Eating low carb I chose the Cobb Salad, it was delicious! The freshness and flavor of each component blends well in this salad, the avocado and fresh bacon bits add the extra touch. My only regret is not ordering the full size, this is their half and the full size only is two dollars more. The friendly prompt service, the hot cup of coffee and the relaxed atmosphere is always served here.

It's always nice to have a go to coffee shop in your neighborhood. Hot N Tot is a bustling local coffee shop that is great for breakfast. They also serve dinner but I pretty much go there in the morning. You'll usually have a wait for a table but there is counter seating as well. Service is friendly and prompt. Standard breakfasts are solid. Bacon and eggs plus choice of potatoes (I prefer hash brown style) and toast. I have also sampled the hash since I'm a big hash fan. Roast beef hash was compacted into a patty--good flavor but the texture wasn't for me. They also have multiple healthy options such as turkey and spinach egg white scrambles with fruit. Several Mexican style breakfasts are are also available, I have tried the oatmeal as well which was generous and filling. Side note: house made salsa is available and is a nice breakfast complement. I guess you could say I'm a regular here.

Pretty good breakfast joint. I only went once after a doctor appointment I had to go to in that area. My parents joined me and shared a plate. I ordered their veggie omelet, light on the cheese. It was pretty good. The vibe of the place reminds me of going to Hofs Hut (I hope it's OK to say that). The coffee could've been a bit stronger, but I really liked it. Service was good. The restaurant really appeals to families/ groups in my opinion, with lots of options to choose from and meals for all hours of the day like any classic diner. Not sure I'll go back since it's not in my area, but if I was around there and hungry, sure, why not? I will say that I really also enjoyed the hash browns. They are perfectly cooked with a crispy excision l exterior without the inside being greasy or soggy. Great job on that!

I've been dining here for many years, even after moving more than 30 minutes away. I've come mostly for breakfast and highly recommend. This is a no frills, home style coffee shop that serves all the comfort foods. For breakfast I like their omelets, scrambles, and pancakes. I haven't had many lunch items here but I have had their patty melt which was good. They used to have a very yummy broasted chicken but that was when they were open for dinner. I'm not sure if it's available for lunch. Service here is always really fast, friendly, and efficient. I appreciate that they have had many of the same servers and bussers from when I first started coming. They are very much family to this restaurant. The restaurant itself is not fancy but it's cozy and clean, and it has fun vintage Lomita pics on the walls. This is truly a local comfort place.

Service was good and the food was good! The coffee was also great and I'm use to diner coffees being a bit burnt.

Hadn't come to this place in a while, nostalgic place has been around since before my childhood. Had a great experience. The ambience was very family and old-school diner. The food was cooked as would be expected from an old-school diner. We both had T-bone steak with eggs, potatoes, and toast. The meat was tasty and had a nice Chew to it. The home fries were incredible. Great flavor. Everything was cooked extremely well and seasoned properly. And the service was excellent. They refilled my drink even an empty. The people were very friendly and we were able to get a seat right away at 2 PM for a late brunch. This place is a keeper will definitely be coming back.

Stopped in for the famous chicken fried steak and a breakfast burrito. The chicken fried steak was great and the burrito was just average. The place has a cool old time dinner feel. The service was fine and the food came out quickly and was hot. The prices were on the high side, but not that bad. I would come back if I was in the area, but would not drive from Orange County again to eat here.

This place has been here for many years. Stopped by after touring the botanical gardens near by. The place was very nice with lots of seating for big groups also. The people here were very nice and helpful. The food was very yummy and nice big portions. A very nice diner. Enjoy.

The Hot n Tot is a local coffee shop that is open for breakfast and lunch closing at 3 pm. It's been around for decades. Service is always excellent and so is the basic "comfort food." Portions are large so many things can be shared if you do chose. Parking is easy in their lot.

My sister wanted to come here cuz she said there's usually a huge line but it was a weekday so we went when it wasn't packed. The waitress was very nice and everyone who we talked to were completely nice. The food was so mediocre I was surprised. The prices were great but the hash browns were not crispy or seasoned at all. The carne asada was chewy and seasoned a little. The eggs were a bit under and not seasoned. I was pleasantly surprised by the salsa though, very flavorful and a little spicy. All in all I don't get the big lines.

Awesome experience! We are from out of town. Great service shout out to Lorraine! We appreciate you. Team members great too sorry I missed out on their names. Coffee was very good. I ordered spinach omelette. So tasty ! The homemade salsa was delicious I had to ask for " seconds" Hashbrowns homemade too. We will return soon!

We were thrilled to see a few menu options that were marked as vegan. Bonus points for being affordable! I completely missed their attached parking lot when I arrived and ended up parking across the street in the neighborhood, where there was ample free parking. When we arrived, the restaurant was about half full and there was live music occurring on the patio. We opted to sit inside where it was a little less noisy and there was a comfy and cozy booth calling our name. The vibe was great, with fun and eclectic decor. The service was really upbeat and friendly and our server was so kind and helpful. We asked him if the espresso martini had dairy in it (which I just discovered that is a thing at some places) and he double checked with the bartender to ensure there wasn't my dairy in it! I ordered that alongside a falafel wrap I must say, both of these worked so well together. The espresso martini was light and refreshing yet still had a bold flavor. The falafel was nice and crispy with a delectable inside and the tahini sauce was so rich and creamy. The meal felt indulgent yet hearty all at the same time. I left feeling so uplifted and relaxed all at the same time. Despite it being on the noisier side, I was still able to hear my friend well and it was such a great place for us to catch up. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return the next time I'm in the area!

Overall our meal was great and there were TVs visible from anywhere you sat, which is perfect for a sports bar. My big gripe is being charged $1 for pickles to go with a sandwich. Maybe you get more if they put them directly on the sandwich, but they forgot mine so the pickles came in a ramekin. 6 pickle slices for $1.

My wife and I had an enjoyable breakfast experience, tasting some unique dishes that are worth coming in for. We had a real early errand in the Lomita area, so wanted to take advantage by trying a different breakfast place. They have a really informative website, explaining the owning family's participation and how some of their food is sourced. It's a brunch place (open from 8 am to 2/3 pm, Tu-Su), so needed to wait a bit outside (street parking only, found one hour free parking right in front since coming so early). Menus are available at the front counter, and you place and pay (clover) for your order first. The food came out soon after, delivered to your table. There is a self-serve water jug in the same area as take-as-you-need take-out containers (also saw a self-serve costco-size plastic wrap box for wrapping...such a Korean thing to do). Utensils and napkins are available at the table to take for need. I really like places like this that have optimized the service experience, getting what you need without having to track someone down. Forking Around's Filipino Burrito ($18.95) - a collab with the food influencer 'Forking Around' to put into a breakfast burrito, many common ingredients from a Filipino breakfast. This includes egg, garlic fried rice as base and a vegetable lumpia with longanisa pieces, wrapped in a good flour tortilla. Sides were both a cilantro lime crema and a well made sawsawan. The sausage was not too sweet nor too red (though perhaps a bit too meatloaf-like), and the lumpia in the burrito worked for me. Korean Breakfast with bulgogi and steamed rice ($19.95) - it was served in a cast-iron skillet and the pan had been heated up greatly...super hot when served and still warm by the time we left. The flavor of the bulgogi was solid, and I loved the presentation. Taco Truck Burrito ($17.95) - korean-style al pastor pork, with pineapple and kimchi fried rice and egg. It was good....forgot to ask if the meat was really cooked on a vertical rotisserie. Came with a good chipotle salsa and lime crema. We were done in 30 minutes, from entry to exit. It wasn't too busy, so asked the front-of-house lead where the longanisa sausage and lumpia were made...she stated that it was all in-house. That's really impressive, making an ingredient from scratch that is only used in one dish. This and the elegant presentation and longevity really shows that the entire team behind bites & bashes cafe (catering) knows what they are doing.

The dining room is relatively small, with roughly 10 to 15 tables, and the two employees working the floor were hustling all evening and did a genuinely nice job taking care of everyone. The food itself was solid. The standout dish of the night was actually the grilled asparagus, which came with a soy-based preparation that was absolutely outstanding, perfectly tender and cooked just right. The wedge salad was also very good, and both the 16oz ribeye@$86, and the 8oz filet mignon @$76 were well prepared and enjoyable. Where things became more complicated for me was the overall value proposition. The prices are undeniably steep, especially for Lomita. Whenever I dine somewhere upscale, I inevitably ask myself whether, for the same money, I would have rather gone somewhere else. In this case, the answer was yes. I was also a bit disappointed to discover that there is no full bar. The restaurant seems to steer guests toward wine and sake, with only a handful of beer options available. Unfortunately, the first two beers I ordered, an IPA and then a Modelo, both on the menu, both out of stock, which certainly didn't help my overall impression. The dining room itself felt somewhat drab, all black walls, and lacked the refinement that I would expect at this price point. Dark walls and a crystal chandelier create an interesting contrast, but small details stood out for the wrong reasons. For example, I noticed exposed holes in the bar where a purse hook or latch had apparently been relocated. It may seem minor, but details like that matter when you're charging premium prices. At the end of the night, my wife and I walked out more than $300 lighter. While the food was undeniably good and the service was attentive, the experience simply didn't feel like a $300 evening to us. Overall, The Food Library delivers quality food and hardworking service, but for the price, I left wishing the atmosphere and overall experience matched the bill a bit more closely.

Without any warning or politely letting us know it was time to finish up, a tall white male employee (who refused to provide his name when asked) simply walked up and took the beer off the table. What made it even more frustrating was that there were other tables around us with guests who also had drinks, yet our party was the only one singled out. To make matters worse, we had brought a birthday cake to celebrate. We politely asked another short female employee for a few plastic plates and utensils so we could cut the cake before leaving. We were told no because they were closing. This has never been an issue during our previous birthday celebrations here. These were disposable plastic plates and utensils that would have gone straight into the trash, so refusing such a simple request came across as pure unwillingness to provide basic customer service. I spent 10 years working in the food and hospitality industry before starting my current career, so I understand exactly what closing a restaurant or brewery entails. I know employees want to leave on time, but I also know that providing good customer service until the last guest leaves is part of the job. If customers need to wrap things up, there is a respectful way to communicate that. You don't take someone's drink without warning, and you don't refuse a simple request that would have taken less than a minute. Everyone in our party left upset and disappointed. It was honestly embarrassing to watch employees treat loyal customers this way. This brewery used to be our go-to place for birthdays, but after this experience, we will not be returning. I rarely write negative reviews because I understand everyone has bad days. However, this experience was unacceptable. I sincerely hope management addresses the lack of hospitality and provides better customer service training, because the employees working that evening did not represent the level of service that keeps loyal customers coming back. Both the female worker with tattoos and piercings and the tall male were extremely rude when confronted. If you choose to visit, just be aware that if you're there close to closing time, your experience may depend more on how quickly the staff wants to leave than on making you feel like a valued guest.
