Tasty skewers with northern Chinese cuisine style! Their spicy hot pot was quite spicy so it's definitely for spicy food lovers! Our party of 2 ordered it and asked for mild and their staff kindly reminded us that it would still be quite spicy and she was right :). Great flavours and varieties from their menu other than the hot pot - they have signature lamb skewers, beef, wings, and more. These skewers were cooked in the open kitchen and served right away to the table once ready!

My girlfriend and I have drove pass this interesting Chinese bbq place many time, we finally decided to give it a try and we were impressed! The interior really gives a Chinese vibe that brings me back to the little town I was born in, all the tables and chairs are wooden, finished with a glossy feel. We usually love to sit together when we dine out, the tables were big enough for us to do that! My favorite dish was the Special Lamb kebabs, topped and marinated with tremendous seasonings. Most of the kebabs have a minimum of 5 skewer, there're also smaller bite size ones that starts with 10. I really like how the price is not too expensive if you're not planning to order too much. We were able to try out a lot of dishes by only ordering 2-5 skewers of each. Overall, this restaurant is worth lining up for, it gets very busy when dinner time hits, if you'd like to try it out, do it after they open at 4:30. :)

Potato yam chips are crunchy & delightful! They have a bit of honey on them - it's appetizing and a healthy snack to munch on. Their screwers are good except for the prawn skewer - although it looks big, it's actually not! Service is friendly & fast! Ambiance is unique, asian vibes, casual yet simple~

I love coming here. I always come here when I come to Vancouver. You get to choose different kinds of skewers that range from meat to vegetables. They also have assorted skewers in a hot pot. I would try that while you're there! Since this place opens late, it's a good spot for a late night snack.

A busy Chinese restaurant that specializes in an assortment of skewers. The skewers are well cooked and crispy, and even the ones that I was hesitant about trying were still delicious. There are other noodle and rice options so you don't overload on meat. Food There are a variety of meats that you can get on skewers, as is the focus of this restaurant. The meats are cooked so that the outside is nice and crispy and not burned. Not the juiciest bites since they are small and bite size. Well seasoned and not too salty. The meats for my table came out in 2 platters in about 15 minutes after ordering. Handmade noodles in bone broth was a good balance to all the meat. Not too salty and the noodles were really good! Mung bean noodles with cucumbers was something my friend wanted to order and it was pretty good. It is slightly spicy. Cucumbers were fresh and spicy as well. Very good vegetable to have with all the meat. Eggplants were really good. By far my favorite dish that we got that was not meat. Atmosphere Casual and kind of feels like a night hang out spot to get beers and food at. The restaurant was pretty loud and the seats that we got were not comfortable. Pricing This was my first time having skewers in a restaurant like this so hard to say relative to other skewer places (Seattle does not have many). I felt like the food and experience were worth it though. Service  Service was ok but not the best. Only time we saw them was when they came to deliver food and we were along the window and wall so it was hard to wave anyone down. Other Parking lot is shared with other popular restaurants so it's hard to find a spot.

The quality of BBQ at this place has really gone down since I last visited before COVID. I feel like the meat tastes undercooked and soggy, almost like its been boiled before finishing off on the grill. Also worth mentioning is that this place has a minimum $50 charge before credit cards are allowed.

We were looking for a place to eat at 12am after a long flight, and saw many people dining here. We could see the food through the window and it looked delicious so we sat down. There are many options on the menu and we opted for the pork, steak and fried tofu. Each stick was perfectly seasoned and the tofu was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We were very happy with our meal.

I came here for dinner recently. The restaurant had a nice chill atmosphere and service was quick. In terms of food, I tried the Original Lamb Kebab, Special Lamb Kebab, XL Lamb Kebab, Ox Tongue, Chicken Heart, Pork Hock, Ox Throat, and Eggplant. The Original and Special Lamb Kebabs had nice pieces of lamb with decent flavour. I think the Special one could be better if it's more spicy. The XL Lamb Kebab stood out the most as it was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The Pork Hock was also similar as it was nicely grilled on the outside with good flavour and tender on the inside. The Ox Tongue and Chicken Heart were both pretty good. The Ox Throat were okay at best. As for the Eggplant, some pieces were really good but others were dry/overcooked.

We decided to have our 2020 NYE dinner and a Birthday party combined here this evening. Our girlfriends who have been here in the last said it would be a good experience so we decided to come here. Let's start from the very beginning....we made a reservation so that was great! Considering how full it was, we were so glad we did this. Now, parking....this was a nightmare. We waited quite a bit at the front of the restaurant, where parking is available for customers who visit the shops/restaurants. We didn't realize there was parking specifically for the restaurant towards the rear, so when we did, we were happy but boy did we wait for a while! It was pouring so we were hesitant to go and find parking elsewhere. The food was okay. I think the best thing we're the vegetable sides we ordered, I.e. garlic chives and enoki mushrooms. The lamb skewers were my second favourite followed by the chicken skewers. Everything was nice and flavourful. We ordered a cod fish dish but unfortunately, this wasn't the best dish of the night. It was an expensive dish and we were told by a friend who works in the fishing industry that it wasn't cod, rather Dover Sole. For someone who eats fish regularly, I was also inclined to believe it wasn't cod. We asked the waiter, who came back to confirm it was cod. We tried to convince them it was but they never really came around to our table again. We probably could've taken a bit to have it tested but we decided not to go through the trouble. Service was slow; restaurant was packed; and food was okay. If you ever plan going here, don't order a fish dish unless you're desperate to eat it right away. I'd suggest buying and cooking your own; that was it's not only cheaper but you know exactly what you're eating.

I'm surprised by the low reviews for this place. I had a great late night experience here. You'll have to try and flag down the waiters but service wasn't bad. Order: -special lamb skewer and pork skewer: these 2 were more tender and flavourful -cucumber: refreshing with the skewers Okay: -preserved egg and tofu -lamb skewer Pass: -Hand pulled noodles with bone broth: noodles were a little over cooked -fried Chinese donuts: too hard and was unexpectedly sweet. Reminds me of a fried bun that goes with condensed milk -chicken skin skewer: weirdly overcooked and undercooked

First of all, ten of us got seated at the tiniest table that was so uncomfortable to sit at. They really need to figure out how to seat bigger parties. Oh yeah, and they were BLASTING some talent show which had mandarin pop, rap and rock just blaring. It was so hard to hear! Service also totally sucked, delivering wrong orders and people standing around while we wanted our bills and our tea pot back that got snatched away. The menu is a little overwhelming. I barely glanced and let others order for us. We are an adventurous group so strange meat didn't deter us from ordering it. Ox throat, pork intestine, chicken gizzards. Oh my! They tasted okay. Very Organy. We also ordered regular meat.. lamb, beef and pork skewers which were all delicious! The seasoning/rub is delicious! I recommend the meat for sure! Organs if you're into that are okay and not a bad way to experiment with new textures and flavours. Some things were pretty spicy which I truly enjoyed! Outside of barbecued meat: Skip on the corn. It was mushy. Get the buns on skewers! It was literally bao sliced and grilled and those were awesome. Fish balls were yummy in a nice spicy sauce. Cucumber dish - refreshing and cooling. Perfect to balance the spicy meat and really good sauce. We got the giant order of fish and tofu (I think it was cod?) and it was pretty tasty but nothing amazing. You'll probably want to order a bowl of rice. Interesting experience. Food was just alright, seating was not that pleasant and customer service not great. Don't expect much!

Best Chinese BBQ place ever! Great services from all the friendly servers and staffs. All the dishes we've order were cook to order and freshly made. Beer was tasty too. Will definitely revisit again.

She wanted to go to Kirin. Plenty of parking in the mall. Hostess greeted and seated us promptly. Restaurant was busy but not crazy. This was at 10am on a Thursday. Waiters were attentive. Usual table service was in place. Took our order and food came out at acceptable pace. When we were done, they politely boxed up the leftovers and we paid our bill. So service was on point. The food we ordered came out hot. The staples that I order to test was hargow, suimai and pai gwut(spareribs). All 3 dishes in general were good.....the hargow could have used an extra minute or 2 in the steamer. The suimai was very good. I tasted every ingredient in this dish. Usually it is just a complete mix and you can't discern the different flavors. They tried something different with the cheongfun by adding pieces of Chinese donut to the roll. I personally think it didn't add much to the dish, taste or texture wise. I did like the pea shoots with shrimp. I think it is a good combo. All in all a good dimsum. I also noticed they did not charge us a tea service. The cost of the food is comparable with other restaurants at this level. Yes come on a date or impress business clients/boss or family celebrations.

On a typical Sunday evening, the restaurant is usually fully occupied, but my friend had thoughtfully made a reservation a week in advance, so our table for five was ready upon arrival. As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, with good airflow thanks to the wide-open front entrance facing the parkade. The front desk receptionist greeted us cordially, and we were escorted to a cozy table in a comfortable location -- not too close to the washrooms, which I appreciated. Our meal began with the Kirin Special Assorted Cold Appetizer, followed by Crab Meat, Dried Scallops, and Fish Maw Soup. The soup arrived piping hot and was delicious, with a generous portion that could easily have served eight people. We also enjoyed Pea Tips Braised with Bean Curd and Assorted Mushrooms in Consommé, Marinated Free-Range Crispy Skin Chicken, Fillet of Cod Sautéed with Seasonal Vegetables, and Live Crab in Consommé with Ginger and Green Onion, served with E-fu Noodles. Overall, the quality and taste of every entrée were excellent. Service was top-notch -- tea and hot water were refilled constantly, bones and used plates were replaced promptly, and the servers were friendly and engaging throughout the evening. My friend and his family have apparently been regulars at this location for over two decades, which likely contributed to the exceptional attentiveness we received. However, one aspect of the experience genuinely disturbed me. All servers, including the captains, continued to wear masks at all times. While this practice was understandable two years ago, now -- five years after the onset of the pandemic, with COVID-19 managed similarly to other seasonal respiratory illnesses -- the continued universal masking in a fine-dining environment feels unnecessary and detracts from the overall guest experience. Fine dining, in my view as an avid foodie, is built on human connection, hospitality, and personal interaction. Masks create a more impersonal, almost clinical atmosphere. In a well-ventilated space like this, the environmental risk does not seem to justify the visual and social trade-off. Rather than providing reassurance, the persistent masking may unintentionally signal that the environment is unsafe or that management is out of step with current provincial health guidelines, where masking is now a personal choice rather than a mandate. Final verdict: Food & Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 -- as the current aesthetic feels more like a relic of 2020 than a leader in 2026 hospitality.

We made a reservation on OpenTable (which is a rare platform to use among Chinese restaurants in Greater Vancouver). We were seated a few minutes after arrival. The space feels energetic. It's a more modern restaurant, so there is much color and younger vibrancy than a traditional Chinese restaurant. What else is different? No round tables - only smaller square tables - which means it's better designed for small groups rather than large groups. We ended up trying a number of items: - Beef Belly Skewers: Very good. Everyone loved them. I wished we had ordered more. - Chicken Skewers: Ok. I think asked for something but they ran out and gave us gizzards and hearts, which are never good because they become mealy and not enjoyable to eat. - Dungeness Crab with Salty Egg Yolk: Good. Prepared as well as lots of restaurants. They provide disposable gloves to eat with, but nothing to crack the shells. - Stir Fried Vegetables: Good. No complaints. - Fresh Fish with Tofu Hot Pot: Very good. - Fresh Fish Steamed: Very good. - Lobster with Sticky Rice: Very good. Service is really very good. Genuinely more friendly and talkative than I'm accustomed too, but I appreciated. Overall, a good meal. It was different in that the decor and service is what really stood out, and that's the difference maker compared to most other Chinese restaurants with the same quality of food. That being said, you pay for it too. I definitely enjoyed it, but it better suited for a small groups rather than large ones.

The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The rice roll was honestly perfect. Super smooth, delicate texture, great balance of beef and shrimp, and seasoned exactly how it should be. I genuinely cannot think of anything they could have done better with it. It tasted just like what you would expect from a proper Cantonese spot. The Hong Kong style milk tea was hot and strong. Definitely more on the bold side, so if you like that deep tea flavor, you will love it. It paired really well with the rice rolls. Service was fast and everyone was very friendly, which made the experience even better. This is one of those places you come to when you want something authentic, comforting, and done right. I would absolutely come back and order the same thing again.
