I have tried H.P. A few times over the years hoping they would get better or the off chance that I caught them on a off day. Well, they have consistently provided me with what I would call poor Chinese food. Just last week we ordered Kung Pao chicken and Mongolian beef. Both appeared to have the same corn starch thickened sauce. Neither was spicy or flavorful. Frankly, I could have done better at home and I'm the furtherest thing from Chinese decent. My wife and I tease that there slogan is "everything tastes the same, you like Kung Pao, you'll like Mongolian beef, you like beef broccoli, you'll like sichuan beef. For me Chinese food is about two things 1) savory sauces 2) savory sauces and Happy panda fails miserably. read more

This place sucks. My hubby ordered the Cashew Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork and the pork fried rice. The only thing that tasted like it was supposed to was the white rice. This place was the absolute WORST chinese food place we have ever had in our lives. The cashew chicken had canned veggies in it and the sauce had no flavor. It tasted like a canned chow mein that you buy at the grocery store. The sweet and sour pork had so much breading that the menu should have called this "sweet and sour deep fried batter." The pork fried rice was basically white rice with a bit of soy sauce, a tiny bit of egg and no pork or veggies in it. I really don't know how people give this place more than 2 stars, as the food is terrible, especially considering the high price. We will NEVER eat here again and will NEVER recommend it to anyone including our enemies. read more

I live just down the street from the Tigard location and had never been until tonight. I will definitely go back . I had the Pepper Chicken and Chow Mein and they were both delicious! Everything was hot and fresh and the servings were generous. The staff was very pleasant, with one coming over to my table to ask how everything was. Unusual for a semi fast food restaurant, but it impressed me. One more positive note; I was pleasantly surprised that my meal was only $6.00. A real bargain in my opinion. read more

I ordered the Kung Pao chicken lunch combo, with a side of won tongs and the egg flower soup. The won tongs were awesome but other than that the food was pretty average. And I didn't care for the soup at all. However, they delivered quickly and their prices are very reasonable. read more

Never again will i stop at Happy Panda. This was my first and last time. I ordered shrimp Pha thai to go. The sauce was thick and sicking sweet. If my eyes were closed. I could not have guess what i was eating. To make matters worse when i got near the bottom it was some other noodle dish with chopped chicken. I am absolutely disappointed in how they handled the food delivery. I was working and a few coworkers of mine decided that Chinese food sounded good so we decided to get happy panda delivered to us. (We should have checked the reviews before deciding on happy panda. It would have saved us a lot of trouble). We ordered our found around 11:15am (we were told the food would arrive around 12:30) and didn't receive it until around 1:10. It was almost 40 minutes late!We opened the bag and realized they had not given us any utensils, napkins, or the receipt. We called the store and they told us they didn't have a manager on hand for us to speak to so they would have to call us back. When they called back they said they were going to send the delivery guy to bring the receipt. In all it was not a good experience the food was 40 minutes late, did not taste good, we didn't have any utensils to eat with, and when we called to complain they were not helpful in any way. Have never had a bad meal here. The service is usually pretty good as well. Their speed at cooking is unreal! We have had the sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, bbq pork fried rice and mongolian beef. All were great-all white meat chicken and the beef is soooooooo tender. The bbq pork fried rice has a nice liquid smoke flavor and the pork is tender. If you can't handle spice in the mongolian sauce, just ask for no chili peppers. I enjoy the hot and sour soup as well. So sad :( Happy Panda USED TO BE great!!!! Had been getting great food and wonderful service there since 1989! The long time wait staff even knew my grandparents and would ask about how my family was doing after their passing. Truly a caring group of people! Noticed some minor changes a couple years ago, but expanding the menu didn't seem to change the quality and wait staff stayed and remained friendly. Boy has everything changed over the last year! Started off with just the spring rolls and chicken being bought pre-fried. That hugely changed the quality and sucked. Now they graduated to everything sucks and is bland! staff is new and while they seem helpful and friendly enough you know the long time customers complain about the food a lot because all they can say is that their manager won't accept the feedback, says it is a waste of time to make their spring rolls, and if customers don't like them they should order something else. Got news for you "new manager"...I will be doing just that...ordering something else from other restaurants. So, sad that this great place has taken such a disastrous turn!!!! read more

I ran out the door this morning to catch the train to a somewhat distant job site (for me) and left my tasty bag lunch on the kitchen counter. About 3 pm, my stomach alarm went off. Feeling a little smug that I had a fine money-saving AND tasty lunch while the others ate Subway and such, I felt pretty silly when I realized where my lunch resided. I knew Jimmy John's would be a fail (and indeed even though nearby, they don't deliver to this location), so I stumbled around and found Happy Panda. Their website online and the menu are very organized and easy to follow. The man who took my order and the other who delivered the food were very polite., friendly, and efficient. I had the won-ton soup, which was delicious and tasted healthy. Ahhhhhhhh, the hunger alarm weakened in intensity. I also ordered enough fried rice to share with the members of my team, and they were quite, quite happy to partake. So while I'm a failure sometimes at remembering to take my lunch where I should, Happy Panda won the three gold stars today for being organized and on time to help out the hungry. I would definitely order from them again, and I think I would like to visit the restaurant to get a full look at a restaurant that produces pretty solid and healthy-tasting Chinese dishes. Been coming here for 20+ years.. Always quick service, good hot and sour, barbecued pork, and rice. Excellent sesame chicken. We always get the same thing, and were always satisfied. Couple that with coupons from the local rags and you can't go wrong. read more

I don't make it to Oregon near as often as I used to but come here every time I'm in town. After 20 years, the food is still great as is the service. The General Tso chicken is big hunks of white meat as opposed to small pieces that are less than the breading at other restaurants. As them to spice it up and be ready for a taste treat. read more

Just had their food for the first time, had it delivered. It took an hour to get it to me, I live 2 minutes away. Then the huge disappointment. The food had no taste and it looked like crap. And the food is pretty pricey. I wished I would've ate in because I would not have paid for this meal. Im not a huge fan of panda express but it's much better than happy panda. I used to come here for lunch all the time when I worked down the road. Fast service, great General Tso's chicken. Nice portion size. Went back tonight for some take-out for me and the wife. I love their website...easy to navigate....pictures of everything. I decided to call in my order, though, because I had some questions. They answered on the first ring, took my order, read it back to me, and told me my total. They said it would be 20 minutes (Friday night). I showed up 30 minutes later and it wasn't quite ready, but, ok...it was ready within three to four minutes. The place was packed and there were five employees at the front on the phone, on the register, seating people, bringing take-out from the kitchen. Everyone was working efficiently. My order was 100% correct. The food was HOT when I got home, even though it was 35 degrees outside. My wife got the Szechuan Chinese Egg Plant (Crispy and Tender Fried Egg Plants and Broccoli Sauteed in Szechuan Sauce), and I have to say, it was one of the tastiest dishes I've ever had....it was fantastic. read more

I ordered Happy Panda after seeing their delivery car twice in one day! My husband and I recently moved to the area so a delivery option was very enticing for us. They delivered our food quickly and we both thought it was reasonably priced. It wasn't the BEST Chinese food I've ever had, but it was definitely good and I'd order it again. We got the kung pao chicken, egg fried rice, and hot and sour soup. The soup was amazing. The kung pao chicken was totally different than I'm used to-it wasn't spicy, and color wise it wasn't the rich color that it usually is. But it was good! Definitely a great delivery option!! The egg fried rice didn't have any vegetables, which I thought was different, but it was still good! We will be ordering again soon! read more

The fried pot stickers are the best pot stickers I've had in a long time! If you go to this restaurant it is a must to order them. No dark meat? Let's get one thing straight here. White meat and Chinese dishes don't mix. In fact, white meat has no place in any Asian dishes. i will probably never eat from happy panda again. Their website was nice, but their service wasn't. i ordered delivery and when it finally arrived an hour and a half later i was very disappointed, their egg drop soup was bland and very much like plain canned chicken broth. when the driver got here he looked at me expecting some wonderful tip, and when i did tip him he looked reluctant and walked away. the food was not good especially for the price and i would much rather eat somewhere that wants my business. read more

The online menu is great, the service was fine, the delivery was good too. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre! It is so full of veggies and lack protein, the flavor is very bland and everything started to taste like the same dish. I ask for extra spicy Kung Pao chicken, wasn't spicy at all and found cashews and only five pieces of chicken, same for the broccoli beef, mushroom chicken, happy panda delight all entrees was over run with the same vegetables. The only good thing was the BBQ pork except the sweet and sour sauce had no taste and hot mustard was a package and not homemade. Overall for the portions and flavor it's overpriced and i'd rather eat Panda express and be slightly satisfied. read more
