Didn't eat my food. I got the shrimp in lobster sauce and the shrimp turned into mush when I put it in my mouth. There was a sour off taste to the entire dish. Why is the Dragon so happy? Ordered an hour before closing so I'm unsure if that played a role in the quality I received tonight. I'm glad to at least know where to not go for Chinese food. 3/10 customer service: didn't receive my food until 10:25pm, they close at 10 so I was unsure if my order would even arrive. I'm glad I called and spoke to the friendly girl answering the phone who informed me it was on its way, because I was about to give up and sleep. Drink arrived warm. No napkins or plastic silverware. 2/10 food: ugh. How does a Chinese restaurant mess up rice? So dry. Over cooked? Under? I can't even tell. Orange chicken is very chewy. Maybe more batter than meat, but perhaps that's my fault ordering at the end of the day. Maybe I got the scraps? Can't even complain about the portion size because you wouldn't want to finish it anyway. Willing to call this a toss up. Maybe better service and quality of food when you dine in? Also, Yelp states there's a $0 delivery fee. My receipt says delivery fee was $3.25. So $17 total for a subpar meal is just.. disappointing. This place is TERRIBLE! After waiting over an hour for my delivery, I called the manager and was told that the delivery driver forgot to deliver my order. He had been driving around with the food in his car for quite a long time. When it finally arrived, it was not what I ordered and it was no longer warm. After several phone calls to a rather cavalier manager, I was offered a refund. But then, when I actually started eating the food, I bit down on a big piece of jagged plastic that was in it! That could have done some real damage had I bitten down on the pointy part, or worse, swallowed it. Now I'm worried about what that piece of hard plastic was and how it got into the food. We got a flyer delivered to us and wanted to try this Chinese restaurant because we missed having sweet and sour chicken. It did not disappoint!!! The food was delicious and the guys were very attentive and friendly. We didn't get our eggs rolls at the start of the meal so they brought out an extra one for us to make up for it. I live close to here so occasionally go for their lunch special. I've always found good customer service and the food is what you would expect for the price. We recently placed a larger order to cater our Lunar New Year party and it was delivered on time. You can customize menu items through their very comprehensive online ordering system. I added black mushrooms to the pork fried rice and it elevated the dish. I also got the Mongolian beef spicy, and the party goers devoured that. Called in an order for pick-up an hour later. Received a call asking if I was going to pick up as it has been waiting for quite some time. After reminding them I was picking up later they assured me that they had called the wrong person and my order just came out. I picked up 2 minutes later. Once again I was assured my order was fresh. The hubs and I stopped by this place last night for a quick dinner. Yikes! We walked in and the dining area was dirty. When the door to the kitchen opened we got to glance at it. We should have turned and walked out right there (especially in this time of covid) but we didn't. One of the young ladies was very friendly and helped up with the menu. The hubs got chicken lo mein and I got general pso chicken. His lo mein wasn't too bad. Mine was horrible. The general pso's was hard little pieces of cold bird and then there was the scoop of steamed rice. I was able to pick up the entire scoop by stabbing it with my fork. Ugggg.... I know what you're thinking. Why didn't I take it back? I didn't take it back because I was afraid someone would spit in the food (the people back they seriously looked rough). We took a couple of bites and fed everything to our dog. Probably the worst Chinese food we ever had. A real disappointment. We both had the spring rolls, and eat them, even though they were not very good. The hot and sour soup tasted only like soy sauce with soup mixed in. The worst was the Lo Mein, it had no flavor, the noodles tastes just nasty. We had chicken and pork and especially the pork was so bad. We've been going here for the last almost six years ( since we moved to town) and unfortunately it has gone downhill. I last ordered two nights ago and my mushroom chicken tasted as if something was rotten about it, the vegetables were also not cooked and the rice was old and completely dry. I thew it in the trash for fear of getting food poisoning. We also got the egg drop soup and it tasted really funky and smelled something awful. Nobody would eat their dinner that night. We ordered for pick up. The order consisted of veggie fried rice, a single order of sesame chicken and some fried dumplings. The dumplings were the only thing I enjoyed. The fried rice did not have much flavor but the biggest complaint was the sesame chicken. It was way over cooked and the more I chewed the chicken would not dissolve. We were excited to try this after a few of our neighbors told us about their pad Thai. Right out of the gates, our summer rolls were completely blown open and the peanut "sauce" was a paste. The cream cheese rangoons were just ok, 70% thick fried wrapper. The hot and sour was awful. It was essentially soy sauce and beef broth, in that order. The pad Thai was just ok. We ordered delivery and thought we would try Chinese since there isn't much good in New Braunfels as far as Chinese Food. NOPE another one down. I ordered orange chicken and it was so dry it hurt my teeth and it was stringy. I don't know if it was just extremely dried out or old but I wouldn't call it fresh that's for sure. My sister had Sweet and Sour chicken and said it was fine and not dry. Panda Express does better which is sad considering they are a fast food chain. I really wanted to support a small business. We drove from San Antonio because we wanted to try something else. It was a bad Friday night date night food wise. We couldn't smell food cooking from the moment we came in and that should have been our warning sign. We ordered our fried dumplings, a triple delight and a beef with mushroom. The only reason we give it a two is because the service was great. But service can only get you so far when the food is bad. The soups that came with our entrees came out fast as expected. My husband got the egg drop and me the wonton. We both weren't fans. Our food came out before the appetizer of the dumplings. The guy said they were busy back there. Mind you we still smelled no food cooking. Our food was not piping hot but you can tell it was reheated. My triple delight had rubber like shrimp and the rolls that came with the meal were frozen ones I can get from H-E-B. My husband and I got our dumplings finally and the poor dumplings...ya they were fried...and then frozen and bought at H-E-B. None of this food had to be cooked there. When the back door opened up you saw no stove. I saw soup pots in a warmer but I did see microwaves. Don't come here. Panda is even better. Maybe if they actually cook the food then we will be back but this was just the frozen food aisle in the grocery store Chinese food edition. read more

We've had Happy Dragon delivered over a dozen times and have had mixed experiences. The sauces are always great without question, however the quality of the chicken and size of the pieces are way out of skew for proper digestion and enjoyment. The chef needs to understand how to cut a chicken breast across the grain and use corn starch to make the mouthfeel softer and more pleasant. And most importantly-slice the chicken pieces so they are smaller and easier to deal with. read more

I hate leaving a bad review but this food was awful the wanton soup was flavorless and the wanton that was in the soup had no texture it just turned to mush it was nasty. The noodles were way over cooked as well and had a ok taste but didn't finish that either. It's no reason I got the flyer at my door step thinking it might be a good idea for dinner turned out to be horrible magic china is way better. They also messed the order up we ordered the Vietnamese pork rolls and got veggie rolls instead which were nasty because they were soggy no crunch. We will not be back read more

Given this place multiple tries because it's one of the few that deliver to my area. However it's been consistently mediocre at best. I'll give it this, portions were generous though. Otherwise it was very basic, with some parts of the order scalding hot, others cold (cold noodles-yum) and the egg rolls were so overly fried and greasy one actually had made holes through the styrofoam container. Ordered: Pork Egg Foo Young, Fired Rice, and Pork Egg Role, the Foo Young was over cooked and bland. The Fried rice was very dry, bland and with very few vegetables or pork. The Egg Rolls were small and flavorless. The gravy for the Foo Young was the corn starch type thick and like snot, and only flavored with Soy Sauce Service was slow, so needless to say I will not be going back.
