This review is for Happy Diner's Catering service. Roman and his crew know how to cater a party! I chose option #1 and everything was delicious. My family had Happy Diner cater a few parties before, so I knew the quality and care I was going to receive. They were professional all the way, they detailed their menu and services, gave me a fair price and delivered on quality, friendly service and great taste. They transformed my backyard party into a fancy yet casual celebration. They made me feel as if I was the boss, I cannot express enough my gratitude for Roman and his crew. If you don't hire Roman for your next party, enjoy a meal at his restaurants, Happy Diner.

Quick attentive service, and delicious food. The egg, bacon and waffle special was a good choice. The waffle was fluffy inside and crispy on the outside with a great amount of pineapple and shredded coconut. Lots of parking.

My aunt brought my mom and I here for breakfast the other day and I opted for the Meat Lovers Omelette. Our waitress brought me my plate with the food almost hanging off and some hash brown fell, sloppy work. She was also inattentive but it is what it is. Back to the food, I was a little over it after the first few bites and the hash brown had somewhat of a weird flavor. The omelette itself tasted a bit too oily/buttery to my liking and I got a little stomach ache afterwards. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.

This place pretty much always hits, you honestly can't really go wrong, I always come here for breakfast so I can't say much about lunch or dinner items, but can always count on having a yummy breakfast here! Service when I go is usually bare minimum, so I feel it could be better, but as far & food and portions go it's definitely something I can recommend & keep going back to!

New location right off Western and 25th yummy awesome food, friendly service and reasonable prices breakfast sandwich and meatloaf sandwich are my favorites. Roy is having the Spanish omelette they have traditional diner food, but they also have some bomb Mexican dishes that are totally legit and I've liked everything. I've tried here and at their other locations. This is a family business and it's very consistent and there's always a family member present making sure everything is right. Give it a try. It's nice convenient spot for South Shores and upper San Pedro now has a happy diner, conveniently close to Palos Verdes also and the nearby beach and Royal Palms great place to start the day with your family before a big day at the beach

THIS PLACE IS PERFECT. Fast service, amazing food and the coziest restaurant. The menu is huge. They have all breakfast items with lunch and dinner options. It's hard to make a decision! The parking lot is a bit small and the location is odd but there's parking on the street too. This is a perfect spot to go for breakfast or brunch! The workers are the best too, friendly atmosphere for sure.

I didn't know a place like this existed. I came with a friend from work who was familiar with the area and she knew of this place. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and treated like family. I watched as other customers came in after me, and the staff knew them by first name. We sat in their spacious dining area and I ordered the San Pedro Burrito. It came recommended by the server. When my food came, the server brought both red and green sauce to go with my food. After cutting the burrito in half, you could see and feel the steam coming out of it! It was hot and you could see the melted cheese spreading as I pulled the burrito apart. You could tell, this place cooks their food with their hearts and every dish has it's own personal touch from the cooks. Please stop by and try this place. You will be pleasantly surprised. I was!

They have a big selection, with breakfast being their "best". Food is delicious, and they will happily adjust your order to your request/diet ( I do it all the time). I feel like we get a good value for the money. They are very good about keeping your drinks filled, and the food comes up quick after you order. Parking at this location can get packed, so sometimes we choose to park on the street ( spaces are close together). Two restrooms available at this location, both large enough to accommodate handicapped access. It can get crowded, especially early in the day, so be prepared. The downside: the noise. It's very noisy. You will not have an "intimate dining experience", that's for sure. If you are looking for that, this isn't your place. There is one bus boy and one very loud waitress that works on the weekend, plus the kitchen staff are always dropping things and making noise (the kitchen is up front and out in the open). For a family outing ( that's what we are... a family of four), it's just fine, and doesn't bother us. ENJOY!

I can't rave enough about this place. First time there today with my sister and her husband. We tried each others and we were all impressed. And will be back on a weekly basis. I can't wait to try the other items on the menu. Service was great. Our server was super friendly and all around just a great personality- I wish I could remember her name but the food coma has set in.

After waiting almost 20 minutes and watching the cook play around with my food with no gloves, I get home to finally eat my half stack of Pancakes and after taking a few bites I notice that they taste like burnt sausage and bacon from the griddle not being cleaned. My friend also got a good taste of burnt styrofoam from his food burning through the to go box. Lol! read more

We had little to no wait for a late Saturday breakfast. The staff was so very friendly and accommodating. We were waiting for a table that wasn't directly in the sun. We were invited to sit inside while our table was being cleaned off. It was our first time at this restaurant. It won't be the last!!! We ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast and a pumpkin pancake. They were both delicious. The steak was tender and the gravy tasty and well seasoned. I loved that the fried potatoes were skinless.. they were perfect. My only "complaint" is that I won't be able to order pumpkin pancakes anywhere else..: nothing will compare. read more

I have enjoyed this place very much up until the last 2 visits. The last two times I have been here I have gotten sick shortly after consuming the food. The first time I thought was just random but now that it has happened a second time it makes me wonder what potential cross contamination is occurring. Maybe dishes are not washed properly or raw food is prepped and then ready to eat food is touched. I've read a few other reviews from guests seeing money handled and then food handled. I'm sad to say but we will have to find a new go to lunch spot. The customer service is great but I can't risk my health just because they are nice. read more

Looking for lunch on our way to San Pedro Sunday we passed this place and having enjoyed the food here before we whipped around and went back. Todays repast consisted of a BLT with fried "zukes" for my bride who said it was good but wished the bread was toasted more, and I had the Sourdough Burger with 1/2 fries & onion rings, fantastic! The burger on my sandwich wasn't one of typical kind you find around town, i.e., you what I mean, 4' around and a ¼" thick and made in a factory somewhere! This was big and hand formed and delicious! The sides were fresh and crispy and the onion and zucchini didn't slide out when bitten into. As before we'll be back! read more

After seeing really great yelp reviews I decided to get a breakfast burrito here. I'm a vegetarian so I asked them three times for a burrito with no meat and no cheese. When I walked in they called me princessa then charged me almost $8 for a burrito that the menu said was $5.95. This place is great. I keep waiting to see it on Diners, Drive-in's and Dives. My family loves going to breakfast and my son found this place while out with friends one day. The portions are generous and the food is good. It isn't fancy but it is classic diner food with some fun twists. Service is friendly and welcoming. Loco Moco is a favorite for my husband, I enjoy the omelettes or a waffle combo. They even have a beef stroganoff omelette, haven't tried it! A fun tip for boaters - you can use the guess docks near the fire station and walk a couple blocks to the restaurant. read more

I was informed I've never written nor mention my experience with the "Happy Diner "...... well here we go ! I will say without a doubt this place has the BEST breakfast/lunch in all of Pedro!! The food is always on POINT,FRESH & they never compromises there quality! I make a point to sit a the bar to watch the action from the chiefs ( Beto & Omar)who are most definitely Masters of their trade! Not to sell sort the bus boys(men) and dishwashers who without them this well oiled machine would most definitely come to a screeching holt!!They have a loyal following that never wavers because of this. I love this diner! Always look forward to coming here when I make the important decision on what to eat. Every staff member is attentive and friendly. You never have to ask for a refill because they're on top of all the tables. Food is great tasting and very filling. I love how everyone here knows each other. I absolutely love this place! The food is made from very fresh ingredients and the staff is really polite, especially Britney. Britney knows the menu so thoroughly that I'm tempted to quiz here about each item. However, the menu has a wide variety of items to select from, along with a bulletin board loaded with a ton more. So far I've tried the chicken fried steak and eggs with home fries. Unlike other places, it's not a frozen chicken patty covered with gravy, it's actually a breaded steak with breading and gravy. The home fries are second to none. The tamales here are delicious! I didn't want to make a pig of myself, but I could have easily ate a second one. On my most current visit, I tried the chili cheese omelet. It was beyond great! If that can be possible. The chili is homemade and has so much taste. I highly recommend the this dish or a bowl of chili on its own. I believe our dining experience is heightened by the excellent service from Britney. Try and see if she can assist you during your visit as well. read more

So My boyfriend has been wanting to try this place for awhile now and today was the day. So let me first say the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming which is awesome. My review is solely based on the food. I ordered carne asada fries. I'm not sure what meat they used but it for darn sure was not Carne asada. This is my go to cheat food and I've eaten it from all over the state, and this was by far the worst Ive ever had . I literally picked out the mystery meat and ate the Pico and fries. Then my boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles. Now you think that ordering wings means, that's what you gonna get. He got 4 small drumettes that were over cooked. The waffle was hard as heck with no flavor but the eggs were cooked as requested. This order was just under $30. I don't mind paying for delicious food but, we were extremely disappointed with what we got today. read more

I went in today with my wife on lunch break 1hr lunch break it was not that busy ordered bfast burrito and BLT literally took my whole lunch break to get our food my wife got her burrito first she was able to eat by the time I got my food we had to go her food was good no complaints my sandwich was ok ish bacon was a little burnt they forgot the cheese in the sandwich. ‍‍ read more

The churro waffle - amazing! The crispy, cinnamon sugar outside with the fluffy waffle center all tied together with vanilla ice cream.... worth every bite My coffee never got below 1/2 cup. Food was terrible. I don't understand all the compliments about the food. I will agree thou the wait staff are very friendly and quick to respond to our needs. I had the Ribeye steak with eggs and hash browns and the ribeye was just terrible. Left 3/4 of my plate. Meaning I enjoyed the eggs and sourdough toast. read more

Enjoy this location. Always know someone here and male staff is pleasant. Female staff not exactly. Mostly on their cell phones and flirting with the men who eat lunch here. Food is good. Only item I do not like is their Carne Asada. read more

This restaurant packs it in! Great place to grab a bite with a wonderful and welcoming staff. I've gotten to know the owners and people here quite well and they are always overly accommodating. I love to give my business to who I consider good people, so I went straight to happy diner. Knowing they have great street tacos there, I asked the owner, Roman, if he catered parties using a taco stand. He said yes gave me some details and we closed the deal in minutes! Best decision I made was using Roman and the lovely people at happy diner who helped out! They come fully prepared with chips, salsa and all of the taco toppings (onion, cilantro etc)! The meats were cooked fresh in front of my 45 guests, not one person was unhappy and almost everyone was asking me for his contact information! I highly recommend not only the happy diner chain, but definitely using Roman for your catering needs. Him and his team are a great group, and I'm lucky to now consider them my friends! read more

This service is usually Top Notch and there was actually a great variety of food to choose from and a wonderful specials board from which you will find a variety of options to satisfy your inquiring taste buds. My favorite dish is the omelette with Michalka cheese. French toast is something you really need to try if you have a sweet tooth. The staff is always friendly and efficient.
