It's a great little restaurant with plenty of seating; however, we decided to order take out. I really liked that they had certain items that were cooked to order. We ordered a Combo 3. We got half rice and half Chow Mein with Char Siu, Pork Ribs (an extra $1 for this item), and Beef Broccoli. We also ordered Chicken Chow Mein, which was cooked to order. I guess I was expecting it to taste better after reading all of the fabulous reviews on yelp. I enjoyed the Beef Broccoli the most. Everything was okay, but I was a little disappointed to be honest. The portion sizes were huge, and we had plenty of leftovers. The next day, my husband added lots of veggies and shredded chicken to the Chow Mein, and it was much better. I will try this restaurant out again when I'm craving Chinese food. Hopefully, I will enjoy it more next time.

I ordered a soup-based rice noodle dish that day. It was okay, the texture was more like regular noodles and not quite like the Southeast Asian-style thin rice noodles, I was familiar with. Then last Sunday, with the weather being so hot, I started thinking maybe their dry rice noodle would be a better choice. I looked through the menu, but some of the ingredient combinations were unfamiliar to me, so I decided to play it safe and ordered the crispy pork and beef dry rice noodle. It turned out to be a good choice. The portion was generous, a big bowl that even came with two small quail eggs. And a small bowl of chicken broth on the side. $12.99 When my order was ready, I picked it up and was guided to the sauce bar, where I could customize the flavor myself with hot sauce, soy sauce, chopped green onions, cilantro, and even dry peanuts ... etc. The DIY sauce bar was a fun touch, and the dry rice noodle gave me a completely different experience from my first visit. In the end, I enjoyed my lunch and took some leftovers home.

This location requested 10 extra minutes to setup. After perusing its adjacent market, I returned. Cr8zy Bao (West Covina) was ready for business at 9:25AM. Staff is courteous and professional. Staff (name on receipt - Yaya) is helpful and hardworking. Yaya answered all my questions, and Yaya moved quickly. I ordered the King Steamed Meat Bao ($9.14 - 3pc) and 10 Won Bread ($5). The food was ready in 14 minutes and 54 seconds. The 10 Won Bread has three filling choices: mozzarella cheese, custard, or red bean. I selected the custard filling. The 10 Won Bread had a thin, crisp, and crunchy outer crust; its similar to a finely toasted waffle. Its inner layer is very soft and spongey. Breaking apart this toasted pastry, hot & gooey custard cream bursts forward. I enjoyed the sensation and mild-sweetness of this sticky, flowing liquid. The King Steamed Meat Bao also tasted freshly made. It avoids being dry; rather, its bun is supple, buoyant, and springy. Its filling tastes fresh and slightly savory. Its mashed meat and diced glass noodles add a pleasant bounce. Although the filling lacked any memorable taste, I appreciated how the filling wasn't salty. The King Steamed Meat Bao's filling reminded me of freshly mashed meatball. Regarding ambiance, it's nonexistent at Cr8zy Bao (West Covina). The location is a food stand in a market. Thankfully, its counters and floors are clean. Also, I felt safe since a security guard is stationed by the entrance. Fortunately, there's plenty of indoor and outdoor tables to use since it's connected to the Haven City Market. Bright, bubbly music appeared around 10AM; however, it was silent prior. Overall, Cr8zy Bao (West Covina) is a good experience. If you like baos and dumplings, this location is a solid choice. It has since changed ownership and become a Sichuan restaurant, which I was very interested in trying. The interior design hasn't changed much from the former Lu's Garden. The dishes we tried were quite authentic Sichuan style. We ordered the Home Style Pork Feet with Lima Beans ($18.99). The pork feet were very tender and flavorful, and the lima beans added a nice texture. The soup was especially delicious, and the dipping sauce reminded me of what I used to have in Chengdu when I was young. The Twice-Cooked Pork ($16.99) was excellent! the pork wasn't too fatty and was very flavorful, especially with the green peppers. The Chengdu Pork Blood Cubes in Red Pepper Broth ($21.99) were also very good. (I believe the English name may not be accurately translated.) The Sauteed Winter Melon with Chicken Fat ($13.99) was great as well. Overall, Sichuan Sizzling really exceeded my expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and authenticity of the Sichuan-style food. We were satisfied with the fast service as well, and the prices are fair. I will definitely visit again to try other specialty dishes like Fresh Frog in Rattan Pepper Broth with Ginger Sauce and Leatherjacket Fish. I'm really glad to have another authentic Sichuan cuisine restaurant in Rowland Heights area.
