    Mango and sticky rice

Wow I'm so happy Hanuman is now in Orange! They've remodeled the whole building so nicely and surprisingly fit several tables. It's a bit of a tight squeeze but everything else makes it worth it. Service was top notch, friendly and knowledgeable. Suggested great items like the crispy wings, which was my favorite dish and the mago dessert. They told us this is a seasonal item, the mango is only up to their standard of quality 3 months out of the year. The ceviche was a wonderful surprise along with the rice puffs. Last, the Khao Soi got better as it sat there, so many layers of flavors and the crispy noodles were a great add on. There was a wait but it went by faster than suggested. They turn over tables very quickly but I wouldn't bring a very big party here unless outside seating is optional. I can't wait to come back and try additional items.

I love love love hanuman and every location that they own. It's crazy how consistent they are with the food. Pad see ew with beef or chicken is my favorite. The chicken wings are a must. Seafood ceviche is delicious. And the panang curry with hanger steak is beautiful. The mango sticky rice is the highlight.

I'm certainly going to make a very bold statement about this Hidden Gem of the restaurant. This place is the newest of the Franchise that started at the Costa Mesa location and branched out to the main area of Tustin, where many of the small businesses are located! It's highly recommended that you try this particular place. The reason being that the owner, Jenny, stays here doing daily tasting of the dishes and monitors all of the operations! I recommend that the soup dish, fried chicken and noodles should be tried first time and then get the rest of the menu when you bring all of your Mukbang friends!

Service and food was amazing! Only thing missing was a plate of roasted duck on the menu. We ordered the yellowtail ceviche which needs more yellowtail and less pineapple I'd pass on that. Also had the karee (yellow curry with chicken), drunken noodles, shrimp fried rice, and the cha la la la dessert which is shaved ice drenched in thai tea, with corn flakes and so much more that seem to work. If you have an issue with different food textures than don't try it but otherwise yes because it's so good! The food is delicious and is served family style.

All I can say is WOW! Stopped here while waiting for my car to get new tires installed. It looked delicious from pics I saw online and knew I had to stop in for a bite. They have a nice patio if you want to eat outside, a few bar seats, and tables surrounding it. Started off with a cocktail called something Samui, it was deliciously refreshing with natural mint flavors. For an appetizer I had to try the Son-In-Law's Egg. They're deep fried hard boiled eggs in a caramelized tamarind glaze. The batter they use to fry them in is so light it adds just the right amount on crispy to the outside. The glaze is perfectly sweet and sour. For my entree I had to try the Gai Todd Hat Yai. It's Thaj street food style fried chicken wings from the chef's hometown with a side of sticky rice and a sweet chili sauce. They were seriously good! The wings were perfectly crispy again with a nice light batter. They had a nice flavor and were super juicy. They came out piping hot too which was nice. The sweet chili sauce was nice to drizzle on top and the sticky rice was great. I had to get some curry to bring home to the fiancé so I got the green curry with chicken. It was a flavor explosion with a good spicy kick to it. She was very happy with it :) The hostess and servers were all very friendly and more than happy to walk you through the menu if you're unfamiliar with Thai cuisine or your first time dining here. If you have a chance I definitely recommend stopping by. I gotta go back to try at least 6 other dishes that look equally amazing!

We came for an early dinner on Sat and there was no wait. But by the time we left there was a lot of people waiting outside. No wonder there was a time limit. The food was fantastic and perfect for sharing so you can try a bit of everything. Highly recommend the ceviche, chicken wings and khao soi. Some of the best Thai food I've had in this area by far. And the service was excellent. They checked on us throughout the evening and were super nice. It's a great spot for a good dinner and comfort Asian food. Would definitely come back, especially for the hospitality.

Food was amazing! So glad they opened up another location but the wait is still crazy so do try to get there early if you can. But they do have a yelp waitlist but you need to be within the radius in order to join. I wish the portions were bigger, especially for the price you pay. Great place to grab dinner with friends and family.

I've had this place on my list for the longest time and I was so glad to have finally tried it! I ordered the Pad Se Ew, Panang with Hanger Steak, and Fried Chicken. All were tasty, but my favorite was the Pad Se Ew. It was probably one of the best I've ever had and the sauce it came with made it way better. Overall, great food and will have to go back to try other dishes!

Another location! My first time was at their Costa Mesa location. Definitely recommend checking in on yelp beforehand because it does get busy and it's not that big inside. Came on a Wednesday night and waited about 15 minutes. Ordered the following: - Gai Todd Hat Yai $24 Fried chicken wings with sticky rice; would order again to share - Panang Curry with hangar steak $23 Has a nice kick and lots of flavor but personally wouldn't order again. Steak was chewy and flavor got tiring towards the end. Maybe better if you're sharing with someone else - Hanumans fried rice $21 Comes with Chinese sausage and pretty good! - Mango Sticky Rice; it's good but don't think it's worth $18 Overall, everything was good, but wouldn't come often as I think it's a bit pricey for Thai food. Service was good though and we sat near the back so the servers were very attentive.

THAT UMAMI - PERIOD! Does anyone else feel like Thai food is sort of like white wine??? Stay with me here, I LOVE CURRY - in all its colors AND cultures: Indian, Japanese, or Thai, green, red, yellow (I am sensitive about spice....) add in some coconut milk...my oh my.... see...so for me it's easy to get lost in the curry and coconut and rice...that I "over look the thinness, minimal veggies, slightly watered down flavor..."but it's decent....sorta like white table wine in Italy! Hanuman is the opposite: The rich, thick, perfectly flavored curry sauce, is in EVERY WAY umami....the protein is presented apart from the sauce, atop a bed of rice, large, correctly prepared....it could easily stand on its own. I have only been twice, I am eager to explore the menu...but keep getting stuck on Massaman Curry with chicken. Everything looks amazing. Decor - clean, minimal, stylish. Wood, with tasteful cultural decor, and some playful kitsch. The bar has a generous amount of seats as well. The service is excellent, we had the pleasure of being served by Oscar, most recently. All staff is legitimately friendly, and the bathrooms are stylish as well. You have every reason to eat here, it will...change your Thai ;)!!

    Massaman curry with hangar steak

Big fan of this spot. Their service is on point and really attentive, but aware when not to intrude on people enjoying their food. This curry was thick and very savory, and the hangar steak was able to be cut with fork/spoon! Very nice restaurant inside and I can see people wanting to eat outside too. 10/10 recommend

    Papaya Salad
    Jasmine R.

My boyfriend and I love Thai food and were excited to check out this spot however it wasn't everything we thought it would be. We ordered our usual appetizer, Papaya Salad, and were someone disappointed with the flavor compared to other places we've tried. We also tried the Crying Tiger appetizer and that was well cooked and much tastier. For our entree we split the yellow curry and it wasn't what we were expecting. They served the curry with chicken breast which was good but the grilling flavor took away from the curry. The Curry itself was really good but there was so little of it compared to the chicken and rice that it was difficult to enjoy.

Absolute banger. Top 3 Thai restaurants of all time. Number one thing you gotta get is their Hat Yai chicken wings and eat them things with hands. Grab that rice, dip in their sweet sauce, roll it around their crispy shallots, take a bite of that wing and rice. Thank me later. Everything about this place is 10/10 -- atmosphere, interior decor, attentive service, friendly hosts, food, food, dessert. Aside from the Hat Yai, we also got the Rad Naa and Green Curry, both yumms. And of course, when it's in season, do NOT miss out on the mango sticky rice. Our first exposure to this place was out in Costa Mesa where we got to meet the owner, Jenny. Couple years and a couple Hanuman expansions later, we see her again in our most recent visit at their Orange location. Always such a pleasant conversation. Fun fact: Jenny is from Hat Yai, city in Thailand... if you were wondering why I rave so much about their Hat Yai wings. Personal fun fact: my first exposure to Hat Yai chicken was in Portland at a very well known spot called Pok Pok. I mention this because Hanuman's version... tops theirs (sorry).

It needed the sauce of course! Spicy Wontons (4/5): These are solid and the chili oil does pack a lot of heat. I would say they are on the spicier side, just wish there was a little more depth to it. Seven Grams XLB (4/5): Juicy and flavorful! Not the absolute best I've had, but still worth ordering. Golden Beef Noodle Soup (5/5): This bowl right here was amazing. Seating consider is around 10 tables plus hjgh top stools, so if you are a large group the wait can be long. We stopped by yesterday to try out some new items, which were a mixed bag. First the Cheese Chicken Roll was surprisingly good. Imagine the Beef Roll and swap things around to get something off of a fancy KFC menu. It features a crispy flaky tortilla outside, wrapped around copious chicken (katsu texture), some lettuce for a crunch, some melted cheese, and then a spicy Thousand-Island type dressing. It all pairs well, has a good chicken portion, and texture variation too. My only desire would be for slightly more lettuce and slightly less cheese, otherwise perfect. Crispy Lotus Root Fries are solid, but not a replacement for typical potato fries. The lotus version was not as crispy or crunchy, but would be an Asian version. It comes with ketchup and the same spicy thousand island dressing as the chicken roll. Lastly we were let down by the Pan Fried Shrimp&Chicken Dumplings (Whole Wheat). The whole wheat wrapping had a very slight texture difference, not as chewy as the typical dumpling wrapping. But the inside was the main focus. It seemed like it was a fishball inside, a homogenous color and texture and more reminiscent of fish than of shrimp. It's possible we got the wrong dumpling. Based on this experience we would not order it again. Wheat wrapping would be fine, but the shrimp/chicken filling would be a no.

Most of the time we come here for lunch as they have a FANTASTIC LUNCH MENUE at very decent prices (please note the lunch menu does present smaller portions) The restaurant is always clean, well maintained and with ample seating.

Received the flyer in the mail so decided to give it a try for the lunch menu. They serve soup…read morefirst, wife says it is hot and sour soup, it was spicy for sure. I finished it out of hunger, she did not. I ordered mongolian beef and noodle instead of rice, they give you the option. Wife ordered the cashew chicken. It comes with an egg roll as well. Served piping hot and reasonable portion. meat was tender and sauce flavorful. Egg roll was an egg roll. They all seem to taste the same weather you get them from 3 item combo store or better restaurant. Not here for the egg roll. Wife had the cashew chicken, it was presented well. Water with lemon was served, not offered a soft drink or other beverage. The dear wife can be a food critic and her response was she enjoyed the meal. I did as well. I did notice the noodles had an different taste to them, could have used a little soy sauce maybe. Overall not a bad experience. Would I go again, maybe, if the wife brings it up. The flyer shows a chef that has an impressive resume. With all the options on the menu I can say our meal was enjoyable.

Came back again after a while and they changed their menu! Sad that they took away my favorite…read moremushroom soup (I get it everytime) on the new menu but the new summer items are included on the menu. Open on holidays like July 4th, like a true Asian restaurant! Got the: 1. Cajun green beans ($14): 9/10, the lemon pepper butter sauce was scrumptious, I even wanted to add rice to it. -1 for green beans that are on the old side and the ends weren't chopped off. The corn nuts on top are meant to give a nice crunch, and while they tried to crush it, it's still too hard for my liking, so we mixed it with the sauce so it could soften up. 2. Seafood soup ($26): 7/10 and not worth the $26, as the swai fish is very little, you get only approx 4 shrimps, and the owner couldn't allow subbing calamari for more shrimp as he explained that the seafood is all pre-portioned out. The soup is very sour like Tom yum but it had too much lemongrass and was too sour for my liking. It came with 3 pieces of cucumber that could rival Ding Tai Fung and spicy sauce that seemed like their rendition of Lao gan ma. The price would've made me -1 but they get a +1 for the cucumber and Lao gan ma type spicy sauce, otherwise it would've been a 6/10 for me. 3. Mushroom & Beef Stir Fry ($23): 9/10, the beef reminds me of shaken beef and the sauce is very flavorful of beef. Love that the rice is delicious chicken rice, it's so addictive! If the mushroom was more umami it would take this up to a 10. 4. Garlic Noodles with Prawn ($22): 10/10, my second favorite on the menu (my fav is still the discontinued mushroom soup) and out of all the garlic noodles I've had, this is the best one. It's garlicky, the noodles are perfect texture, and the shrimp are large and crisp. I've been ordering garlic noodles at every Viet restaurant I've been to and haven't met a better executed one 5. For dessert, pistachio mouse cake ($12): 10/10, never knew pistachio and berries are a good combo but it was so mind blowing! The pistachios had the perfect crunch, and the wild berry sauce helped cut the richness of the cake. I only wish there was 2-3 more pieces of strawberry as it is the perfect accompaniment to cut the richness of the mouse cake. TLDR: summer menu is worth a go (minus the seafood soup) and please bring back the mushroom soup!!
