Finally got the chance to check out this spot! They offer different variety of baked goods, drinks, & snacks. The staff is really friendly, so that is always a plus! It's such a cute spot! It's right next to one of my favorite Filipino restaurants, Hong Ning. I got a Manila latte & ensaymada. The Manila latte was perfect for me. I usually like stronger coffee and I felt like it did its job. The ensaymada was delicious! Unfortunately, I ate first before my camera did so I didn't get to take a picture. My friend was even raving about it. Wanted to get more stuff but before I went overboard, I stopped myself to avoid getting too much. This means I will definitely have to be back again to try the other items they have!

This is a small hidden spot that may not be as hidden as I thought. Yes, it's hidden behind a coffee chain, but the amount of people that came in made it seem like it was a bigger coffee chain. LASA offers a variety of drinks, baked goods, and snacks. I had the ube latte which was perfectly balanced. It was just right for me. I had the coffee taste with Ube and just enough sweetness. I have to come back to try some pastries!

Ordered the strawberry matcha latte and the ube panna cotta. The drink was decent. I feel I tasted more of the milk and the strawberry purée than the matcha. Let's talk about the highlight of the show; ube panna cotta. If you haven't tried their ube panna cotta, you are definitely missing out. It has a perfect balance of creamy thick coconut with the ube.

We tried a variety of their baked items and they were all great! They he service was friendly and the owner May and her crew made sure that we felt welcome. A he place is cozy and they have seating for small groups or couples. It is simply and beautifully decorated with Philippine-made frames and artwork on the walls. We hey also have a couple of shelves with Filipino snack items. We had just come from their neighbor Hong Ning and we were full so we did not get any of their drinks. We will to go back to get other items on their menu that we did not get to try. We are willing to make the 1-hour drive from home to do this and we look forward to our next visit! It is worth it!

It is hard to come across a Filipino cafe in the suburbs, so upon hearing about LASA Filipino Cafe, I was excited to check it out with my parents. It is owned by the Hong Ning restaurant (next door). The space itself is a bit on the smaller side, but has a vibrant yet cozy feel to it. There is traditional Filipino decor on the walls, and the dark green walls themselves help add to the homey feel. The girls working the counter were very nice, answering any questions we had. I would say there are about four or five small tables available for sitting, as well as a sofa pushed against one wall. We decided to try a bit of everything and ordered ube pandesal, bibingkinitan (mini bibingka rice cakes), and pan de siosa. I personally do not eat ube, but my parents said the ube pandesal was just okay - pretty standard. The best way to describe pan de siosa is as if pandesal and ensaimada had a baby. Unlike traditional ensaimada that is made with a brioche base, pan de siosa has the buttercream and cheese topping placed on a more heartier bread dough. It was quite yummy; it definitely added an elevated layer of texture to the baked good. However, the favorite of the day was the bibingkinitan. We ordered the 4 piece for $8.95 special. There are quite a few sweet and savory flavors to choose from. We opted for the turon and ube macapuno. Both were absolutely delicious! I would go back just for the turon one. I am knocking off two stars because of two reasons. One was that we were a bit underwhelmed with our drinks (ube latte and strawberry matcha). The second reason is that their bathroom was absolutely filthy.

    Iced Strawberry Matcha - Large

Had an iced strawberry matcha to go and it was fast and so yummy! I got a large and I drank it all in like 40 minutes. The matcha and the strawberries were so vibrant and pretty. I think they use good quality matcha and real blended strawberries but it was so yum!! I posted it on my snap story and everyone asked me where it was because it looked too delicious One thing is that I think they put too much strawberry, and it overpowered the matcha a lot and was too sweet. Next time I'll ask for less, because I think it'd taste better. Can't wait to come back and get strawberry matcha again and try ube matcha!!

The owner was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers. We ordered a dragon fruit refresher, a mocha coffee, a lemon fruit pastry, and the Dubai chocolate cheesecake--and everything was amazing. The drinks were fresh and flavorful, and the desserts were on another level. The Dubai chocolate cheesecake especially was rich, unique, and seriously one of the best desserts I've had. Overall, this place checks every box: great vibes, great service, and incredible food and drinks. Definitely coming back again soon. Highly recommend!

Even if there was confusion on my end, I still feel like the situation could've been handled better. Customer service goes a long way, especially for returning customers.

They have a decently sized seating area, and in the warmer months, there's a patio to sit outside. It can get a bit loud inside during the weekends and peak hours, so not ideal if you prefer quieter environments to do work. I had the pick two, which was a half a sandwich (grilled cheese) with a half salad (kale Caesar). The salad was so good! Fresh, crisp and lightly dressed. However, the grilled cheese was pretty sad. I opened it up and there was hardly any cheese. It was just like eating two pieces of grilled bread. They need to improve on that for sure. I also had their 12oz wildflower latte which was very tasty, but served lukewarm and not hot. If the milk is not steamed, it will bring down the temperature of the coffee. I like my specialty coffees served hot. I do have to say every staff member we came in contact with was friendly. They seemed happy and were there to help and answer questions. You place your order at the counter, and you receive a number which you display at your table. There are two dining areas with tables and a few booths to dine at next to where you place your order. Members of the staff bring your order to the table. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food. Even with the sad grilled cheese sandwich which was disappointing and the lukewarm latte, I would definitely go back to Blackberry Market again to try other items on their menu. I'll pass on the grilled cheese, though.

The building looks like it was converted from a church, and the back seating area has some high stained glass windows. In the middle of the cafe is a narrow hallway/corridor where the supply closet and the single stall bathroom is, so it segments the cafe into two areas, connected by this hallway in the center. The design feels very clearly like a remnant of an old historic building, and a brick alleyway runs along one side. In the space/room where you order (walking through the seating area and through the hallway), it opens up with huge windows and a huge industrial coffee grinder on full display. There's another counter to order, with a few pastry options, and along another side wall, a rack of F&H clothes for purchase and the drink menus. (The aesthetic reminded me of Blue Bottle.) I ordered an iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte with oak milk and it was good! I couldn't taste any whiskey at all, and when I ordered the barista had mentioned this (cooked off so you wouldn't taste it) so it was a decent vanilla latte. I'll give them props for a really cool unique flavor. We all grabbed our drinks and headed (back through the hallway) into the other room with the seating area. There is a small section with a couch, otherwise lots of tables and chairs and I was glad it wasn't too crowded so we were able to grab a table. This was a great spot to grab coffee and meet up with friends. It's in a neat little downtown area in Wheaton, and they offer creative coffee drinks, with beans and merch to purchase.

Cozy without trying too hard, friendly without being fake, and full of that comforting breakfast chaos that somehow makes coffee taste better. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and somewhere between the first bite and the shamefully aggressive scraping of the plate, I experienced personal growth. These weren't sad, cafeteria biscuits fighting for survival under mystery gravy. No. These biscuits showed up with confidence. Fluffy, buttery little clouds carrying gravy so rich and comforting it could probably talk me through my taxes and unresolved childhood issues. By bite three, I was mentally canceling my responsibilities and considering forwarding my mail to Glenn Oak. The dangerous part? I looked around and realized everyone else seemed equally possessed by whatever culinary wizardry is happening in that kitchen. Suddenly ordering one thing felt irresponsible.
