Very good. Not nearly as greasy as most Chinese. Rice was high quality, which was completely unexpected. Def my local spot now.

So... we traveled 1200 miles to have wonderful Chinese Food. The Aberdeen, located off the lobby…read moreof the White Plains Residence Inn, is known for its dim sum - which is excellent. However, the rest of the broad and deep menu is excellent as well. The rich Sweet Corn Chicken Soup is sweet, thick (but not gummy) and quite tasty. The pan fried dumplings were outstanding. They were perfectly cooked and well stuffed with minced pork and veggies. The Honey Walnut Shrimp were amazing - plump and perfectly dressed. Finally, the Sesame Chicken was amazing. Perfectly cooked but the best thing is that the chicken was moist, rich and flavorful. So, if we're ever back in White Plains, you know where we'll be dining.

Behind it is, by reputation, one of the best dim sum restaurants ever. The decor may be basic but the menu is broad and offers too many wonderful sounding choices. Friendly, helpful servers take your drink order and there's a QR code you can use to get your food but they have physical menus and will take your order to make things easier. We opted for a more traditional meal. The chicken corn soup had a rich broth and was loaded with chicken, corn and egg. The pan fried pork dumplings were crispy and delicious. The sesame chicken had a rich, sweet, sticky sauce on perfectly cooked chicken. The honey walnut shrimp were a delight. The portions are generous and more than enough to share. The quality and freshness of the ingredients are probably the reason for the slightly higher prices.

We started with the lettuce wraps which were amazing. The chengdu rice again which isn't my favorite, there's something in there that I don't like but I can't figure out what the flavor is, it's just not something I'm used to. The soup dumplings were amazing I love truffle and I'm so happy about this addition to the menu! The braised beef clay pot was so yummy and warm and hearty, perfect for a chilly day. The thing that I am still befuddled by is that I had stomach issues again the next day! I didn't even have the same menu items as last time so I'm not sure what the issue is. But it still won't stop me because I love Chinese food way too much lol.

Overall, good food at a reasonable price with busy but helpful servers!…read more Shrimp and pork shumai 7.5/10 warm and a lovely m pork flavor, great texture with the thin dumpling skin. These were a great recommendation from one of my waiters, and my only complaint is I wish the dipping sauce had black vinegar or a bit of a stronger flavor, it was sweet and a bit bland and I think it could have added more complexity to the pork and shrimp instead of muting it. Scallion pancakes 6.5/10 they were shatteringly crisp and flaky on the outside and soft on the inside, texturally were delightful and exactly what I hoped for from the photos on the menu, and it was a good portion size, but there was about three flecks of scallion per pancake piece--very faint scallion flavor, almost indetectable, so they were fairly bland. Stir fry with handmade noodles and chicken 6.5/10 the noodles were thick and chewy, they actually blended in well with the chicken visually haha! the sauce was nicely thick to hold up to the noodles and the dish felt simple but carefully made with the the thin slices of chicken (half of which were perfectly cooked and half of which were just a little tough), with a scattering of bell peppers that still had a little crunch, a pleasant contrast to the other soft textures, and a bit of green onion--if I tried this again, I would ask for extra vegetables. I'm glad I tried this dish, but next time would try another item on their menu or maybe just get two dumplings orders... Beyond the food, the waiters were quick to respond when I asked for water or a to go container and they offered helpful recommendations, while clearly busy with takeout and in-restaurant customers. The atmosphere was casual with some wooden lattice work that added character and music that brought me back about a decade or two haha, it wasn't a huge space but it didn't feel crowded with warm lighting and dark wood.

I wish there were more locations of this in Manhattan. We made an order at the desk before we seated ourselves and for a Saturday evening, there was quite a bit of open tables which was great. I ordered the Szechuan Braised Beef Noodles and they were absolutely delicious. The noodles tasted a bit like ramen noodles but they were able to grab all the delicious and garlic flavored soup. I really appreciated the soft-boiled egg with its marinated egg whites. I also loved the big tender beef chunks as well. Overall, I really cannot wait to go back to Zhongzhong noodles and I hope that they open up more locations. I will say though that since I last went to the Roosevelt Island location, they have raised their prices quite a bit - maybe $2 or $3 per dish.
