I just got Happy Kitchen delivered, and I'm not Happy with this place! (Pun intended) I just moved to the east valley and have been looking for my new go to Chinese restaurant and decided to give them the chance. The delivery came in very quickly. That's why I'm giving 2 stars. The food, though, was unbelievably bland. The Kind Pao Chicken was the worst thing I ordered by far - tasteless sauce and low quality chicken. Chicken Chow Mein tasted like they just sautéed everything together with so sauces or spices. Tasteless noddles and this same rubbery chicken in every dish that was pure white and kind of gristly. Super weird. Fried rice was a 3.4/10, Panda Express rice is wayyyy better. General Tho's chicken was the biggest let down though, the breading was way too thick and soggy, and the sauce had no discernible flavors. It was kind of spicy and salty, but besides that it was just a bland brown sauce. Update: (definitely not 2 stars now) Its now the next day and I've spent most of the day puking or on the toilet. My brother, who had dinner with me last night, had to drive back to CA today and had to stop every few minutes to use a bathroom, or at least puke out his car window on the side of the highway. I've slept for most of the day and have a fever, feel weak, and can't keep anything but water down. For your own safety, never order from this restaurant. read more

Very good Chinese food and they give portions that are very reasonable compared to usual.

We've ordered delivery from Happy Kitchen several times and have been happy with the service and food. Our favorite dish is Honey Walnut Shrimp which could be mixed a bit better but there's never any leftover! Rice is generous, chow mein is flavorful and the spring rolls are good too. Pot stickers were a bit doughy so only got those once but will try them again sometime. Very solid go to for chinese take out! read more

Ordered a bunch of food through Uber eats. One item ordered was the beef broccoli. First bite it tasted a little off, almost like it had been cooked in the same pan as shrimp without having the pan cleaned in between. Few more bites and I determined the beef was bad. Made everyone throw it away. Fast forward about 12 hours and 3 out of 4 people who are the food last night have food poisoning. One so badly that they had to go to the emergency room for dehydration. I've come here maybe five or six times over the last four months. Food is delicious, quick, cheap, and they give you a lot. You can't ask for a better deal. The decor is charming because it's unique. Sorry, but having stereotypical Chinese-esque decor is tacky and even less attractive to me. If you like Asian-inspired decor, go to PF Changs. You can tell this is a family-operated business. I hope they are extremely successful, but that it doesn't change them. The only thing I would suggest for this business is to use less plastic in the take-out containers. Sorry it's a no go back for me! Husband ordered sweet and sour pork which was ok but nothing to write home about. Mine was their chicken special which was a piece of chicken deep fried in a batter then cut into strips served with a bland sauce on the side. Egg rolls were also bland and gooey in the middle. Egg drop soup was just ok. The first thing I noticed was a woman in the kitchen stuffing her mouth with food and she was preparing food. When she saw me watching her she stepped out of sight. The waiter was very nice and noticed I did not like what I ordered and offered to get me something else. Ummmmm NO THANK YOU! Since moving to Mesa, AZ from California we've yet to find a Chinese restaurant as good as the one we frequented before we moved. We decided to take a chance on Happy Kitchen's take out menu through Door Dash. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was delivered on time and still hot. The dish sizes were huge and well worth the price. We found everything tasty and down right delicious. My only criticism was the lack of almond cookies and fortune cookies to round out the meal. We were looking for a Chinese food place around for a quick bite and stopped in last night. We were immeadiately cheerfully greeted and served drinks. The service was amazing! The folks working in the front really love their customers and even delivered an appetizer for us free of charge. The crab rangoons were tasty and perfectly fried with herbs in the cream cheese. My husband had a delicious pork and veggie dish and I had the chicken and vegetables. Everything was crisp and the prices are amazing for the quality and amount of food provided. Great find! We ordered the honey chicken, and the pork lo mien noodles are to die for. The appetizer plate is enough for 2 adults and 2 children. The hot and sour soup is delicious. As everybody else indicated, the cream cheese/crab wontons are excellent. Singapore rice noodles were bland with almost no curry flavor and questionable mushy shrimp. Egg foo young was all wrong -- like many Arizona Chinese restaurants, this one piles the ingredients on top of the fried egg patties instead of chopping them up and properly incorporating them into the egg mixture, and tops them with a translucent brown cornstarch-based sauce instead of the flour-based gravy that good places provide on the side. read more

I know many of us are struggling with our businesses during Covid, but even with that said I am not able to recommend this restaurant. We decided to try a new restaurant since Door Dash does not service our favorite Chinese Restaurant. Happy Kitchen had great reviews so we gave them a try. Three entrees and 2 appetizers later, we barely ate any of what we dished up. Noodles were overdone, rice was underdone and the dishes all tasted terrible. The pork tasted old and the flavors in each entree were lacking. The chicken seemed poor quality and was rubbery. Even after just a few bites, we are now chewing on Tums and hoping we don't get sick. We have eaten in Chinese restaurants across the country and this is the worst we have experienced. Can't figure out why there are so many great reviews. read more

Best fast food Chinese! I go once a week and don't mind making the drive from downtown Mesa because despite the fact it's fast food It compares to flos or singing pandas. Everything taste delicious and the leftovers are great for next day lunch. My favorite is the egg fried rice and sesame chicken with chili oil but I've tried many other dishes and they're all amazing. The plates are family/sharing size. read more
