I enjoy Happy Panda, mainly for the nostalgia- I grew up going here and so I am a little sentimental about it. The food is solid - not the best Chinese food I've ever had, but it satisfies that craving for me. Their lunch specials are unbeatable and for dinner, we always order the fried rice. It's odd that there's bean sprouts in it and you have to request egg. I love the BBQ pork so I always get a side and choose that as the protein for the fried rice. We went there with 8 people and next to the front door was a poor person overdosing! He had obviously been there for A WHILE looking at his belongings all around. How did the restaurant not know he was there? We called 911 because he was blue and not responding. Here is my issue! We had 3 young kids, when the worker came out she was rude when asked if they had narcan! Having personal experience with overdose, I am aware that in this epidemic restaurants are strongly advised to have narcan! It quickly became a very sad scary scene as I am not sure if this man survived. Because of their unawareness of a man doing drugs right outside the door, laying in the ground for what had to be awhile as he was very very blue, I hope they feel bad and are more aware of what goes on right in front of their establishment! read more

I would like to say we been coming for about 20 years and I want to say food is good. My favorite is zeshuan shrimp it has been for 20 years. the staff is friendly. I would love to give 5 stars but they really got to do an upgrade on remodeling make it more modern get rid of little extra stuff, and front door got to be replaced and more welcoming clean too. Also I like they added the table cloths but get plain white no more designs so it don't look to overwhelming. But I still love this place and I will still drive 45 minutes to eat here. read more

This was a surprise! it was Christmas eve and the wife and I were shopping and wanted a quick bite. My wife said some do Chinese take out as a tradition on Christmas eve. I scoffed at this... Boy was I wrong... We were able to get seated, as it was filling fast. Happy Panda used to be reliably good enough. However, since the ownership change a year to two back, it has been very inconsistent on food quality. We judge Chinese food starting from the Hot and Sour Soup, and yesterday's offering was awful. It was dark brown (not as we're used to), and smelled nasty, something like a mix of burnt coffee and cigarette smoke. I had to cap the takeout container before tossing it, to avoid the nasty smell permeating our kitchen. The fried wontons were more plentiful than we're used to, but very plain and not nicely crisped. The entrees were just ok, more or less as usual recently, which is not as fresh and robust as they were a few years back. About time for us to find a new regular Chinese takeout. read more

Went there for lunch. Usually it's about 5 to 10 min wait and food is right out. This time we had been waiting 20 to 25 min (only two other customers in restaurant) there were three employees at the front counter chatting with another person not sure if it was a customer. When the server saw I was standing, she asked if she could help. I asked, do you know how much longer it's going to be because I am on lunch. She said oh I gave that order to them a few minutes ago, eventhough she had took our order almost half hour earlier. She said they should be working on it. She called herself going to check, we had 4 meals ordered. She came out with one of them. Went back and amost immediately came out with the rest. The plates seemed to have been sitting there. Not only was it brought to us late, the chicken in our Genral Tsao seemed like it was fried the day before or days ago. We were very disappointed as we usualy enjoy going there. read more

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for 20 years, and I have a lot of great memories having Sunday dinners here. I'm not sure if they have a different management in the last two years or so but the food quality has definitely gone down tremendously and the recipes just don't taste the same. I usually don't like leaving reviews that are not good but this place is honestly a hard pass from now on. The food looks great, but it tastes like your local grocery stores deli Chinese food. The food does not taste fresh it taste like it's been sitting under a warming lamp for hours, almost like if you're going to a cheap buffet that has a little bit of everything and nothing is "specialized". Portions were good and food was still piping hot when I got it home. - Hot & Sour soup and spring rolls were good. - Beef Street Noodles - This was good, but XX-Spicy isn't very spicy. I can't imagine there's much spice at all to the X or Regular spicy levels. If you like spicy you should probably go with the XXX-Spicy. I know I will next time. - General Tso's Chicken - The sauce was a little overly sweet than I'm used to and reminded me more of Orange Chicken, but the chunks of chicken were big and tasty. I'm not fond of leaving poor reviews about businesses, but the food was so bad (it tasted rancid) that I felt compelled to share our experience so others can avoid experiencing similar disappointment. This was, without a doubt, the single worst meal I've ever experienced my life. We spit out the few bites we took and threw the meal in the garbage. They say pictures are worth a thousand words, and so I took a picture of the Orange Beef we ordered. As you can see, the beef was actually grey in color! If you think that looks and sounds appetizing, be grateful that you did not eat this meal. It was disgusting. I thought long and hard about whether I should write this review or not, but felt that if I'd read a diner having an experience similar to our own I would avoid eating at this restaurant, which is exactly what you should do. read more

I've eaten here since pre Covid and it's always been kinda dumpy. Not saying don't eat here I have but I definitely am not shocked by the food violations yelp has posted. One time during Covid we had them deliver & they brought a cockroach in with the food. We waited over 2 yrs to try it again but only in person cause we didn't want them bringing bugs to our house. I honestly can't say I'll miss this place when I move it's edible but just barely. The staff is friendly but again in no real hurry to do anything. I've seen questionable food safety myself & I really only go cause my family member likes it. I only eat the pork & white rice and get the hot tea. I can't really speak for much but their chicken & pork that's in breading is always incredibly grisly & fatty. It's not exactly worth the $. The eatery itself looks dated & like the way they keep making money is by simply not reinvesting it into the business at all. It could use a major overhaul & I hadn't seen the one guy who used to work here prior to covid. They do deliver and are quick but it's your call. This was my family and I first time ever eating here while visiting Oregon. The food was super delicious and the staff was super friendly. We ordered the bbq pork as an appetizer which we were not aware it is cooked and served cold. They ended up heating it up for us. We also got the Panda Deluxe Fried Rice, Panda Deluxe Chow Mein, Orange Peel Chicken, and Beef with Broccoli. Disgusting!! I ordered the chicken and broccoli which was to be ONLY WHITE meat chicken breast. I guess I should have specified I did not want WHITE MEAT CHICKEN FAT! I didn't eat a piece of meat as it was all covered in fat. I'm not even sure my dog will eat it. My husband got kung pow chicken and it was the same nasty chicken but his was misty all water chestnuts. This was a complete waste of $30 bucks! Don't make the same mistake!
