customer service from all of the employees. Several people were coming by and asking if we needed anything else and refilling our drinks. Great establishment and very clean environment. We got extra spicy and it definitely lived up to its name (nose running still). I definitely recommend trying this place if you want some good seafood! We will be back soon.

Normal sized crab legs at Katy location on the same day.

Ok......sooooo, I can't remember a time where I've been so upset about a meal experience, that I relished and replayed the nightmare over in my head, over, and over again. So yesterday, on 11/12/20 I was up north for a photo shoot. I wanted to take my employee to a congratulatory meal for a successful shoot, and I asked her what she wanted. She said crab legs, and immediately we searched Yelp. Hank's in Katy is one of my favorite for delicious crawfish and crab legs, so I assumed Hank's up north would be the same. Uummmm, yeah...that wasn't the case. So when we come in, it seriously looks like a hole in the wall. They have limited drink offerings and the frozen drinks weren't ready except for one. I can't remember what it was called, but I ordered it, and it tasted like a virgin slushy. 1st strike. My guest specifically asked about the size of their crab legs, and said if they were small she would send them back. The server ensured us that they had crab legs with a lot of meat in them. They were running a special, I believe it was three clusters for like $22.99. We both ordered the special. We also orders a half dozen oysters, and gator bites. Oysters and gator bites took a while to arrive but they were delicious. The crab legs, which normally take minutes to prepare took a pretty long time. I had to get my employee to the airport, so we were a little pressed for time. When we received the crab, we were disgusted. I have never felt so disrespected before in my life. These crab legs were so tiny, they should have been thrown back in the ocean, those poor babies. The couldn't have been a pound. To boot, they were overcooked, so what little meat they did yield, was stuck to the shell, making it a battle to extract. They came with no corn or potatoes as they do in Katy, just the baby legs. We honestly didn't have time to send them back and order something else given our time restraints, but I did mention to the server that she lied to us, lol, and these were the tiniest, overcooked crab legs that I've ever eaten. She said she was sorry, most people love their crab legs. No manager was called, nothing was done to make us whole. So while I don't like leaving bad reviews, this one deserved it. We were so upset, we couldn't stop talking about it, and left Hank's hungry. On my drive back home to Katy, I was telling my husband about my experience and it made him crave Hank's in Katy. We went there and received drinks with alcohol in them, full sized crab legs with corn and potatoes, and left with smiles and full bellies. I'll leave a picture with a comparison of both Hank's, so that you can see I'm not overreacting, and so you can see all Hank's aren't created equally.

Ok, I'm from New Orleans: one of the food capitals of the world. I don't know why Houston likes to add all these odd seasonings to their food--minced garlic and a sauce in boiled seafood, spices in Shrimp Fried Rice...I don't get it. But that's the style out here, and I've learned to embrace. With that said, my Shrimp Fried Rice was really good, and I'd definitely return if I have a taste for it.

We came here pretty late on a Tuesday evening and the place was almost at its closure time. Nevertheless we received a very good service as the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. The crawfish was served in a wooden bowl rather than the usual plastic buckets. It was very spicy so I struggled especially with the potatoes and the corn. Very reasonable priced and a clean environment.

The taste was nasty it tasted like, I can't use profanity but it was horrible. Seem like they boiled them in Galveston beach water i tried to eat it but the taste kept getting worse. If I could give them no stars i would. I only wanted one snow crab cluster but they had a deal 3 for 21.99 so I was like why not. What a waste of money. I don't know about their other food but don't get anything boil.

Fried shrimp, trio fried rice includes shrimp, crawfish and chicken, an a order of boudain cheese balls
    Eddie O.

Couldn't make it to mike seafood so stopped at my old stopping grounds and was satisfied as always. Ordered a large trio fried rice, 10 fried shrimp and a order of boudain cheese balls. I'm pleased as always and the staff was on top of everything. Love this place will keep coming anytime I have the chance to. Keep it up

They're so nice! They gave my crying hungry baby a Twinkie while we waited for our food!

We've been passing by this place for awhile and today the wife and I decided to meet up after work…read moreand try them out. Upon entering, the place is nice and more spacious than we expected. Very clean and well put together. We we were greeted promptly and told to choose our seat and that she would be right with us. Well.. that wasn't the case. The lady that greated us was the greeter the bartender the hostess and order taker and one young man as a server was all they had. Fast forward past the wait. Our food comes. Presentation was nice loved the wooden serving trays. Burgers were nice size as seen on social media. I had the Texan burger with chili and cheese and my wife had Kions classic with cheese. Burgers were great. Meat was grilled to perfection with the chard edges i like. But were a little salty as were the onion rings. It taste like the same seasoning is used for the burger fries and onion rings so it became a little overwhelming. Which was part of the reason fir the 3 star. The other reason was the wait (to order and check out) due to the lack of staff and the other is the price. $66 for 2 burgers, fries and onion rings which the portions aren't worth the $10 price. Will we return? Possibly but not any time soon. @Manager. First, condolences to you and your family . But I notice you are very defensive in your few responses to reviews. And im sure you're going to take offense to this comment also but it is not to offend you or your business but more-so to help. I noticed you haven't even taken the time to respond to those that have given you good to great reviews. Those people deserve your attention more. And even in the responses you have given, there are more professional ways of defending your establishment. Like thanking the person for patronizing your business whether they gave you a good or bad review (they spent their hard earned money). Then thanking them for taking the time to leave you a review (good or bad) and read reviews with the intent to understand not to respond. We don't know what's going on in your personal life when we enter your establishment just as you don't know what's going on in ours.. you expect us to repect your business upon entering as we expect a level of service and professionalism that makes us feel good about spending our money. If your loss was going to impact your service maybe inform people when they enter that service is going to be a little slow due to short staff. I see your favorite thing to say is "our prices are listed". Don't you think we know that? Don't you think we seen the price on the menu when we ordered? So obviously we're not complaining about the price but more so what we got for the price. Though we can see how much we're going to spend before ordering, we can not see what we're getting for what we're spending until it comes out. And that is what I was referring to.. price vs portion. And my review said some good things also and said we would possibly return.. but that now will not happen. Please just think before you respond to people and remember they have already given you their hard earned money before making reviews of your business good or bad.. so always lead with a "Thank You..."

Inside right when you enter is the actual bar with about 6 seats which were full with customers during my entire visit. Their happy hour ends at 6pm, but I arrived at 7pm so I ended up missing the discounted drinks. I ordered the cod and shrimp pita which ended up being slightly different than the regular gyro. I had to set it down after a couple of bites since the wheat pita bread is much thinner than regular pita bread and it kept falling apart on me. I also added a mango mojito. With a name like Island Grill, I sort of expected to see more tropical drinks or rum-based cocktails show up on the menu, but this was about the only one. Overall, my experience was okay, but I don't know if it was good enough for me to return.
