The best sushi I believe in the AV. Priced right and excellent food. The Leo roll is epic. Flavors burst in your mouth!

Love their sushi!!!!! We go often and it's the only place we go for sushi in the AV. Only complaint is you wait forever to get the check and at least 3 people will walk by and see you are clearly waiting. I'm in a hurry a majority of the time. I like to get in and then out. Which is typically what any server would want to keep tables turning i.e. More tables more tips. When I was a server you dropped the check off after a couple bites so the customer is never waiting on the server to leave. Tip amount decreases if so. read more

Well...Hmm. Ok, so to start off on a positive note, my visit here was great. Their fish was outstanding. Very excellent cuts of meat. I have eaten at a lot of sushi places and this one definitely sticks out to me the most...but not so much because of their amazing fish... ...because there was lemon juice and soy sauce pre-drenched over everything we ordered. :( Honestly I came here because this place has such good reviews on yelp...and perhaps this is the best place to go for sushi in Palmdale. But I don't know...there is definitely something to note here. I don't like having the natural delicious flavor of the fish MASKED by soy sauce and lemon juice! I got this awesome, perfect looking salmon roll....and I just can't get the thought of lemon juice out of my head for it. It just tasted LIKE LEMONS. I wish this had been noted somewhere on the menu so I could have asked for my fish plain. Or maybe even offer the seasonings on the side or something. Very disappointing. I was in town to visit family. I wanted to have sushi for dinner so They took me here because it was the most decent sushi in the area. (Sadly it is the most decent compared to the other local ones) first of all I am a restaurant owner myself (3 total). The first impression is Very important. This place should replace their hostess, matter of fact the cashier too. Both of their faces looked miserable (it was written all over their faces) my party walked in, one person from my party of 4 stood right infront of them for over a minute plus. 3 staff and no acknowledgement from any of them! If these were my staff and you as a customer was treated this way. Say goodbye to your job. It infuriates me the lack of personality towards the customers! I had to literally stepped in and made it vocal to them that we needed a table for 4 plus one highchair. One finally looks up at me (with her rolled eyes ) and asked for how many? I replied kindly. She said "wait". Really? Wait? I had to walk away before I said something to her. I sat down she walked over and ask "did you want to wait? It's 45 minute wait." At this point We were so hungry and it was already 730. We decided to wait. Finally our table was ready. I asked for a highchair. After 10 minutes of waiting I went and found myself a highchair. Our server was nice but didn't really come back again after we got our food. We had to flag her down. The rolls came out really quick. This is not how sushi is suppose to be made. If you are an actual REAL sushi lover you will KNOW exactly what I mean. These rolls were huge! Sushi rolls are not meant to be rolled that large! But then again we live in America where every food is "supersize". Real sushi are small rolls, perfectly small bites so you can enjoy every aspect of it, from the rice to the seaweed to the fish. The rolls had wayyyyy to much rice on it and they overly stuff it with the crab mix. I was told if it wasn't that size then the l people will complain that it's not enough. This is exactly why Palmdale does NOT have a good sushi place to go eat at. The only thing that makes this place different from the other sushi restaurant is that they don't really smothered their rolls with alot of sauce on top. Like mayo or eel sauces. (Which is disgusting!) I can tell fish is not fresh. They are frozen and thawed. If you know the taste of fresh fish, it basically feels so soft it 'melts' in your mouth! I rather drive an extra 45 minutes to the valley to have sushi. The price is very affordable here. Welp you know what they say.... You get what you paid for. Lol! If the owner reads this. Sir, your hostess suck. She needs a personality, a pretty face doesn't always work. I know my review probably wouldn't even hurt your business since I see that you're place is the "best" in town. The Beef Yakisoba is EXTREMELY good. I have found it difficult to find Yakisoba on par with what you find in Japan, but they have done it! It is brought out to you on a hot sizzling skillet! If you like Yakisoba definitely check this place out! Now if they only made something equivalent to Pepper Lunch! read more

Favorite sushi restaurant so far in the AV! Great service and delicious food.

We came in for lunch and ended up getting the AYCE sushi at the bar. I was really impressed! IT was quiet in the restaurant because we were the first ones there when it opened and everyone was friendly, helpful, and really attentive. I had the ono, shrimp, octopus, tuna, and albacore. Of those, the octopus is the only thing I wouldn't reorder. It was good, but really chewy and that really turned me off. The tuna, albacore, and shrimp were all delicious but my favorite had to be the ono. It was incredible!!! WE also tried the Alaska roll and the Leo roll. The Alaska was good, just nothing so special it really stuck out to me. We then asked the chef to surprise us, and after a few preparatory questions he was off making us a roll, the Leo roll. It was delicious!!! It was sweet and spicy and just really good!!! read more

Harbor is a great place to get sushi in the AV. I have been the twice and both times got the all you can eat, which is very inclusive (pretty much everything except for sashimi) and reasonably priced. The fish they use is very fresh and always looks and tastes good. They have several special rolls and a wide variety of standard sushi. The place is set up pretty standard with a large sushi bar and several tables. I highly recommend this place if you want good, high quality sushi. read more

Overall disappointed with the food, service was ok but my Ono sushi was NOT good. Miso soup was delicious but everything else was not good.

Went at lunch time..... staff was really nice.......sushi was great.......pomegranate martini was even better! Sushi chef was also nice!

Nice people. I guess I'm a quality over quantity kind of person. Goldfish in West Palmdale is far, far superior to Harbour or Big Tuna. All of the rolls I ordered (I didn't get all you can eat) had that mayonnaise, fake crab stuff in the middle. Goldfish doesn't use that. At least I have never seen it. In the Goldfish rolls there are lots of veggies and fish. The Ono is far far better at Goldfish. The price per roll is comparable. At the sushi bar they serve edamame without charging and give you ginger and wasabi without having to ask for it. The interaction with the sushi chefs is more personal. They take your order, not a waitress. You can see through glass the fish they are using to create the rolls instead of the wood barrier you sit in front of at Harbour. You just can't compare the quality, aesthetics and menu between the two restaurants. read more

The boyfriend and I were in Mojave last night working on a project at the makerspace when we decided to travel down to the AV for some sushi (very productive night). Our regular place was not open past eight (this was a Sunday), and Harbor was the only place that was well reviewed and opened, so on we went. It's a 40 minute drive down, and we made it into the restaurant at 8:20. The bar was packed- with a bunch of people chatting and not eating. The waiter explained (very politely) that the stop seating people for the all-you-can-eat sushi bar at 8:30. He said the wait was longer, but he would ask his manager if there was anything they could do. The manager let us sit at a table and order from the bar menu- something they do not do. We ordered all of our rolls at once. We got the sushi first, and then the rolls. The waitress came around during last call and pressured us into ordering a few more rolls, she explained that she felt bad that we didn't get to sit at the bar. We left completely stuffed. The sushi- we ordered 6pc each of salmon, tuna, red snapper, yellowtail, and spicy albacore. In addition to the sushi there was sashimi- about 4 huge chunks of each. I don't know if they normally do this- but it was great. The fish itself is the best I've tasted in the AV. The rolls- we ordered almost randomly, it was different not being able to ask the chef what he recommends. For the most part the rolls were great! The Leo was the best. Some of the rolls seemed bland- too much dressing overpowered the fish or the spicy tuna didn't have quite the kick- but overall it was an amazing meal. We will definitely be back! It will be hard to decide between Harbor and Big Tuna, but I think we are going to end up favoring Harbor. read more

Went here today for the first time with my bf for an early dinner and definitely recommend it!food was fresh and we did the ayce and its reasonably priced for dinner $30 a person. Our chief victor was nice and gave his honest opinion. My only thing is I dont like spicy food and I feel like 80% of the rolls have some spicy version of tuna albacore etc and I cant eat it. Personally I think the menu should have a choice between spicy or regular but other than that we'll for sure be back! read more

I've eaten here a handful of times now because it's the only sushi spot in the AV before Goldfish that I've actually been satisfied with. I don't even really order much from here, but everything I've tried, I have no complaints about. I like the set up here too, and the dimmed lighting makes it seem that much more intimate. Had a lunch bento got alot of food 10 piece Sushi and a spicy tuna roll and soup rice ans tempura for 10.95 im stuffed and it was delicious.

Having been here many many times since they opened we've been here for the last time - actually we walked out before being seated. Apparently there is a new rule: in order to sit at the bar half of your party must order all you can eat. The excuse we were given was "it makes it easier for the chef." I'm not exactly sure how having half of a party ordering off the all you can eat menu while the other half ordering off the whole menu makes it easier on the chef..... it's very apparent they are more interested in pushing their $30 all you can eat and feeding bs new "rules" instead of focusing on quality sushi. read more

This is my 'go-to' place for sushi even though it's an hour from my home. The sushi is always fresh and tasty, the sushi chefs will always make me a half order so that I can try more stuff, and many appetizers and soup are included. The only thing not perfect at this place is the wait.....on Fri and Sat nights there are sometimes 90 min + wait for the all you can eat bar - great value at @ $25. If you're not a sushi buff, they have great dishes, fabulous soups, salads and other items. read more

This is our go-to place for sushi. The wait staff are a little slow, but I always go for the AYCE, so I'm really not in a rush and the sushi chefs are very attentive. The sushi chefs are great, willing to make custom items and modifications. Fish is always really fresh and super delicious. Leo roll is definitely a standout, but the straight sushi is really good. Never had a bad time or a bad meal here. Can't say enough good things about this place. Hard to imagine going anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and go there if you haven't already; you just might see me there. read more

This is my boyfriend and my Go-To place for sushi since we tried it back a year ago. We got addicted to sushi and now we go here just about every time. The fish slices are pretty big, and the roll pieces can hardly fit in your mouth but it's more bang for your buck. We usually get the Rainbow and Tiger rolls along with other rolls, but will soon try the Bento combination boxes which I hear are great! Can't wait to try many more rolls and items on the menu. read more

The price for AYCE sushi was good. The sushi quality was amazing. I really love the salmon. They out so much salmon and rice to really make your stomach full. While my husband seemed to enjoy his sushi, as a non sushi eater this the bottom of the barrel. I was ignored and had to track down somone to order my meal. I ordered the chicken teriyaki plate which came with watered down miso soup and a salad that was lacking. After a 20 minute wait for my plate I was met with chicken that was rubbery and bland. Definitley will not return. Sushi zen is far more considerate of non sushi eaters. read more

I was very excited to try this place. I ordered food. Waited, waited, waited and waited some more. About 10 other people ordered after us And they were getting their food. People walked in to place an order to go and they got their food before us! I waited a good 45 min and still no food. Mind you we went in at 1130am! There was no lunch rush yet! We were hungry and tired of waiting. They seriously have their priorities screwed up. Never coming here again. And definitely not recommending it to anyone I know. read more
