Update: Today I went in to get my nails done for my best friends birthday. The nail tech cut me 3 times, blamed me for one of them cuz I "grabbed my water bottle". She was quite rough and now my nails hurt and are covered in acrylic that was over my nails and fingers. If I go back I'll definitely go to either Jessica or eda only. This is my second time coming here. The first time it was amazing, this second one was meh. I came both times for French tip gel manicures. This review is for the second trip. First off, the person who did my set did not seem like she was all there. She wasn't consistent with her cleaning, such as my cuticles and nails. She started off shaping my right hand and then she had another person do my left?! She said I'm lucky but I didn't feel lucky because they were not even, nor all the nails were shaped to be square. Then she proceeded to clean my cuticles and she nipped me twice, in which I didn't notice I was bleeding until I cleaned my hands. She obviously saw but didn't even apologize or acknowledge her roughness. I knew she saw because she even wiped off the blood with a towel. I was hoping this trip would be nice and quick, but no. I told her I didn't want too thick of a tip on my nails and she said okay. None of my tips were even, none of them smooth, and not even the same shape. My thumb nail got messed up during the gel, she fixed it but it's obviously still not good! She would forget to turn on the machine when my fingers were in there. I was there for almost an hour so when she asked me if it was okay I just said yes because I got tired of her trying to fix her mistakes. She's super sweet but I was left disappointed. I rarely get my nails done so having this set kinda upsets me. From far away they're not bad, but up close you can see how uneven everything is. read more

Eda is amazing and really brought my nails back to life! She is really good at creating a perfectly shaped nail for your finger. Before, my previous manicurist kept my acrylics too long and even filed them unevenly at times. Eda, however, ensures the right and left nails match--without me having to double check! She is very gentle and takes her time with everything. I really loved how she even cleaned the underside of my acrylics where my real nails had started to grow out. That constant attention to detail is something I value in a manicurist. If I lived closer, I'd definitely visit her more often! Happiness nails itself is a really nice salon! It's kept clean, everything is new and updated, the pedi massage chairs are extremely comfortable, and my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the 30 minute foot and leg massage that came with his pedicure! They even let him wait in the massage chair until Eda was finished with my full set! Keep in mind, we did come on a Wednesday afternoon (~3 PM) so it wasn't busy. I definitely recommend making an appointment before coming as Eda and Anna seem to be the most sought after manicurists. Got myself a deluxe spa pedicure. My experience was so relaxing and comfortable. Made a 2 PM appt. with Van. I was greeted at the front desk, by Katie. She let my nail tech knows that i'm here for the pedi. Van greeted me with a Hi and asked, how my day was going. I already like her once I saw her friendly gesture and her beautiful smile. I got the deluxe pedi with gel polish. She did mentioned that is $10 more for gel polish just in case I didn't know about it. Which is nice because some people can get really upset without informing them first. As for me, that's no problem because anything that has to do with gel will cost a lil more VS reg. Nail polish. If you do your nails often YOU should know anything with gel, designs, add ons will be extra :) I'm so happy that I got Van. She have such a bubbly personality. I'm already in love with her. She's always smiling and funny too. I'm always a fan of sweet nail tech because it make the experience more memorable. As for my pedi goes, she give the best foot massage and the stone massage was a pleasant relaxation to my sore legs. The scrub was great also. Like she's scratching my feet which feels good because it was getting itchy anyways. She made sure that there was no hanging cuticles and went back a few times to cut and nip. First time here. I am from SF and I was just in Ell Grove for a couple days and decided to get my nails done. Anyways, I called them around 4pm and they said I could just walk-in. I came around 5 and was able to get a spot; I only waited a few minutes for someone to come. Vicky came and she got started immediately. It took shorter amount of time compared to other places in SF that I've been to. There was no kind of massage or "spa" included in the routine, not even the warm towel that I usually get in SF. Not sure if things are just different here. Price: I came for a full set of acrylics and on the phone, they said $22 (which was super cheap!! I thought maybe she misheard and thought I said a manicure/pedicure) but Vicky told me it would be $25 for the full set, which was also fine. It was an additional $12 if you wanted to get gel so it would've been $37. I just went with regular polish this time. I paid her $5 tips so total was $30. Acrylic Quality: I like the shape and length Vicky helped me achieve!! My left thumb was slightly uneven, but it's not extremely noticeable. To the polish part- I had a hard time choosing a color and didn't come prepared so I took a while looking. Vicky had to rush me because she said she had another customer, which I understand. However, I guess that was why my nails ended up a tad sloppy :( In the pictures, you can see my polish was messy and not evenly coated all the way.. WOW--just wow. You guys, please take my word for it. This nail salon is amazing. I had the most horrible experience a day prior to coming here. My nails were a monstrosity! Like, I'm offended by how bad that a previous salon did them. I swear, I'm not even very picky. They were HORRID. I'm not going to put that specific salon on blast, but you can check my Yelp reviews to see. I came here and I was so embarrassed by my nails. In fact, when I was getting my pedicure before getting my nails redone, I could tell they were laughing at my nails. But they had every right to! If you check the review, you will laugh as well. Anyways, Vickie did my nails and took her time. She removed them, took proper care of them, and did them all over again. She even told me she was laughing with her coworker in Vietnamese. She was great conversation and so sweet. She also told me to next time just make an appointment with her so I don't have to ever go through that again, haha. Okay here I am doing another nail salon review! I warned you all I am a nail salon "tramp"! I don't stay with one salon for long. However I started coming here to see Anna as a recommendation from one of the checkers at Raleys! I have been coming consistently for about 6 months now. Pros - Reasonably priced for non gel nail fills. Around $15 to $18 to start and of course the price goes up with designs , gel, fiberglass etc. Anna and Cindy are talented Techs and take their time with out being pokey. Great selection of gel and non gel color options of Polish Daisy DND brand which has a gel and non gel option of each color. Typical looking nail salon , somewhat cluttered and not the best set up as the pedicure stations are in the middle of the room.. seems pretty clean though. Located close to my house. Cons- Be prepared to wait even with an appointment here . It gets somewhat frustrating when you are waiting 20 to 30 minutes past your appointment time but since the price is reasonable and the work is quality I am willing to deal with it. I just ensure I am not pressed for time when I go in . I have been a few minutes late for my appointments and still usually wait a few minutes which evens things out. My wife and I came here on date night and I left a happy camper. I was a little apprehensive as I have never had a pedicure before. The facility is clean and well maintained. Parking is fairly easy as they share a huge lot with several neighboring businesses. My wife got a mani and pedi and I just got a pedi. I take care of myself and my nails were fine. However my feet are calloused and dried out and were in need of some TLC. I left a new man and my feet felt like a million bucks. Service was attentive and friendly. I sprung for the hot stone massage and it was to die for. I passed on the clear coat cause I'm not that kind of guy. Overall it was a great experience and I'll definitely be back. Beware if you're going to leave a tip, let them know before they run your card. I assumed you could pen one in but that's not the case. I have been coming to this nail salon off and on for the last 5 years. I have tried multiple salons in the great Elk Grove area and when it comes to a great pedicure, I always end up right back at Happiness Nails. If I had just gotten a pedicure yesterday then this would have been a 5 star review. However, this was not the case. In addition to my pedicure, I got my eyebrows waxed. The lady was honestly a bit rough, she laid me down on the chair/bed and started with some aggressive wiping of the skin around my brows, applied wax and did one fast rub of the cloth and ripped. Okay not too crazy since she is literally pulling hair out of my face, so we finish, again with rough wiping of things off and on my face. I asked her not to apply any oil, she got irritated that I would ask such a thing as she applied and then told me she was going to apply aloe vera. I'm thinking, hopefully I don't get a rash as I normally do with the oil. She finishes, I don't even look as I just wanna get outta there at this point. Until I get home. I cried at my eyebrows, I have a rather hard time growing in the fuller looking eyebrows that I have (had) and to my surprise when I looked at them they are incredibly thin and not shaped at all how I requested. If I seen a picture of my own eyebrows right now I would swear to you I have no idea who they belonged to. I am not only crying of anger but of disbelief that someone could have even achieved this in such a short amount of time. So, if you are into surprise eyebrows then this is definitely your new place!! read more
