Food quality is average. The takeout box seeks a bit smaller than the typical box. Although they do fill their combo boxes well, the portion size seems average overall given the box size. Regardless it's Chinese fast food. Two item combo was 10.95 this time around.

    1 item plate w egg roll =$5.60.

Fast Chinese food, cheap, greasy, gets to the point. Not the most refined place to hit up for lunch but a plate of food + a freshly fried egg roll for $5+change is hard to beat, especially being located in metro la county area - this is a genre of food that panda express has for the most part put out of business in the past decade, so when I see one still dishing it out like it's the 90s I gotta give props where it's due. My plate was huge, may opt for the sub $5 chicken bowl next time, but for certain I will be back. 4 stars

Combo C :) Super Tasty. The mushroom chicken is really savory. Orange chicken has a good sweetness to it. definitely coming back here again.Would give 3.5 if there was that option, it wasn't bad but not amazing. Egg rolls were mushy but the deep fried shrimp was crunchy and yummy.

Happy Wok is the go-to place if you're craving Chinese food and don't want to make your wallet cry! The food is always fresh, and they serve big portions you can share with others or, if you're a broke student like me, split into 2 meals. My favorite is the beef and broccoli because it tastes likes my childhood! The seasoning is not too salty or starchy, and the broccoli has a good crunch to it (i.e. not soggy). And the BBQ pork is the perfect combo of sweet and savory. The value for the food can't be beat!

This place Rocks..!! and it's Tasty..!! I was hungry while waiting next door to have my eye exam and decided to stop in to quiet my stomach. Wow...so much food for a good price.. The BBQ Pork was juicy and had a nice flavor reminding me of my childhood. I really like how the chow mein and fried rice tasted with my meal...I was sure full after this plate. Will definitely come back..!!..and now time for a nap..!!

This store has been in this community since I was a kid. My family said it has over 30 years history. I highly recommend the Chinese food here, delicious, reasonable priced and large portions. My family and I love coming here.

Think made-to-order elevated food court Chinese-ISH-style dishes. SERVICE: when we first walked in, the guy bussing tables onto his cart made eye contact, then COMPLETELY IGNORED US despite it being obvious that we were there for dinner. off-putting, i ALMOST WALKED OUT :/ Once we chased someone down and got seated, our waiter was super FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. Food came out quickly and piping hot. FOOD: PORTIONS-what stands out is the HUGE PORTIONS, one plate could probably feed to and perhaps three moderate eaters. QUALITY-unusually and OVERWHELMINGLY OILY. Way more than I would've expected, and detracted from the eating experience. **Cheese WonTon-wrappers were FRIED CRISP AND TENDER, but the decent dollop of cream cheese filling was overwhelming. **KUNG POW CHICKEN was the BEST DISH we had, barely spicy but it hid the oiliness better somehow. **NOODLE (?chow fun) SHRIMP was difficult to eat, and the EXCESSIVE GREASE COATED MY TONGUE so bad the i couldn't taste the shrimp or veggies. **BLACK BEAN BEEF was fair. OILY BUT FLAVORFUL. veggies were nicely cooked still crunchy, but the HARSH ONIONS were overpowering. sweet or milder onions would let me taste the other ingredients more. the beef itself was tender and tasty. I personally won't be returning, but I see the value due to large portions and moderate prices. i'd gladly sacrifice quantity for higher quality.

The demeanor of both our server and the owner was noticeably cold and unwelcoming throughout our visit. We were simply there to order food to go and expected the same basic courtesy and respect that any paying customer should receive. What really stood out to me was what happened when I was paying. As I was handing over my credit card, the owner snatched the card out of my hand, and then also snatched the charge slip from my hand. I found the manner in which this was done extremely rude, unnecessary, and disrespectful. As a Black customer, I have unfortunately experienced situations where I have questioned whether the treatment I received was influenced by my race. I cannot say for certain what motivated the behavior we experienced at Golden Palace, but I can say that the way we were treated left us feeling uncomfortable, unwelcome, and disrespected. We don't expect special treatment. We expect basic courtesy, professionalism, and respect when we spend our hard-earned money at a business. I am sharing this review because customer service matters. No customer should leave a restaurant feeling like their presence was an inconvenience. Based on this experience, we will not be returning. .

When you arrive, be sure to write your party size on the sign-in sheet to secure your spot--there often isn't staff at the door to assist, so you'll need to manage it yourself. We visited after a long day and only had to wait about 30 minutes. Overall, the food was pretty average--or "mid," as the kids say--and I didn't feel it lived up to the hype. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered: * #26 Shanghai Style Chow Mein ($13.99): This was the standout. The noodles are thick, almost udon-style, and it's great comfort food. I would definitely come back just for this dish. * #1 XLB Juicy Pork Dumplings ($9.99): These were just okay. Not bad, but not great, and I'd likely choose somewhere else for dumplings next time. * #16 Spicy Wontons with Pork and Shrimp ($11.99): These didn't "wow" me, though I did enjoy the chili oil. I might order these again. * #62 French Style Beef Tenderloin ($17.99): The meat was very soft, but I've had better versions elsewhere, so this will be a skip for me in the future. * #83 House Special Fish Fillet ($15.99): It was very crispy with flaky fish, but the batter was quite heavy. It was enjoyable at first, but I got tired of it quickly. While the Shanghai Style Chow Mein is worth a revisit, nothing else stood out enough to make this a regular spot for us. It's a 3.5/5 experience, but I probably won't be back anytime soon.
