Amazing donuts and customer service! The donuts are large and have great taste and texture. We tried the apple fritter, some cronuts (plain and chocolate covered), and a chocolate covered Bavarian cream. The employee working was nice, patient, and very helpful. He helped us with identifying ingredients in the donuts and gave us extra mini donuts with each donut purchase. In addition to donuts they also sell coffee and a variety of teas. I was looking for a donut place since I got to work early, and theres no better way to kill time than by eating sweets. I saw that they had cronuts here, and cronut holes!!! The cronut holes can be filled, with your choice of custard or raspberry jam. I got 2 custard, and 2 raspberry cronut holes. I also got an apple fritter, which is my go to at any donut place, and a ham and cheese croissant. Total was around $8, the ham and cheese croissant was the most, $3, but it was still warm and had obviously just come out of the oven. The rest of their baked goods looked super good as well. The cronut holes were really fresh and flaky. The apple fritter had a great crispy outer layer, and delicious oil soaked goodness inside. Ill be back to try their regular cronuts !! read more

I randomly looked for some pastry shops on Yelp and happened to find this place! I'm super glad it came up bc it was so good!! I have always been on a hunt for a good cronut. I tried the original at Dominique Ansels in NYC but that cronut was just sooooo dense and heavy. The cronuts here at happy donut are WAY better. They're not as heavy so you don't feel as guilty eating them and they don't weigh you down. We tried the glaze and maple. I would say the glaze was better. The maple was good but since the maple was only on the top, the bottom half of the cronut was a little boring. We also tried the cinnamon twist and reg glaze donut. I wasn't super impressed with the regular glaze. If you're looking for an excellent glaze donut, you should try stan's in Santa Clara! But the cinnamon twist here was rly good! I absolutely love this place! My friend and I heard good things but have never tried it. So we decided to make the drive. It is located in a plaza next to Little Lucca, with plenty of parking. There was a line with 4 people ahead of us when we go there, but it went by quickly. We weren't sure what was good to we picked a variety, cronuts with glaze and chocolate, some with jelly and custard filling. It was about $3/pc. When we got to the car, my friend and I quickly dived into the box. I picked the cronut with custard filling and she got the glazed. It was so good! I have been coming here for YEARS, and after I did a clinical rotation just steps away, the older gentleman who was always here came to know me by face and would always throw in some extra cronut holes with my order. The cronut holes are my go-to here - and you can get them filled with custard OR raspberry jam. While the donuts are always fresh, I was disappointed in the service when I came by today to grab three dozen cronut holes on my way to work. Through some misunderstanding the woman working the counter thought I ordered regular donut holes. Because I'M a regular, I questioned how fast she got my order ready because I know they usually don't add filling to the cronut holes until you order...and lo and behold she thought I wanted regular donut holes. Instead of try to fix this, which you think would be easy enough since my order was boxed and I had not touched anything, the woman continued to insist that I said I asked for donut holes when I knew I had come for cronut holes. To avoid any drama I ended up buying an extra TWO DOZEN cronut holes, but it would have been nice to be shown a little more sensitivity over the mix-up and/or appreciation for the extra business they got over it. The woman was totally indifferent about the whole thing. The cronuts will keep me on the hook here, but Happy Donut has lost some of its charm without the OG running things. First time I tried their filled donut holes and the second time I tried their filled cronut holes (!!!!!). BOTH WERE GREAT. Personally I'm a bigger fan of the cronut holes but you can't go wrong with either, really. Both are equally delicious when they're filled with custard. Super affordable but do note it is cash only. This place is a hidden gem tucked away in one of many plazas around the neighborhood. Their cronut is a must try! We got their original cronut, sugar cinnamon cronut, and two sugar donuts. Both cronuts were delicious. Just thinking about them while writing this review makes me drool. Their regular donuts are good too but their cronuts are what makes them different from other places. A combination of around 35hrs with no food and them still being so fresh and tasty I practically inhaled them. The Buttermilk bars are delicious! Crispy outside, soft inside with a hint of Vanilla. I've never had one before but just half of one had me craving more for the days that followed. The one person serving in the store wasn't particularly enthusiastic yet served us quickly and efficiently and as well as Donut's they have a small selection of pastries along with Coffee, cold bottled drinks and cans of Soda. Literally wondering how could I have let this place slip by me all these years I've been active on yelp... Happy Donut is located in Burlingame after you get off the Millbrae exit on the 101. It's located in a plaza so parking isn't a big concern. The only thing you should be concerned about is making sure you have cash in your wallet because this place is cash only. They do have an ATM machine in here, but there might be a small fee to use it so be warned. It honestly doesn't look like much from the outside. It looks like any ol' donut place, but their donuts are so good, omfg. The inside of this place is sort of small. They have 3 2-seater tables and that's it. But there's nothing small about their donut display. Mhmm. They got old fashioned, donut holes, apple fritters, and their most popular item... the cronut. And the best part is that they can add either whip cream or custard in it, too. Their donuts are sinfully delicious. Especially when you eat them as soon as you get them. So soft and moist on the inside. You can't help but get a couple to go when you're here. Their cronuts come in 4 different flavors: chocolate, maple, glazed, and sugar.
