This is a great casual spot right on the marina with a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful water views. The food was really good, the cocktails were just as enjoyable, and the service was warm and friendly. Perfect place to unwind and enjoy the scenery with a drink in hand.

I'm calling this review "Come Monday". Why you ask? Because I came here on a Monday afternoon. We weren't expecting to see much of a crowd but when we were brought onto the deck, the outdoor bar was full and lively. There are some high top tables so we grabbed one along with some drinks (a landshark in case you were wondering. See, "Come Monday" makes even more sense now, huh)... Our server, Shaliq, was incredible, making sure we were well taken care of. And the food was awesome. The shrimp nachos were very tasty and the lobster roll was exactly what I hoped for with plenty of meat (at a very reasonable price).

I end up at the Harbor Crab every so often. Every time I've been there it has been a good experience. I am usually there late afternoon/early evening on a Friday for some reason. This time we got clams on the half shell, fish and chips, and the scampi that had shrimp and scallops. Everything was delicious, especially the scampi. Our server was wonderful and we got to sit outside on the deck. It wasn't the warmest night but it was enjoyable. The bathroom was clean, just as the rest of the place. I will continue to go back and would recommend you do the same.

On the water in Patchogue, LI, this place has something for everyone in a casual, albeit dated, setting. Food was very good as one would expect, and they have specials every night. With a great bar overlooking the marina and ample outdoor seating it will become a favorite when visiting friends and family in LI. At a later seating on a Tuesday I ordered the mariscada and it was ok. It didn't have enough rice to absorb/complement the gravy in the stew to MY taste. My wife ordered the lobster roll said it tasted good with perhaps a bit too much onion. We returned the next day a bit earlier in the evening with my son and his spouse and was told the crab cake and hamburger sandwiches were very tasty. I will say the French fries they serve were just about perfect and can tell they used fresh oil both nights.

I have been here a few times and always have a good experience. Came in on a Saturday around 3:30 for a late lunch. There were a few tables with people eating inside. There is also an outside seating area near the parking lot. I have also sat at a table that is on the dock. There is an inside bar as well as an outside bar that is right on the water. Today I had the oyster poboy. It came out real quick because there were not many people there. It came with fries and a pickle. It definitely was a little messy because it was so full hit I enjoyed it.

Came here for restaurant week. The service was good. Our waitress was so friendly. The restaurant is near a dock so on a nice day it would have a great view. Most of everything we ordered was delicious. For the price we were surprised by the amount of food given. I got the coconut shrimp and the shrimps were jumbo. The sauce that it came with was delicious. Hubby got the tuna wonton which was probably our favorite thing. I got the shrimp and clam del chef and it was delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The clams had no sand luckily. Hubbys lobster roll wasn't that great. It was super salty and the lobster seemed overcooked. The fries were good though. We were so full that we had to take the dessert together. Hub loved the chocolate cheesecake but my chocolate peanut butter pie was overly sweet.

Was REALLY looking forward to coming back here for restaurant week and waited an entire year to return. We waited a while in the front for our table to be ready. Waited a while for our server to appear. Food was only ok this year. Nothing like how it blew us away last year. I ordered the Kona Scallops again because it was one of my favorite dishes last time. Not this time. It was not good. My husband ordered the strip steak, which was extremely veiny and chewy, along with a bad baked potato. The only thing that saved the meal was dessert.

Went here for restaurant week. The restaurant was not busy. Waitress was very attentive and took our orders. We went with prix fix menu. I had baked clams, meh. Very bready not very clammy. My husband had the lobster bisque and enjoyed it. We both ordered broiled lobster. Meh. It came with potatoes that needed to be thrown out a week ago and water logged corn on the cob. For dessert my husband had rice pudding(wall paper paste) and I had pecan bourbon tart, it was ok. Doubt we come back. The view was nice.

We went to Harbor Crab last night after seeing their Long Island restaurant week add. A solid 5 +++++ experience! Highly, Highly recommended. HC is way under rated on Yelp. HC is now my new favorite waterfront seafood restaurant on Long Island. We walked in cold off the street at peek dinner time on a Sunday without a reservation. Not always a good idea! As soon as we walked in, We were greeted by a friendly and professional hostess who quickly jumped into immediate action and hustled to get us the best water view table open. What a great first impression of the staff. We felt like celebrities walking into a trendy spot in Manhattan as they hustled to seat us. A+ on the hostess staff! The decor is kind of "Jimmy Buffet" casual with a bamboo and nautical displays throughout. There are two separate bar areas, an upstairs dining area, a main floor dining area, a main bar area and outside dining. The main bar area is surrounded by opening glass bar windows and glass overhead doors that open on warm days. You can see the water from almost every angle. The bar is very comfortable and there are a number of big screen TVs. A cool place to watch the big games. As soon as we were seated at our waterfront table our server came over, introduced herself, and gave us a quick rundown of HC's menu and took our drink orders. Our server was Iris, big shout out to Iris! She was great and walked us through the menu and specials. She also made some great pro recommendations. Our server Iris, was excellent she not only helped make our dining experience a 5+++ but she helped make us future repeat customers. Our positive experience with the staff and service is a reflection of a well run establishment. Good job team HC. For apps we had oysters on the half shell and oysters casino. The half shell oysters were large, plump fresh flavorful local oysters. The ousters casino were also quite good and unique. For mains we had the lobster Harbor Feast and the Restaurant week lobster and crab special. Both were delicious and huge portions! Our server Iris walked us through sauce selections, a big help! On the lobster Harbor feast we had the white wine and garlic sauce. This dish came with a whole steamed lobster, tons of muscles, clams, shrimp, potatoes and an ear of corn. The restaurant week special was a 1/2 steamed lobster, Snow crab cluster, dungene crab, shrimp, potatoes and corn. Both dished were delicious and huge portions. Both lobsters were delicious soft shell lobsters with perfect lobster meat. Everything was perfect! We will be back! Highly recommend Harbor Crab. One comment, HC might be a good spot for a private party due to the layout with different dining rooms and separate bars.

    Baked clams

We went two weekends in a row which wasn't planned. The first time was so good we had to go back. The first time we got the fried calamari, baked clams and I got a burger and fries and my husband got the soft shell crab. The food was excellent especially the fries. Legit the best fries I've ever had. The second time we instead of the baked clams we got the crab cake and ordered all the other items again. The crab cake was amazing. Highly recommend

We called up at 7:45 pm and asked if they could take us alan 8:25 pm on a Saturday night on the summer and they said yes. Went here to have a nice seafood dinner by the water. I wanted to sit outside but my cousin thought it was too humid for her so we went to the 2nd floor to overlook the boats There were several interesting items at our table- coconut fried shrimp app (a little too oily), grilled salmon with broccoli rabe and squash and yellow rice - delicious - I had them out trying we teriyaki in the side - I'm glad I did because that was spicy. Someone else ordered fra diavolo with seafood (seafood was good but the very specific part was all the way at the bottoms of the bow tie pasta; salad suitors grilled chicken (good- she doesn't like seafood so this was a good option)and flounder stuffed with crab- which was just ok (a little too much breading in the crab mix The waiter was very attentive so that was good. they saw sometimes have bands and daily specials as well. Ig is set on the Patchogue river.Nice views floor sure!

    Secret Menu June 2023
    Laura C.

Good food, some with large portions. Plenty of seating areas inside at a table or at the bar or outside on the deck. Great place for large groups. It was raining so we stayed inside. The waitress, Mimi? Checked on us often and had no problem answering our 240 questions. There's a "secret" menu but its really not a secret, it's the seafood menu that prices change often so it is printed separately which is a great idea. You can't go wrong with any of the crab leg meals and I recommend that you share them because there's plenty on the plate. Chicken Ceasars salad needed more chicken, it had an overload of croutons. Ahi tuna plate had a huge amount of pink ginger on it, would have preferred more veggies and less ginger. Rainbow cake was dry, Smores brownie dessert was moist with a deep chocolate flavor. Definitely will be back when the sun is shining. They do impose the charge card fee. Make reservations to ensure you're accommodated when the weather is nice. Private parking lot, handicapped accessible.

On top of that, my damn car decided to up and die, so I've been bleeding money on Ubers just to get to and from work. I even had to go into work on my day off just to sit around waiting for the tow truck so they could junk it. Love that for me. After I handled business with the junkers, I said eff it and headed to Whiskey Neat. I was starving--no breakfast, running on fumes--and since my job's in Patchogue, I figured I'd finally try them for lunch. First of all... happy hour on a Saturday from 12-6?! Uhhh hello?? In my Angelina from Jersey Shore voice. And if you pay cash, you get the discount. Say less. They've got a fabulous small plates menu. I started with the French onion soup--ooey gooey mozzarella, cheese pull was undefeated. Soup was delicious too. I haven't had French onion in ages and it really hit. Then I had the pulled pork slider, which was really good, but BABY... those short rib croquettes? To. Die. For. I also had to get my classic deviled eggs. A little heavy-handed on the paprika, but still solid. Drinks were half off, so of course I indulged. Started with an espresso martini because I needed something to jumpstart my day. Then I had a French martini because duh--I'm a French girl ‍. That one was good. Finished with my classic cosmo. Not gonna lie, I've had better, but it did what it needed to do and helped me forget my troubles for a couple hours. Also great playlist of music. I got there and they were playing Ska. Love me some Reel Big Fish and No Doubt. Mixed with some Motown and Bob Marley. Made me remember the good old days.

I've been to Main Street Patchogue a few times before and I'm always amazed at how it's now like Huntington, with tons of eateries, bars and places to hear live music. It was a busy late Spring Friday night and my cousin told me if we were there just two weeks later (ie, post Memorial Day), there would have been lines to get in anywhere. So make resos! I made one easily earlier that day and when we arrived around 7:30, it was not packed, but it is pretty loud in there even half full. Our waiter, Jonathan, expertly took such great care of us from start to finish, even taking my father's dad jokes in stride. There's a solid cocktail menu, but I had a couple glasses of a better-than-decent prosecco. My cousin loved his espresso martini. For food, count on a couple respectable vegan entrees and I went with the Japanese eggplant with cashew ricotta. The eggplant is delicious, slightly sweet with a creamy rather than chewy (thank god) texture. The cashew ricotta is also tasty, but I do think it needed to be blended a bit more to remove the slightly grainy texture (the cashews might have needed more soaking). My father loved his French onion soup and pastrami sandwich. Separate paragraph for the fries. They deserve it. I'm glad we ordered these to share- it's an enormous platter of them. I appreciated that they were salted perfectly. I appreciate restaurants that can make satisfy a variety of preferences and dietary restrictions. The vibe here is festive and vibrant and a great choice for groups and families.

I'll say the cocktail program in this "Patchogue-chic" spot is solid and fantastic; Laura has poured me great drinks with good convo. Past nights Anthony showed great knowledge and skills behind the bar and one night readjusted my understanding of the history of the building (which I dig, I love that Shands General store was actually the oldest building in town and I'm glad it's a nod back to that, with brick house stepping out and its' sign remaining on the back of the building) I should say that basically, for the majority, the front of the house is great; Very few exceptions there but they do exist. A while back I had wanted a fresh pasta and to show someone the place, but Shands had beef Wellington on the menu and it's one of my favorites that you really don't see everywhere or splurge for often. So there it was, I knew my order, started with a French onion and short rib soup, but this had ZERO SHORT RIB and was pretty lack luster, & come to think of it, one of the least appealing French onion soups I've had, real unfortunate; the crouton/bread was so deteriorated it was as if it had been sitting in the broth for 2 days. A good French onion really should have the bread floated when broiling the cheese over the top to form a nice crust, instead the crouton was submerged and dissolved as the cheese was just a melty glob of what seemed to be presented more like a mozzarella than Gruyère or Swiss, but it had a sharpness in there I just don't know about this execution I guess... there was a lack of onion, and a lack of flavor, it needed depth which maybe the short rib gives it if "the chef is feeling generous enough that night " to include it. $20 soups for the both of us and only one of the bowls had any of the short rib, unfortunately for them, the douche who likes to post on Yelp is the one that didn't get any. butternut hummus was good... it came out looking like they dropped the bowl on the way over but no big deal My first time in, I had a heavenly, light and flavorful, melt you into a damn puddle, pasta dish; it was the Mafaldine at its best) Really miss those duck wings they sourced locally. Sad story about the local duck farm "Crescent". He had to euthanize his entire population due to a bird flu outbreak, they supplied 4% of the duck to the entire country but sadly had to close down at the end of january; the staff let me know and I had to research it quick. (I imagine this is an issue sweeping the nation as we've all seen egg prices explode) The prep that Shands did on those things... they were next level! Typically you'd think a duck wing would be a little less meat or a bit tougher than a chicken but they did really well making them so tender and heavenly, impressive work honestly; maybe they can pay homage with some other type... I'd try some ostrich wings... it would probably be like a bbq rib or something... I digress. On to the main show, the Wellington... The portion was indeed large, it was a nice cut of meat but this really should have been showcased better. I'm sure the staff at places like this think everything they do is perfect and I'm just a jerk for mentioning my dismay here on Yelp, but they served a beef Wellington where the inside of the puff pastry crust was soggy... the outside crust was cooked but a great Wellington has a FLAKY crust, this wasn't that. At this crazy price your beef Wellington should be perfect or at least satisfying. The rest of the technique on the dish was fine, it had the right stuff which shockingly I've had wellingtons where they didn't do the mushrooms or didn't do the prosciutto layer so I appreciated that. I'm also pretty sure they used Duxelles and cooked them down wonderfully which is an easy step to miss that could ruin everything. Wellington ain't easy to perfect, I myself don't work well with puff pastry and I cannot even make a halfway decent Wellington but in my humble opinion, this wasn't too great either. Overall, would I suggest you go and spend your own $300 on this meal? No. I can't tell you that your money is well spent here. I've been to countless cheaper, nicer, and tastier places that don't have pretension baked into the price. Long Island can be a wasteland sometimes. Good meals I've had here included things like the hanger steak, pasta dishes, duck wings, Brussels and hummus.. maybe even their squash blossoms if I remember right... it's possible that wasn't them though. The brunch: steak and eggs were glorious, but even better were my nieces pancakes! Holy crap, how do they get them so thick yet so airy, fluffy, and dreamy? You can spend less if you take a train to Manhattan but have a drink here, those are never a miss.

I definitely recommend the outdoor area if you've got a nice enough night for it. The drink variety won't blow your pants off, but it's got something for everybody and at prices that won't blow your pants off either. Although I didn't get a chance to try any of the food, from what I saw though it looked like good bar fare, and I in particular was eyeing the pizza. There's no dedicated parking lot, but there is some decent parking along the side streets nearby that shouldn't give you too much issue.
