L. Honey Chicken
Katie A.

We ordered dinner via DoorDash from Happy Kitchen and we were pleasantly impressed with how good our chicken was! I got orange kitchen and we also got honey chicken - the servings were large enough we could easily get two meals out of them! I thought both dishes were very flavorful, and the orange and honey chicken weren't too sweet! I would only suggest a few more veggies with the orange chicken next time! Our food came hot, fast and we would definitely order or eat at Happy Kitchen again!

Spectacular! The shrimp was plump and juicy! Cooked to perfection, I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp! I love peanuts and it definitely did NOT leave me lacking! Their peanuts aren't those cheap half sized peanuts, they're the good fat, yummy, fresh peanuts - it's the little things that make all the difference! I got a drink to go. The fried rice didn't have any veggies in it, but my Kung Pao Shrimp was the ABSOLUTE BEST I've had in a while! Full of veggies AND water chestnuts too! What do people have against water chestnuts these days?? Usually they're soo small, you can't even see them! Don't you just love when you get those rough cut vegetables that didn't come out of a can??? The sauce was tasty and glistening, honestly - I could've just jumped right in there - it was gooooooodddddd!!! Egg roll, on point. Sweet and Sour sauce was thin, but flavorful and didn't seem like it would congeal into a jello! There's plenty of space and cute booths to enjoy with friends, and a good sized tv in case to need to catch up on sports lol (it was Sunday) Diner style booths, very comfortable! It was a very quiet, I prefer some noise honestly, so I asked the girl to turn on the tv. Just look at these shrimp!!! Omgeeee, give me more!!! I think I'm in love with this place! There's plenty of seating and I love that you can hear the people in the background cooking, the stirring of the wok and all the beautiful sounds from the kitchen. I'm FOR SURE coming back for more things in the menu when I have more room in my stomach!

Very good food. Plenty to eat. Food came out fast and hot. Our server was wonderful and kind. And the prices are very affordable.

This was way too much food for me, but I wanted all of these items. My waitress was really helpful and told me that next time I could get the same thing in smaller portions. The sauce was too sweet, tangy, and thick- almost like it had too much cornstarch in it.

First time ordering, the rest of our food was great but I ordered the Pan fried noodles with beef and there were no noodles.

My favorite place to get Chinese food that's close by. They are fast and friendly and I love their egg rolls.

This is the closest place I can find to east coast Chinese. I know that sounds weird but it's true.

Below average, nothing is fresh. Frozen veggies and canned mushrooms. I've had better, but then again I've had worse.

This place is a gem!…read more Our problem is that each dish is better than the next. We think we know what we want to order when we walk in. But, we'll see something new on the menue, and it then becomes our new favorite. ANYthing we order has been outstanding. The service is very friendly and very helpful. They are very accomodating. The atmosphere is not fancy, but it is clean. While eating there, I always say. "I can't wait to come back." Just writing this review is making me yearn to eat there now, and I just ate there two days ago. If you have a favorite Asian restaurant that is different from Old Town Taste, I challenge you to try this restaurant. I am confident it will become your new favorite. Parking was a breeze and seating was spacious. I like the interior a lot and the service was quite good (seeing that it was only one person taking down the orders and cleaning! very fast for that). For the food, we ordered chicken fried rice, fragrance tender beef, fish-flavored eggplant, boiled fish with pickled cabbage, and dry fried green beans. All of these dishes were yummy, in particular, my parents love the boiled fish with pickled cabbage and fragrance tender beef. I do think there is solid sichuan spice flavor. This is a great place to get Chinese food in Arizona :) **something to note, there might be a heightened salty flavor in some dishes so be wary haha We always visit!

For years I have driven 25 minutes for takeout and never regretted it. High decor -No, limited selections -No, quiet -No, great food -Absolutely, incredibly friendly and pleasant staff -100%. Our typical order is a large General Chicken with extra sauce and Malaysian fun chow. The general chicken is perfectly breaded, deliciously flavored, slight bite and an uncious taste making you want more. The Malaysian fun chow has wok fried wide rice noodles with a hint of char, shrimp, bean sprouts, onions, veggies and a light but savory taste. Another home run! Don't let the exterior or inside decor persuade your judgement. Hands down the staff is second to none and the food is fabulous. Asian Cafe Express is an incredible value for the food quality and portion size. Trust me, if you give them a shot, you will also be ordering here for years. To the staff, fabulous job and thanks!

A Mesa Asian District Gem Worth Seeking Out…read more Asian Cafe Express is a lovely strip mall gem near H-Mart in Mesa's Asian District, and after 21 years in business, it clearly has a loyal following for good reason. We brought in a fresh lobster from H-Mart to try their "bring your own seafood" cooking option and chose the garlic onion stir fry preparation. It's $14.99 for anything under 2 lbs and $7.50/lbs for anything over. It came out excellent, served over crispy egg noodles with classic Asian flavors and plenty of wok-fired goodness. We also enjoyed the Peking pork ribs, which were deboned, tasty, and slightly sweet; the stir-fried green beans, which were fresh and well prepared; and the garlic spicy chicken wings, which were especially flavorful and highly recommended. The red bean drinks were traditional and satisfying, with soft, nicely soaked mung beans and no milk. Service was friendly, efficient, and personal, handled by a couple of ladies who clearly know the restaurant and their customers well. While we were there, plenty of regulars came in for takeout and several tables were happily dining in. Overall, we really enjoyed Asian Cafe Express and were surprised we had not stopped in sooner. Highly recommend, especially for the "bring your own seafood" cooking option and the garlic spicy wings. We will definitely be back.

Ordered the pork and chives dumplings, XLB, and Beef chow fun. Service was expedient and waters were already preset on the table. Chow fun had the wok hay ( wok air that makes food taste good) and thick slices of velveted beef slices. Pork and chive dumpling and XLB were juicy and moist and delicious with the ginger black vinegar chili oil sauce. I really like the food here and staff moves fast. Great place for a quick lunch.

It fades, so the dipping sauce was nice to have with it. The Xiao Long Bao were the winners of thee meal and would be why I go back. Easy to eat and tasty. I only wish the soup inside was a bit hotter. The Chicken Sheng Jian Bao was good, but the breading a little thicker than I personally like. This felt more like a dessert with the sesame bottom. Good taste, just heavy. Felt like we were rushed a bit and we're asked several times if we were done. There were empty tables, so that knocked it from the higher 3.5 side to the lower. Yelp is a flat star rating.

It may be a smaller, family-owned spot, but the heart, passion, and consistency here are unmatched. Hands down, the best dim sum I've had in Arizona. We were seated right away because the restaurant was pretty empty except for one other table. The place is small and the chairs we sat in were sticky. The server was nice and attentive. I'm not sure if we just chose the wrong dim sum to order in the menu but it wasn't what I expected. First bite of chicken feet tasted off. The shumai was meaty and felt too much in one bite so I only ate one. The rest was mediocre. We did order two main dishes as well but we thought the main dishes were a lot better than the dim sums we ordered. If I had to rate the food.
