The Harbor Diner has always been here in Egg Harbor City for as long as I can remember. The food is okay. Sometimes it's good. The pies and cakes are over the top. I was in town for business and brought my mother along for the trip; I passed by this place on the way back to the motel from work and decided to give it a shot. My mother got the crab cake sandwich, and I got the crab imperial en casserole; it was so great we went back a second night in a row. The food was a THOUSAND times better than the $80 bill I spent at an "upscale" restaurant a few miles away. I stopped here on my way back to PA from Atlantic City. Great little dinner. Affordable. I had the Italian Grilled Chicken lunch special with cream of chicken orzo soup, mashed potatoes/gravy, Mac and cheese, and a roll. I also ordered a side of harbor fries. All that was only $13. I had a Greek salad and it was really good. I usually get Greek salads at diners. It's usually ok at most places, but I have to say, it was really good here. The dressing was very good. My husband got the creamed chipped beef and he said that was really good as well. We aren't that close to this diner, but whenever we are in the area, we will definitely stop by again. The prices weren't that bad either. It was quick and friendly service. We never had to ask for a refill on our drinks, the waitress just kept them coming. read more

I had breakfast at the Harbor dinner. The service was good.The food was good. My omelette was tasteless. I ordered a bagle with my omelette. The waitress asked if I would like cream cheese and I said ok. On my bill I was charged almost two dollars for a small container of cream cheese. This is why they lost me as a customer. Went to the diner on Thursday April 4, 2019 with my Mother. When we first came in the diner, the hostess was checking out a guest. We would have waited for her to finish and been seated but she told us to sit down and she would get us a menu. She never came to our table once we seated ourselves. The waitress Kelli, came by and gave us our menus and was very pleasant. Long story short, we ordered our food, which was great by the way, and I went to check out. Now the hostess was on the phone and she looked aggravated that I came up and she reluctantly got off of the phone. She did not ask how our experience or food was nor when I paid did she thank us for stopping in. If it wasn't for our waitress Kelli, I would have went off. There needs to be some changes with the hostess staffing if she doesn't like communicating with customers. Customer service is key. read more

My family and I have been regulars at this diner for years. A few nights ago I ordered my favorite salad to go and there was a chewed piece of gum in my salad. I was absolutely horrified!! My husband and me brought the food back and they only wanted to credit us for the salad with the gum in it as if it was ok to eat anything else that came from there. We handed them the food and finally got our money back. The owner was in the kitchen and was notified. He did not even apologize or offer an explanation. He made it seem like it was no big deal. Posted a picture and the description of what had happened on Facebook and tag the restaurant in it. They commented accusing me of lying and said it was my gum in the salad and that I just wanted something for free!! It was a lame cover up!! This is just a really bad diner. I was hoping it would be one of those really good little diners you can find classic homemade dishes at....but no. I got angel hair pasta with marinara sauce and meat balls and had to send it back. The sauce was so sweet I couldn't eat it. I had taken a bite of a meat ball, and when they brought me the dish back again I realized that it was the same meat balls as the previous dish! They had just rinsed it off! Disgusting! I can recommend the pork loin and baby limas. Their soups are extremely well done and the prices are very reasonable . Dinner for 2 with soup and salad and soft drinks included was only 27.00.
