BEST DONUTS ever!!!! This is the only donut shop that I will stay loyal to until the end! I have been coming here for years and I have never had one bad donut here!!! This family is so cute! I have ordered donuts for my sons birthdays for a few years. Cute and yummy donuts at a great price (4 dozen for under $40!). I called a day before and they had it all ready for me. They are cash only. But I saw a girl who didn't have cash...the mom told her to take the donuts and come back later. So cute!! read more

World's Best Apple Fritter! They make them at 7:30 AM normally on weekdays and later on the weekend and I recommend you try them hot. They remember exactly how I like my tea and they always find a large fritter for me, even though I don't go very often. read more

While visiting my daughter and grandkids I thought I would surprise them with some donuts. I'm from Orang County so not sure of the area so did a yelp search. I drove 13 miles (like I said wasn't sure exactly where I was) because the reviews were so good for Happy Donuts. Upon arriving the girl was in a conversation with a man who had just walked in ahead of me and sat down with a coffee HE BROUGHT IN. Apparently I interrupted their conversation because she was short and snippy with me. She said all we have is what you see. As I was looking over the donuts I asked do you have a maple bar...she repeated as if annoyed "we only have what you see here!" (Excuse me I was trying to save time). And she DID have a maple donut just not a maple bar. Then I pointed to the two I wanted for my grandkids and she questioned me again. The last donut I pointed to and said I'll have the sugar donut and she clearly annoyed again correct me saying OKAAAAY a sugar CINNAMON donut. I'm not sure if the man was distracting her. Was he the owner (no). Is he just a creeper (yes). As I sit in my car in front writing this review and more customers come in to purchase something the creeper is now up at the counter smiling and yacking away with her. He walks out smiling ear to ear so she is now able to give the customer her attention. I can tell by the reaction of the customer inside she is basically being treated the same way I was. Maybe it wasn't the distraction of the creeper but that she just does t appreciate her job. So if your in EAST San Jose (now I know) don't bother driving all the way to WEST San Jose. Not worth it for basic donuts. I miss SIDECAR donuts back home! Eastside Costa Mesa! read more

Great Donuts. As I m fan of Krispy Kreme I had not found any donut shop so convincing. So living on Winchester this by far the best Donut shop I have found. The lady is very nice and let's you also make a choice. Infant she offered me a free donut once, so I could try something new! The freshness tells it all. read more

Stopped by on a Friday morning before work and there was a long line. I expected it to take forever but I was in and out in 5 minutes. I had a lost of donuts to get and the lady was super quick and on top of it. When I got to the register, I realized it was cash only and I felt terrible since I had no cash. I asked if there was an ATM and the lady was so sweet, she let me do an IOU. I will totally come back here and had a fantastic experience. Highly recommended! read more

My kids had their cake donut with white frosting and red, white & blue sprinkles (very cute and tasty), and donut holes. I had a coffee too, which was nice. It was a hit for the family! I stopped here at random almost three years ago. I now come in here almost daily. Why? First, the doughs (either regular, old-fashioned, fritter, or croissant) are just right, in terms of texture and sweetness. Second, the glazes are perfect, especially the chocolate. (Go ahead, compare to Safeway -- blechh -- or 7-11 -- ugh; you'll never go back.) Third and most important: they know your name, and remember your preferences, even if you only tell them once. Angie and her husband run the place, but their staff (which sometimes includes their kids) is terrific, too. This is a small-town Midwestern shop in a Western city location. Came into this place to get in out of the rain and was pleasantly surprised. It was like 2 or 3 in the afternoon and I just needed a place to rejuvenate. A really good cup o' Joe & and a Maple Bar, a newspaper and just gearing down was cathartic. I always frequent "Happy Donuts" on 7 Trees Blvd. In San Jose so I was hoping this was just as good.
