You also are asking me to wait until Tuesday for the review when my concerns were brought on Friday. Worst. Haircut. Ever. If you would like to waste 2 hours on a haircut that should have been completed in 45 minutes, all while listening to far too personal baby daddy stories shared by your nice, but unskilled, stylist, then this is the salon for you! What was that? Should I have said something? Well, I did. That's when the less than 100% fabulous customer service kicked in. I sent photos and messages documenting the haircut. I asked for a refund. After all, that was $90 for the haircut that looks like the craft scissor haircut my friend's daughter gave herself when she was 5. They want to "fix" it. There's barely any hair left to "fix" and also, no. You have lost my trust. Just refund the money. Here's my story: I chose one of my reference images (the one with green highlights) directly from their website based on cut and type of color, highlights with a fashion color. What could possibly go wrong? There is a person there who literally can cut the cut I want the picture proved it, right? The scheduler said she knew exactly who to book me with, but let's do a color consultation first for $60. I countered with, let's schedule the cut and the stylist, and I can discuss color then. At my appointment, I showed the stylist a carefully curated set of images, cut images, and the cut I wanted in pics of me when I had that cut. This is important because, I should back up and say I was asking for a pixie cut. I explained that I wanted my already short hair to be styled into a long banged, messy pixie with wispy tendrils by my ears. This would require trimming bangs, texturizing the longer "bob" sides and back. An hour in, I knew far too much about her personal life, and half my hair was clippered and way too short. Then she said, " Hey, maybe we should leave the other side as it is (when I came in)". Um, what? I asked to see the back. It had been clippered and the long hair on top laid on it like a rug. Zero texture. Um... the back of my head looks like a triangle? Can you please fix it? She did, kinda. Now, it's at mile marker two hours, and I am late. She was still not done. I told her I had to go and that I would have to settle for what I have. I left, put my hat on, and cried. But that was after I was also charged a service fee to tip. Next comes the customer service: After work, I took my hat off to discover that you could see my scalp in places. I have virtually no bangs, and it is waaaaay worse than I thought. I immediately emailed with pics. Their response, thanks for the feedback. I called and asked someone from their leadership to call me back. Nope, no call. Fast forward to the next day and several emails later, and the owner said you can either come in (next week) or "this matter is closed". Charming. I've had pixie cuts for 20 years. This was not a texture things or even a miscommunication. It was a failure of the scheduler, the stylist, and ultimately the owner. That stylist needs to be trained better and should have never been given me as a client. And the owner, well, just rude. When did customer service become so rare? Guess they must be doing well if they don't need new customers. There's more, but I am tired of typing. I don't usually leave reviews. Update: to be clear I did not decline the review. I declined a review without the possibility of a refund. You also are asking me to wait until Tuesday for the review when my concerns were brought on Friday.

I had a biopsy and after finding out I have a large cancer on my lower back I cancelled the necessary surgery there to go to Virginia Mason on Monday, knowing time is important, still w no schedule and expecting a delay. That's how much I HATE THIS COMPANY. There's much I won't mention. Too much. If you have a real medical condition go to a REAL Doctor. This ain't the joint.

The Handshake Says It All: Unbiased Review of Racial Microaggressions in Healthcare…read more Let me be crystal clear about my experience with Preston Lehr, PA and this dermatology practice: it was unacceptable. As a Black woman, I was subjected to treatment that exemplifies the medical disparities POC face daily in healthcare settings. On my first visit to discuss the removal of skin tags and to have PA Lehr examine my ruptured cyst, his behavior immediately made me uncomfortable. He greeted me with an exaggerated, stereotypical handshake that felt forced and inappropriate--something I guarantee he doesn't do with his white patients in Edmonds. During this visit, he prescribed a powerful antibiotic for my ruptured cyst without mentioning it needed to be taken with food. This potentially dangerous oversight was only caught by my pharmacist, not the doctor who prescribed it. When I returned for my second visit to have the skin tags removed, PA Lehr greeted me with the same uncomfortable handshake. When I asked if the procedure would hurt, his dismissive response that "it's not going to hurt him" was both condescending and unprofessional. I had to specifically ask about aftercare instructions myself--information that should be provided automatically. For my third visit to address the now-calmed cyst, PA Lehr once again greeted me with the same inappropriate handshake. I couldn't help but think: would a 50-year-old white woman, man or non-binary person be treated this way? Absolutely not. During the procedure, he provided minimal explanation and zero aftercare guidance. Only the support staff stepped in to give me the proper information I needed. The support staff was competent, but they can't compensate for a doctor who treats patients differently based on how they look. This is medical racism, plain and simple--not jokes, not lightheartedness, but the exact kind of differential treatment that research consistently shows undermines care for communities of color. I'm giving two stars solely because: 1) The procedures were technically completed and 2) The support staff provided information the PA should have given. I will never return to this practice and strongly advise against it for anyone--ESPECIALLY people of color who deserve healthcare providers who see and respect them as human beings deserving equal care and dignity.

She listens to what you are looking for (if your shoulders have been stiff, or if you want a relaxing massage that day), she's really strong, and very skilled at making knotty muscles behave! I love that I can ask her for the sciencey-answer to what she's doing or what muscles are locked up; it empowers me to learn more about my body and how to care for it afterwards! The spa itself offers convenient online booking, it's very clean and peaceful (and looks down onto the ocean!), and their customer service is top notch. I use their Wellness Plan option, which offers a year of monthly massage appointments for a slight discount. Love it!! I hope this place stays here forever. And the fact that it's right beside the ocean means that if you want to continue relaxing after your massage, you can just walk downstairs and sit on the beach.

I left pretty disappointed. 5 Stars facial -- The facial was awesome. The esthetician was so sweet and bubbly. She explained what was going to happen and her positive energy alone was 5+++ Stars. I would go back solely for future facials with her :) The massage: it was by a girl named Jennifer. After reading the reviews I'm saddens that I got a newbie vs. Marisa. It was the worst massage I have ever gotten. When the masseuse came in to meet me after I had spoken to the esthetician she was not warm - and bland. I told her I wanted deep tissue & to not be gentle. It started off ok, but as she got further along I thought "did I pay for a massage or merely to be inadequately rubbed with lotion". You know the massage isn't great when you're left laying there wondering when it's going to be over and it feeling like it's taking forever. I have had better relief when getting out of a long shower. Total disappointment ... :(

She's incredibly kind, pays close attention to every detail, and always makes sure my nails look perfect. She also gives an amazing leg massage during the appointment. They use disposable nail files and single-use buffers for every client, and their nail clippers, nippers, and cuticle pushers are sterilized after each use. I was really looking forward to trying this salon and booked the **Healthier Eco-Friendly Gel…read moreManicure**, along with an additional French manicure service. I want to be fair and clarify that I was happy with the nail technician and with the final appearance of my nails. Unfortunately, the overall experience was made very uncomfortable by the attitude and behavior of the salon owner. When I arrived, I was confused about where to park, so I politely asked the owner whether I had parked in the correct place. Instead of asking where I had parked or offering any helpful guidance, she simply said yes. From the beginning, I did not feel welcomed. Her manner was cold and dismissive, and throughout my visit I felt as though she was treating me with irritation. The service description included a **hand and arm massage**. However, the hand massage lasted only approximately 2-3 minutes, and I did not receive an arm massage at all. Although I was happy with the nail technician and the final appearance of my nails, the full service described was not provided. I had also paid extra for a French manicure. While choosing the color, I asked whether I could use a different base color for the French manicure. The owner gave me what felt like a very unpleasant look and responded rudely and sharply, **"THAT IS EXTRA $5."** I had no issue paying an additional $5 if that was the salon's policy. My concern was the disrespectful and condescending way she communicated it. At checkout, I misunderstood the credit card policy. Because I had entered my card information when booking the appointment, I thought my card had already been charged. As I was leaving, the owner called out, **"Ma'am, you have to pay,"** which made me feel embarrassed. Once she explained that the card was only used to hold the appointment, I understood and paid for the service. After I paid, she questioned me about leaving no tip. I found this extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate, especially because I had already felt unwelcome and upset by the way I had been treated during the visit. Tipping should be the customer's choice, and I did not appreciate being confronted about it. I explained that I had paid for my service and that I was unhappy with the way she had spoken to me. She eventually apologized, but by that point I was already very upset and embarrassed. I want to emphasize that my criticism is not directed at the nail technician. Although she did not do a good job with the hand massage and did not provide the arm massage included in the service, her overall manicure work was good, and I was satisfied with my nails. Unfortunately, the owner's attitude and the failure to provide the full service described overshadowed the quality of the actual manicure. I left feeling uncomfortable, humiliated, and unwelcome. A salon visit should be relaxing and pleasant, but this experience was the opposite. Despite being satisfied with the technician's work, I would not return because of the way I was treated by the owner.
