Drastically improved in comparison to years ago. I've returned a few times recently. Food has been great every time. Multiple outstanding experiences with minimal nitpicky issues. The roast beef hash is a stand out dish. Served with hash browns thank you. It's very meaty flavorful, not canned. Texas omelette is their chili omelette. Long winded. I've been craving a chili omelette and could not find a decent one I can eat. I have some limitations. Can't eat bell peppers or egg yolk, shouldn't eat cheese, canned chili messes up my stomach. One place, does it have bell peppers, no, ok, egg whites and no cheese. It arrives with no cheese topping but cheese inside, can't eat it, dumbaxxes. THEIRS HERE, outstanding. Turkey anything has real turkey, not lunchmeat. Onion rings are the beer batter type and very good. It's stupidly difficult to find good ones, they're here. Minor details matter. The little bowl of salsa is extremely good. I prefer the watery type like this over the thick kind. Pepper, most of the time I end up removing the cap because it barely comes out, not here. Parking very easy with their own large lot with a nice garden in the rear. Service outstanding every time, even the buss boy is on top of getting your beverage of choice quickly and keeping it topped off. It's been several years, they really turned it around. Another place I had been wanting to go to since forever. It's been around a long time, and has a good reputation. In other words, my kinda place. I'm still on my quest for the ultimate tuna melt, so decided to give theirs a try. It was delicious; the tuna mix was likely the tastiest I've found in my travels so far. A choice of sides came with it; I chose a decent-sized salad. Took at peak at what other diners were having, and everything I saw looked really good. Place was busy, which is always a good sign. I got there around little after noon, and only had a five minute wait myself. (Apparently, they were open late once upon a time, but important to keep in-mind they close at 3p these days.) I'd seen this place while growing up in the area but never actually ate there, so we decided to give it a shot. It was busy at 7:30am but still had seating available, and it wasn't overwhelmingly loud. Seating and tables were clean. Staff was super attentive and kind. The owner was walking around and talking to the usuals. I ordered eggs Benedict with hash browns and I added biscuits with gravy. The hash browns were so good! The eggs were perfect. It's always nice to have a go to coffee shop in your neighborhood. Hot N Tot is a bustling local coffee shop that is great for breakfast. They also serve dinner but I pretty much go there in the morning. You'll usually have a wait for a table but there is counter seating as well. Service is friendly and prompt. Standard breakfasts are solid. Bacon and eggs plus choice of potatoes (I prefer hash brown style) and toast. I have also sampled the hash since I'm a big hash fan. Roast beef hash was compacted into a patty--good flavor but the texture wasn't for me. They also have multiple healthy options such as turkey and spinach egg white scrambles with fruit. Several Mexican style breakfasts are are also available, I have tried the oatmeal as well which was generous and filling. Side note: house made salsa is available and is a nice breakfast complement. Pretty good breakfast joint. I only went once after a doctor appointment I had to go to in that area. My parents joined me and shared a plate. I ordered their veggie omelet, light on the cheese. It was pretty good. The vibe of the place reminds me of going to Hofs Hut (I hope it's OK to say that). The coffee could've been a bit stronger, but I really liked it. Service was good. The restaurant really appeals to families/ groups in my opinion, with lots of options to choose from and meals for all hours of the day like any classic diner. Not sure I'll go back since it's not in my area, but if I was around there and hungry, sure, why not? I will say that I really also enjoyed the hash browns. I've been dining here for many years, even after moving more than 30 minutes away. I've come mostly for breakfast and highly recommend. This is a no frills, home style coffee shop that serves all the comfort foods. For breakfast I like their omelets, scrambles, and pancakes. I haven't had many lunch items here but I have had their patty melt which was good. They used to have a very yummy broasted chicken but that was when they were open for dinner. I'm not sure if it's available for lunch. Service here is always really fast, friendly, and efficient. I appreciate that they have had many of the same servers and bussers from when I first started coming. They are very much family to this restaurant. The restaurant itself is not fancy but it's cozy and clean, and it has fun vintage Lomita pics on the walls. This is truly a local comfort place. read more

Hadn't come to this place in a while, nostalgic place has been around since before my childhood. Had a great experience. The ambience was very family and old-school diner. The food was cooked as would be expected from an old-school diner. We both had T-bone steak with eggs, potatoes, and toast. The meat was tasty and had a nice Chew to it. The home fries were incredible. Great flavor. Everything was cooked extremely well and seasoned properly. And the service was excellent. They refilled my drink even an empty. As always, the Hot-N-Tot hits the spot. The food is really good for breakfast or lunch. Their French toast is done perfectly, cooked all the way through with thick bread. If you're feeling adventurous, try the breakfast bulgolgi! It's delicious, and served with a fried egg if I remember correctly. We always sit at the bar on weekends, it's so fun! LOVE THIS LOCAL BREAKFAST JOINT. I crave the barnyard omelette from time to time. It tastes like a breakfast pot pie. The hash browns are always crispy on the outside and they have tons of options for whatever you're feeling that day. It's never too hard to get a table here, at least in my experience. And it's pretty affordable based on their serving sizes. This place has been here FOREVER. It's a great mom and pop type diner that my wife and I haven't been to in quite some time. But I'm happy to say it's still got great service (the waitress who helped us today was super friendly) and excellent food. If you're a hash brown fan, you can't skip on these. Worth noting - we came at 8:20ish in the morning and there was no wait, although plenty of people seated/ eating inside already.
