far right plate: 8 pieces of sushi combo for $28 and it doesn't come with miso soup, or salad. Not worth it
    Lishya H.

Thank you for the attentive and nice service! They renovated the whole place and it's clean and simple, a nice ambiance, however it's lacking of some decorations on the wall. It feels empty. The food itself, I'd give 3.5 stars. The quality is good, but it's not the greatest with their pricing specially with the sushi combo and sashimi order. I ordered albacore onion sashimi and it's $18 for 5 pieces only. My husband ordered the sushi combo for $28 and it doesn't even come with miso soup and salad. Definitely such a rip off. Hopefully they survive, especially in this kind of economy. I'd put my money somewhere else where it's more worth it.

Salmon bento (with seaweed salad and shrimp tempura) -- quality salmon all around! Would definitely order again.

We ordered the special sashimi plates -- Salmon Truffle and Bluefin Toro -- along with the baked salmon collar and salmon bento, and enjoyed every dish! The salmon sashimi and sushi were incredibly fresh, buttery, and practically melted in my mouth. The cuts were perfectly sized, and you could really taste the quality. The Bluefin Toro sashimi plate also came with crunchy fried onions on the side, rolling them in with the  sashimi elevated the texture and flavor adding a really nice crunch. I also liked that the salmon bento came with seaweed salad and shrimp tempura, which made it feel very complete. The baked salmon collar was cooked perfectly -- warm, flaky, and full of flavor. I've been to most of the Japanese sushi spots around the Chino Hills area, and this place definitely has the best salmon quality I've had so far. I also love that they offer blue crab options -- that's definitely going to be part of my next order here! There's a great variety on the menu, making it perfect for friends or couples with different tastes. The owners, chefs, and staff were all very kind and welcoming as well. The ambiance is spacious and comfortable -- hoping to see this hidden gem get the attention it deserves soon

This place has pretty good sushi. I'd come back again. The place was pretty empty during the week.

I dined in during the soft opening week. This restaurant replaced the Ichikawa shabu fondue & sushi after 16 years. Ordered: California Roll Shrimp Tempura with dipping sauce It was quick and easy meal for me. I paid $23.70 for 2 items. It is little pricey. Ambiance is nice, clean and spacious. Friendly staff. If you love sushi, come check it out.

Came here to support this new local sushi restaurant. They have big parking lot share with other businesses so easy parking. When I entered, greeted by friendly server and got seated right away. Interior decoration was very modern and the tables and chairs look high end. I can imagine how much effort they put into this place. They are still soft opening so menu does not have any pictures and still adjusting it. I was surprised to see their prices are very affordable. I ordered various items for tasting and the freshness of the fish was stood out to me. I ordered toro which was recommended and it was very good. I also tried uni, they had Hokkaido uni and Santa Barbara uni so I got one each. I like Santa Barbara better. Salmon collar comes in big portion, I have never seen this quantity in sushi restaurant per order. Overall experience was great. Great food, good service and clean restaurant. I can see myself coming here again. Highly recommended

I really wanted to like this place because the staff was nice, according to my boyfriend who picked up our order, and I like to support new businesses but unfortunately they fell short. Ordered three rolls on the second day after opening, Two two were OK - sun-kissed roll and amigo roll. I wouldn't order either again, though. Also got the crunchy cooked tuna roll and was BAD. It was made with CANNED tuna. Legit dry canned tuna. I've never seen canned tuna used! For $18 I could've bought a case of canned tuna. Felt like a major rip off. My boyfriend couldn't eat it. I forced myself to eat a few pieces but the rest went in the trash. Maybe they didn't receive their fish shipment and subbed it out for the can option? I can't fathom any other reason they'd used canned tuna. I'm giving two stars because of the friendly staff and they were generous with extra sauce, but I don't think I'll visit again. I'll be worried I'm going to get canned fish instead of fresh options.

Brand new sushi in a strip of other businesses in a warm and spacious suite. The weight staff was helpful and we're friendly. The sushi was fresh and filling, but not stuffed with rice. The sashimi was fresh and delicious. The sea scallops are a must!

This place is brand new. They open 2 weeks ago. I've seen people post this place on our local FB group place. So here we are trying it out. Place is very clean, bright open space, the bathrooms are clean and brand new. You walk in you are greeted with a friendly smile and you look passed her you can see the sushi chef preparing sushi. We met the owner Sue and she told us that one of the sushi chef is her husband. She has been working and setting up this place for over a year. On with the food. We started with appetizers and ordered assorted tempura and baked mussels. The tempura was light and crunchy. The mussels was really fresh and good. We also ordered firecracker rolls, and Palm Springs rolls. They had the right amount of rice, not too much that you can't put it in your mouth. The firecracker room was perfectly spicy and very good flavor. The Palm Springs rolls were different. The combination of the salmon, avocado soy wrapper and sweet chili sauce was an excellent mixed. We also ordered the Sushi combo (3) that came with tuna, salmon, albacore, yellowtail and miso soup. The albacore was my favorite on this dish. They all tasted very fresh. Also ordered uni. The uni was excellent. I love uni so it's critical that it's fresh, sweet and creamy. I also got the sweet shrimp that was raw and they deep fried the head. The shrimp was larger than the other places that carry them, it was sweet. The heads was fried just right that it was crunchy and you can still enjoy the head meat.butter. And lastly was the toro. It was an actual toro and I loved it. You will noticed that I used the word fresh a lot when describing my food. The food was very fresh, excellent, good quality and tasty. We had too much to eat that we didn't even get dessert but they have a lot of dessert option. We will definitely be back again.

We sat at the sushi bar and met Chef Alan, who together with Chef Leo, served us the freshest seafood they procured. On a Saturday night (beginning of their 3rd week of opening) both chefs were busy working non-stop the whole time, but they still took the time to enquire about us and our needs. Su and Zin addressed us by names and looked after us as well. The menu contains non-sushi items too, such as tonkatsu curry and ramen. It is definitely a family-friendly restaurant that can cater to a variety of appetites.

I came to try this Happy Sushi place in Chino hills area. They were having their Soft opening. As soon as I entered this restaurant, it was very clean and neat from the floor to walls. The dinning room area is spacious and good for groups of family or friends. Booths and standard chairs were both comfortable to sit down while eating sushi. They also had a sushi bar where customers can enjoy socializing with sushi chefs and other customers. Sushi bar was beautifully decorated with flowers and clean/modern countertop. I had sushi rolls that were made fresh by the chefs. Quality of fish was fresh and sashimi had clean taste with clean smell. Chicken katsu had tender meat inside and crispy breading outside with great seasonings. My favorite dish that stood out was Salmon Collar. Salmon was rich, buttery, and juicy with slightly sweet flavor from freshness of the fish. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Great teamwork with positive attitude was observed. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owners of this new restaurant. They were both welcoming and generous to all the customers. They provided friendly hospitality to the customers. So, If you are ever in Chino Hills area, this sushi restaurant is a must visit because they offer fresh seafood, relaxing environment for dinning, and definitely a happy place to enjoy sushi. Highly recommended!

Hello ^.^ Second time visiting Happy sushi in chino hill right across from hobby lobby ^.^ Omgosh I found my new obsession!! The poki bowl it come with salmon and masado eggs lol I hope I spell that right with ginger and seaweed salad. I replaced my ginger with fried onions ^.^ Rice was soaked with ponzu sauce. The salmon it melted in your mouth. Super duper flavorful! Pretty reasonable price 15 for the bowl. So refreshing on a hot day then the two piece nigiri roll Seared roll. It's the first one. I forgot how to spell it but so tender and fresh love it! Ugh if it wasn't for adult responsibility. lol I would be going daily for the dishes

Spicy tuna and salmon truffle hand roll
    Kait C.

The sushi here was pretty good and for a fair price I would say. The service was great and they even gave us a coupon for our next visit. I really liked the spicy tuna hand roll but for some reason the seaweed was a bit on the chewier/stretchier side than what I imagine. But the flavor was fantastic overall. The salmon truffle one was strong and the truffle flavor was indeed there. If you don't like truffle that much I would recommend not getting that one. But I think overall it was very delicious.

    Alisa F.

Delicious, fresh and large portions. The salmon truffle sashimi was amazing! Staff extremely attentive and friendly, restaurant very clea
