    Denver Omelette (1140-1450 cal)

Decided to try out this diner since I'm a fan of traditional diners. This place has most of the markers of what I enjoy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat at the counter and enjoyed the buzz of a busy Sunday morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]And there is a certain charm to the decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Coffee was offered before I got settled in and was served piping hot. Went with their take on a Denver omelette. The portion was massive, though a little on the greasy side. Hash browns were dry, as was the toast. Suggest you ask for butter if you select toast. Though the staff lacked charm that usually is found in a good diner, my experience was pretty good. Cheers!

Took my visiting brother and we both loved the food. Lots of options on the menu and specials. You can even have breakfast all day. Great service, attentive even when it was busy morning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean environment, cute inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

We split the grilled chicken taco salad. A huge and delicious salad! The ingredients were refried beans, grilled chicken, onions. Cheese. Jalapenos, lettuce. Purple cabbage, and tomatoes, and avacodos. Came with thousand island dressing and salsa. On the side. Also 2 waters with ice. Forgot to mention the huge taco shell it was served in. Hubby really loved the shell! For the price I think very fair. Huge portion. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was quiet and peaceful inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Friendly people as well.

Still offering that good comfort food we sometimes crave at affordable prices. We indulged in the Bear's Choice Breakfast (2 eggs, ham and biscuits) and the Pot Roast Melt, with iced tea and coffee. We both enjoyed our meals. Our server as very nice and checked on us regularly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music was great as it was from an old time jukebox box.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean and busy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time at Black Bear Diner and I loved the food! The service was a little spotty (some hit and misses) due to our waitress getting one of the orders wrong, then we had a hard time trying to get her back to the table to tell her about the mistake with the order. I think she tried her best (I don't know her name because she didn't introduce herself with her name) but she seemed to be a bit overwhelmed. My order was: Sweet Cream Pancakes with chicken link and a side of hash -- pancakes were pillow soft and it was all delicious! Overall, the food is undeniably good but the service can use some improvements!

I just love Black Bear. The friendliness staff, period. Great food, prepared perfectly and presented great. I'm always happy to dine here. The restaurant is deceptively large inside and I've never had more than a couple of minutes to be seated. Antonio is a really good waiter. Patient and accurate. Today I ordered the steak and eggs and got enough food for two meals. Big steak, eggs scrambled just right and hash potatoes galore that were so good I finished the entire plate. I can't say good enough things about Black Bear (that's now 30 years in business). The parking lot is big but usually full. Today I parked on the street about 100 yards away. No problem and shows the popularity of this restaurant. I highly recommend dining here for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Try it out.

The mini volcano breakfast was plenty of food. 2 pancakes with a slice of thick cut bacon, egg, and sausage link. The bacon tasted yummy. The pancakes were delicious. My hot cocoa was so good with creamy whipped cream on top. The service was fast and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was campy and cute with the bear theme.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely return. Plenty of parking in private lot.

Made a visit early in the week after 6 and was able to sit right down. Figured I'd go to the counter area that way didn't have to be a bother for the staff to help them out during a weekday Plus you get to see the inner workings between the the pass as well as delivery which is always interesting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restroom was clean enough as pictured.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The stools that you sit on at the counter though they are a bit lacking but they do the job Just hold on as they tend to wobble a little bit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Onto the service staff always does a great job food comes out pretty quickly I typically try to pick times Not a lot of guests are there to compete with delivery. Went with breakfast option eggs Sausage as well as biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy flavoring has improved and the biscuits were cooked this round well. Gravy flavoring on the biscuit was pretty good as well this time don't forget to include three different types of hot sauce at your table. Sausage was pretty good as well as the scrambled eggs.

Stopped in for a country fried steak, service was fast, no wait on a Monday evening for dinner, price was reasonable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant was very empty[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], staff was friendly. Food was good sized and tasted as expected.

Came to Black Bear Diner on Christmas Day and it was the perfect comfort-food stop. If you're looking for generous portions and a reliable, feel-good breakfast, Black Bear Diner is the place to be.

Pancakes were amazing, due to the fluffiness and "sweet cream" flavor. Everything else was just mid. I appreciate the large portions--enough for 2 meals. All for about $25. The pancakes alone will have me coming back.

My family loves coming here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's awesome having a restaurant with a cozy, country feel while still being right in the city.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is always wholesome and comforting. Definitely recommend Black Bear Diner!

It's a small location but the staff was kind and greeted us with smiles. Parking was terrible because they share a lot with two other businesses and we went on a Saturday morning. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated. I love the cabin feel of the restaurant. We have visited another location before and this one is newer. We ordered cinnamon rolls French toast build your breakfast, scramble bowl and kids breakfast with bacon, eggs and pancakes. Food was fresh and hot. I would definitely go back.

Would I say they have the best prime rib around? No. But it is pretty damn satisfying. When here, I always order the Franciscan cut Prime Rib cooked to medium (it's 3/4 pounds), house salad with ranch dressing, and steak fries. They throw in a loaf of sourdough bread with whipped butter. The prime rib is very tender and has plenty of fat. We all know fat equals flavor. The only thing I would change about it, and I keep forgetting to ask the server each time I'm here, is to have it served without the au jus already in the plate. Don't get me wrong. The au jus is fantastic, but when the prime rib is served in a pool of it, the meat becomes soggy. Served separately, I think the prime rib would be even better. In addition to the prime rib, the salad and steak fries are incredibly delicious. The salad is nothing fancy, but very tasty due to the ranch dressing it comes with. Wish I knew the recipe of the dressing. The steak fries pair perfectly with the prime rib. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The only thing I would say is pretty average is the sourdough bread. Although it comes out warm, I don't get the sense that they're freshly baked. The service here is phenomenal. The servers are attentive, polite, and efficient. Can't ask for anything more from them. If you're looking for a trendy spot with contemporary decor and pretentious vibes, this place is not for you. This is an old school steakhouse with red upholstered booths and soft music playing in the background. If you live in the South Bay, and you're looking for a classic prime rib experience, this is a place you should check out.

When I first started coming here, the smallest cut was only $25, which felt like an incredible deal. Prices have gone up over the years, and it's now $37 for the smallest cut, but even with the increase, it's a place I continue to return to because the quality and experience have remained consistently good. I always order the prime rib medium rare with the soup and French fries. The prime rib is consistently delicious, flavorful, and tender, with a rich beefy flavor that really hits the spot. It's cooked just the way I like it, and every visit reminds me why I've been coming back for so many years. The portions are generous, and the meal is satisfying from start to finish. One of the things I appreciate most about this restaurant is its classic atmosphere. The interior feels like a step back in time, with an old-school charm that is becoming harder to find these days. It has the feel of a traditional steakhouse from the 1960s, and the nostalgic vibe adds a lot to the overall dining experience. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy a good meal, and appreciate a piece of local history. There is a parking lot available, which is definitely a plus, although it can be surprisingly easy to miss if you're visiting for the first time. Just keep an eye out as you're approaching the restaurant. While I miss the days when the prime rib was only $25, I understand that prices have gone up everywhere. The fact that I've continued coming here for six years says a lot about how much I enjoy the food and atmosphere. If you've never been and you're a fan of prime rib, this is a spot that's well worth checking out at least once. Chances are you'll find yourself planning a return

The interior is neat and clean. There are various types of seating (bar; table; booth; high-tops; communal), and plenty of screens to watch sports. On this occasion, I ordered the Tavern Fish & Chips ($22). It is described as "Alaskan cod coated in a tempura beer batter and served with French fries, tartar sauce and yuzu herb coleslaw". The positives of this dish are that it was prepared well. Both the fish and chips tasted good. The presentation was also nice; which leads to the coleslaw: The coleslaw tasted good, too; but I was surprised the serving was so spare. It's almost as if it was served just to optically balance the presentation in the basket. (See photo shared,) And while the price was not unreasonable, feel it's creeping towards expensive (relative to serving size). I'll attribute this to rising input costs. Staffing might be an issue during the lunchtime service. Service was okay, but they seemed to be understaffed. It's possible that most of their business is done after 5pm.

We were thrilled to see a few menu options that were marked as vegan. Bonus points for being affordable! I completely missed their attached parking lot when I arrived and ended up parking across the street in the neighborhood, where there was ample free parking. When we arrived, the restaurant was about half full and there was live music occurring on the patio. We opted to sit inside where it was a little less noisy and there was a comfy and cozy booth calling our name. The vibe was great, with fun and eclectic decor. The service was really upbeat and friendly and our server was so kind and helpful. We asked him if the espresso martini had dairy in it (which I just discovered that is a thing at some places) and he double checked with the bartender to ensure there wasn't my dairy in it! I ordered that alongside a falafel wrap I must say, both of these worked so well together. The espresso martini was light and refreshing yet still had a bold flavor. The falafel was nice and crispy with a delectable inside and the tahini sauce was so rich and creamy. The meal felt indulgent yet hearty all at the same time. I left feeling so uplifted and relaxed all at the same time. Despite it being on the noisier side, I was still able to hear my friend well and it was such a great place for us to catch up. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return the next time I'm in the area!

I ordered the pastrami on rye (basically a Reuben) which was good. I wish it had more meat and it was half sliced, half chopped. Theirs seems to be all chopped up and crisped, which gives it a nice texture and almost bacon-y vibe. Messy but good. I had a side salad which was also good. Overall our meal was great and there were TVs visible from anywhere you sat, which is perfect for a sports bar. My big gripe is being charged $1 for pickles to go with a sandwich. Maybe you get more if they put them directly on the sandwich, but they forgot mine so the pickles came in a ramekin. 6 pickle slices for $1.
