What a lovely vegan bowl plus the goat cheese. The combination of buffalo sauce and goat cheese was superb. The healthy ingredients and fresh made bowl was amazing. The cauliflower had a slight crunch and paired with the chickpeas made for an enjoyable afternoon snack.

The food was pretty good with an average sized portion. I enjoyed my egg scramble and smoothie. The ingredients seemed fresh as well! The most offputting thing was that there is a very strong weird smell (possibly mulch?) that was a bit unappetizing. Food took a little while to be ready.

A bit on the pricier side, but worth it for fresh and delicious food! Serving sizes were plenty and well worth it for the perfect healthy treat! I picked up an order to go and the staff was very helpful in providing recommendations. They were quick, kind, and considerate. There was lord of natural light and beautiful colors to make for a bright, warm atmosphere.

Happy and hale is a knock off.. but more expensive sweet green. The sizes are absolutely tiny and the employees refuse to fill the bowl with the proper amount of food. It's a copy cat sweet green down to the color of the bags and the business model. The only reason this place is in business is because they have no competition. The employee, Alex informed me that they are limiting the amount of food put in because of corporate standards... the standards need to be changed in order to justify those prices. See photo to see most of the bowl is air at the top. The only thing they give you normal amounts of is lettuce which I could buy a massive box of for under 7$. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Only reason they get 2 stars is because they really don't have any other competition.

Happy + Hale serves fast & clean salads and smoothies! They have a lot of gluten free and vegan options. Staff were also very friendly! We ordered: Hale Ceaser salad - Surprisingly very good! Loved the Buffalo flavored cauliflower and would get this again :) Bueno bowl - Roasted chicken with brown rice, beans, cheese, vinaigrette Would come back again to try the other bowls and smoothies.

Custom Salad is the way to go - I love places like this that let you customize what you get. Having variety of flavors and textures is what makes a great salad for me and they have a wide variety. Some may say, "but its just a salad". Take a look at the pic - reasonable price and huge portion

If you are a picky Eater get the protein bowl, a really healthy restaurant. But do have to pay 50 cents for water

Stopped by for lunch today. I 'built my own salad' w/ kale, spinach and ahi tuna as the protein. The ingredients taste fresh the salad is scrumptious! Would definitely recommend as a reasonably priced healthy lunch option.

This is a great healthy spot to grab a rice or salad bowl down on Ninth Street in the Bull City near Duke University. This place is like a build your own entree spot BUT they do have some set menu items. I tried the Beyond Bulgogi bowl with no changes or anything. It was pretty tasty! The prices were also very reasonable as well. The only thing I didn't like was that the beyond meatballs were kinda cold and not seasoned. The staff was so friendly! I told them it was my first time and that I was *clears throat* a Yelp ELITE. (You know how we dooooo) The reaction warmed my heart! Their excitement was palpable and I felt like I was part of something special. They have indoor seating but the space is small so I'd call it more of a grab your food and go place.

Avocado toast with egg (radish, red pepper flakes, sprouts)

Great option for quick healthy food in the triangle!! Best Avocado Toast I have had outside of my own home (the bread is crunchy and the ingredients are flavorful). The downside is that happy+hale can be a little more expensive than some other fast casual options. The Buffalo Cauliflower is a little spicy for me, but I don't have a great spice tolerance.

Thai chicken crunch (soy and nuts)

Happy and Hale literally makes me happy. Such a great go-to spot for some unique combination bowls. I got the Med Bowl (D for dairy). The spicy harissa, a Tunisian hot chili pepper paste, mixed with the herb yogurt dressing, really gives an explosive mixture of flavors intermingled with the other veggies in this bowl. At 565 calories [without the dressing], I'm surprised at how filled up my belly was when it seemed so little to me. Much loved. The other was the Thai chicken crunch (S for soy) (N for nuts) had a really nice crunch to each bite, but I didn't think the sesame vinaigrette really complimented it that well. The pickled carrots gave it a good zing while the cashews made the Thai style bowl worthy.

The reviews were glowing, and repeatedly warned about the wait, that my expectations were probably set too high going in. I got the steak and eggs crepe and added avocado, extra steak, and kale. The eggs sit on top, and mine came closer to over-hard than the over-medium I asked for -possibly from sitting in the to-go box for 15 minutes, so I'll give some benefit of the doubt there. The crepe itself was tasty, and honestly I'd come back to try something off the sweets menu. But the fillings didn't land. The steak was a little chewy, and the mushrooms were cut too thick for a crepe -- they made it hard to cut cleanly and felt out of place. The add-ons I'll leave alone since those were my call. Overall the dish felt fairly run-of-the-mill against the hype. One note: this might be a dish better served by not allowing customizations, to keep it consistent to its intent. What threw me is that "steak and eggs" is the menu item, yet they also offer a carne asada crepe with no eggs ...so the only real difference is eggs placed on top, which doesn't change the crepe itself. Felt clear as mud after unboxing my meal. The latte I got was standard. Nothing wrong with it, nothing memorable. TL:DR this read as a solid fallback breakfast more than the must-try the reviews promised. The dogs I saw at the outside tables kept this closer to a 3.5 than falling on the other side of 3.

This new East Durham location is a little smaller than the old one, but they kept the brick aesthetic and the same jazz décor; it has great vibes, but it can get a little noisy with large groups. They now have a small parking lot. The new building has charm, although the surrounding area feels industrial and somewhat run-down. One of the restaurant's windows was boarded up, broken glass had spread into the parking-lot entrance, and barbed wire was visible from our table. The chicken is always tangy and moist. I don't know what they put in the breading, but I'm like a moth to a flame to that stuff. The mac and cheese is some of the best in the Triangle. Our server, Lanyah, was a hustler! While there, she had 9 tables, and one of them was a large group of about 10 people. My wife and I each ordered A Classy Hen with a Baby Blueberry and a Peach Apricot Shmear. I liked the Peach Apricot better. My wife got fresh fruit as her side, which was mostly just orange slices. This, unfortunately, is the end of any positives. Because it was just Lanyah, the service was slow, and it appears from our various times coming to Dame's that slow service is the rule, not the exception. Our server said that it was typical to have just a single server, one cook, and a busser--who was not that helpful. Lanyah was still busing some tables and when there was a loud crash that sounded like dishes falling, she ran and checked on it herself. It took her a minute to get us water and then take our order, but it was understandable. She hugged my wife when we were leaving when we told her she deserved better. The cook was doing their best, but it took 48-minutes and 49 seconds to get our order after it was put in...yes, I timed it. One family walked out due to the long wait. There was another male staff member-I'm not sure whether he was the manager, but he spent most of the evening sitting in the bar area. He was not seating people, bringing out orders or drinks, or helping out our overwhelmed server. They were supposed to close at 7:30pm, but we walked out the door at 8:05pm and the large party was still there waiting for their food, with the other man still sitting in the bar. We want to love Dame's, but slow service just overshadows everything else that is positive. Until they hire an appropriate number of staff, we will not be back.
