What a cool little place to dine! Especially if you have kiddos! I'm an adult and the fascination of seeing small planes take off and land is still high :) This cafe is family owned and sits in a small landing field so you can see small aircraft as you dine. There is also the ability to pay for rides. How cool! Service was great! Staff is so friendly and attentive. Food was also out quick. They also offer gluten free bread! The food is good too! It reminds me of my grandma's cooking. Biscuits you can tell are made from scratch! I got the corned beef hash and eggs with biscuit. It was delicious! Hubs was impressed with his country fried steak as well. We will definitely be back.

This place was a nice surprise and throwback to the diners older generations might remember. This is a family owned diner literally on the side of a private airstrip. Parking lot is relatively large and easy to find at the end of the cul de sac. Walking up, they have some signs pointing out the entrance, which is literally next to airplane hangers. There is plenty of seating inside with large windows facing the runway, where you can see various small craft taking off and landing. There seemed to be regulars mixed in with the multitude of other customers. Service was good and the food was kind of old school. Simple recipes that a working man or woman would enjoy before heading out to work. I ended up with the country fried steak, which includes two eggs your way, breakfast potatoes, and toast. The country fried steak reminded me of old school cooking from the 70s and 80s and definitely brought back some memories. It was entertaining watching the young kid at the table next to us really enjoy his time watching the planes land and take off. Wife was pretty mesmerized with it too...lol. All in, I really enjoyed the experience and food would go back. Maybe next time, I'll go for lunch to try out a burger or sandwich.

Such a cute place located alongside the runway enabling diners to observe the planes while eating. Very clean inside. The food was good and exactly as ordered. So nice when hash browns are served crispy. Unfortunately the service, as noted by others, was incredibly slow. The young man who seated me quickly brought coffee but nobody approached to take my order. I ultimately flagged down a server that was racing by. She was very friendly and kept my coffee filled but I was in my third cup before the food arrived.

Ambiance was great since you sitting at a small airport. The service was good. Waitress nice and on top of things. The food was really really good. The portions are big and everything is fresh. We will definitely visit this hidden gem again!

A flag that immediately announces that many customers won't feel welcome here.

The moment you walk in you are immediately shown a big blue reminder that this is NOT a welcoming atmosphere for all. I would have immediately walked out and patronized someplace else, but I was looking at the vintage bi-plane outside and my wife sat down and already began to order coffee before I walked in. This place must be confident that they can immediately go out of their way to create a politically charged & hostile atmosphere with their decor but I think l that's a crazy way to run a business. No idea why they'd want to go out of they're way to alienate over half the population. Perhaps the owner is a racist and wants to virtue signal that. I'm Hispanic and have had to endure plenty of racist remarks from these types of people, and I got the sense I was not welcome here. Other than that, the food is average and there were flies buzzing all over the inside of the restaurant. Even had one land in the syrup on my pancakes. Gross.

You would not find this place unless someone took you here or told you about it. It's definitely off the beaten track among a group of residential homes -- with small planes in their back yards -- on the edge of a private airport/runway. Drive time it's not that far from Bruce B Downs and wire grass mall. But otherwise, it's in another world and another century. This is the place to come for a southern style breakfast and down home cooking. They serve breakfast all day -- and that's what 5 in our group ordered. One of the kids had a patty melt for lunch. He said it had onions, mushrooms and cheese on a medium cooked burger between slices of grill cooked rye bread. He really liked it. The house made fries were a hit, as well. The breakfast folks had a little of everything -- chocolate pancakes, a cheese omelet, scrambled eggs, hash browns, grits, bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, toast, biscuits, even biscuits and sausage gravy. I had a half order of the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were very good -- light and fluffy. The sausage gravy had nice chunks and was peppery. I had them do the corned beef hash well done and it was quite good, also. Nice to have one not from a can for a change. Our service was fast and friendly. Amenable to all our special requests and drink refills . We overlooked the lack of masks and the big Trump 2020 signs on the wall. If you can handle that, you'll enjoy your food -- whatever you order.

Unexpectedly good! At first I was sure my map was taking me to the wrong place and still walking up to the building i was unsure but as soon as i turned the corner and saw how busy it was i knew it was going to be a good place. Food was absolutely amazing! Best breakfast I've had in a long time. I got the breakfast skillet and it was filling! Definitely on my "come back again... asap" list bonus points for being able to watch planes take off and land!!

This is a hidden gem. Good food, and a supurb view of the small airport runway. The staff was super friendly, and the cook was quick! 10/10

Good people, great food. The $100.00 hamburger is the best. Grits, biscuits, home jam. They got it all.

For my drink, I took the chocolate old fashioned (13 dollars). It was strong enough and chocolatly to enjoy. For my main plate, I chose the chicken wings (10 for 17 dollars), half fat rabbit sauce (quite garlicky) and other half siracha. While the wings were not breaded, they were still fried. It was definitely crispy, but still meaty and tender. The sauces were flavorful, and the siracha had the right amount of heat. The ranch dressing was homemade and so good, I ended up drinking it. There could have been more celery, but it was fresh and crispy. They only had one dessert, and unfortunately it wasn't homemade, so I passed. My bartender was friendly, but busy. She had a helper, but lots of patrons to serve. Yet, she was still very nice and helpful when needed. The vibe is social and casual. I would have thought they would have more USF students, but mostly locals who are enjoying a good atmosphere. Outdoor seating is available as well, and it looks like you can bring your pooch too. When it was time to check out and pay, I noticed they forgot to charge me for my drink. When I mentioned that, they told me not to worry about it. It was a very nice gesture from them. Parking here is easy as it is located in the Publix complex. There is also a Don Julio's and Bundt Cakes nearby for dessert too. The Fat Rabbit pub provides great casual bar food in a social atmosphere. The indoor dining is large enough to feel comfortable, and outdoor seating is also there if you want to enjoy with your dog. I am glad I chose this place again as it was near my hotel. Definitely coming back for more great bar food at reasonable prices. Overall: A

The fries were delish. They were cooked right with a sprinkle of salt. The turkey burger was juicy with the right bread. I should have ordered a second. We also had a pork empanada. I was surprised that the pork was not shredded. Instead it came i chunks but it worked! The meat was flavorful and the dough complimented the meat well. This was my first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. My only gripe was that it's a bit pricey. That being said, I will be eating there again!

Waffle Burger: I had mine without cheese, a unique quirk of mine, the patty was less dense and saltier, a contrast to the quality I'm used to. While the bottom half of the waffle was soggy, fell apart when picking it up, even an air fryer couldn't save it. I eat the rest and it was ok at best, overall was hoping for better. Fries: The fries were ok, nothing too special. Overall I'd give it a 2/5
