Love this place. It's only the second time in 4 years that I've been here but I decided to come back during my weekend stay-cation. We came in around 3-4 ish so it was slow and plenty of seating (which was awesome !) Our sever fabi was absolutely great , will defiantly come back to have her as our server ! My friend had the twisted Mac and cheese and she loved it And I had the chickens salad which was really good the lemon balsamic vinaigrette was amazing. Overall great experience. Visited this restaurant for dinner to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday and Aunty's birthday - the service by our waiter was nothing less then exceptional we were very impressed. We wanted to split an entree because for how HUGE their portions are, and so they served them on two different plates, which was great! Very accommodating. On a weekend, Hard Rock Cafe is usually rocking hard and the wait staff can get behind pretty quick. Food: Mac and Cheese - Excellent! Not as flavorful as the best I've tried in Waikiki, but it can definitely hang with them. Burgers - The gem of the restaurant in my opinion. It can be amazing at times but I had a few times where it was just okay. Drinks - Your standard drinks on a Waikiki restaurant. Nothing special. Service: They can fall behind easily when it gets busy, but other than that they are friendly and personable. We came here last week while our friends were visiting Oahu. This place has a great location, is very spacious and modern, but unfortunately DOES NOT VALIDATE and the service isn't the the fastest...it's actually r.e.a.l.l.y. slow! ATMOSPHERE: They sat us at the deck overseeing Kalakaua...on a beautiful sunny day it would have been perfect...but it was really windy so it got really cold really fast. The bathroom is gorgeous, it's the nicest bathroom i've ever been in at a restaurant. The ceilings are decorated with all sorts of guitars and the chairs are really comfortable. SERVICE: When our waiter took our orders he didn't write them down so I figured he was one of those pro waiters who had great memorization skills...wrong...after WAITING for our MEALS for OVER AN HOUR, he brought out a California Burger instead of the California BLT I was really upset because we had already waited for so long...as it turns out my BLT came shortly after...our waiter didn't apologize until maybe half way through my meal. I would suggest getting a notepad ...it might be of some help. I know the atmosphere is supposed to be ROCK, but that doesn't mean service should be lacking. The food is expensive and not worth the quality, in my opinion. I would maybe consider coming late night for entertainment/club/bar options, but as for the food, I doubt I will voluntarily eat here again. I tried a wide variety of the items, but nothing really stood out except for maybe the creme brulee. The guitar decorated ceiling is cool (look for the ukulele and the banjo) and the environment is great with historical Hawaii rock memorabilia. A rock-fan visitor will definitely like this place. Hard Rock is our go to for burgers and beer on Saturday nights. The Tennessee BBQ burger is this month's special, dry rub, barbecue sauce, coleslaw, pickles, cheddar cheese, and deep fried onions. Need I say more? This burger is a masterpiece. Be sure to try their artisan fries. My favorite is the furikake fries served with Sriracha mayo dipping sauce. All I can say is that everything should come with Sriracha mayo. We love staying for dessert and listening to EMKE, the regular Saturday night band. Came here with a local friend on a Sunday night, for dinner and drinks. We opted to not seat ourselves at the bar, waited for one of 3 hostesses to sit us. She sat us in a tall top at the bar. No one greeted us for at least 5 minutes, our waitress introduced herself and gave us menus. It was happy hour so we ordered a drink, the drink came fast but it was too sugary for my liking. We ordered a pulled chicken sandwhich to split. A different server brough out our food, it was the wrong sandwhich. We let the waitress know, we had to yell for her to even come to our table. She gave us attitude saying we said something different, and brought out the other sandwhich a few minutes later. Service was not good. There were a large number of staff members on shift and it took a long time to get any service. The food was expensive and bland. The good part was the live band and cool people watching. You can def get a less expensive, better experience and food elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend. read more

Terrible experience here. First we were told it was a 45 minute wait (had a fairly large group). Over an hour later we hadn't been seated. They called us in only to make us wait another 20 mins at the top of the stairs. The manager came by with free appies for the wait which made up for that. Everything was fine until we were finished our first round of drinks. Every single drink at the table was empty before they came around again to ask if we wanted another drink. And then the waiter missed taking orders from two people at the table. One of us got the wrong meal (ordered chicken, got pork). My vegetable fajita had huge broccoli florets (who puts broccoli in a fajita?). We were in a rush to leave because the whole thing took so long and the bills took a while (understandably since it was a large group) but the waiter wouldn't let us pay at the bar to make things faster. And to top it off I didn't feel well after the meal. From beginning to end was just a disappointing experience. Too bad because Hard Rock is usually a great franchise. The service was horrendous. Went there for a late meal (flew in from California). Had to wait a couple of minutes for a table (no issues). It was what happened after that sucked After getting seated not a single waiter/waitress came over to help us. To make matters worse there were tables around us that were getting service. The servers would look at us as they passed by helping other tables and still nothing. Only after asking to see the manager (after we got up to leave) did we get some sort of response. I visited the "World Famous," Hard Rock Cafe for lunch the other day and wasn't very pleased with the food. I ordered the Legendary Burger, which was very "UNLegendary." Sorry guys, but I'm a burger fanatic, so if you're going to tag something as "LEGENDARY," it better be freakn' awesome. I had the burger with Furikake Fries, which was a good idea that wasn't presented very well. Fries were soggy and cold. I could go on and on about the rest of me and my girlfriend's meals, but I'm not going to bother. Hard Rock Cafe food deserves Zero Stars, but thanks to the waiter, Andrew, we'll dish em out Two Stars.. He was really awesome and explained everything very well with a touch of humor and always checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Probably the best Hard Rock Cafe experience I've had - ever.... and I've been to quite a few. You're greeted by friendly staff in the downstairs retail store before making your way up the stairs. As you go up the stairs, the first thing you notice is the ceiling: completely lined with guitars! The ambiance is great. The bar feels a bit more like a downtown club than a Hard Rock, but as you quickly look around, you know exactly where you are. Rock memorabilia is everywhere and with a Hawaiian theme. The music the night we were there was heavy on the late 90's, which for a Millennial, is quite nostalgic :D. Live music later is great. The service was surprisingly superb. I probably prejudged our waiter by the way he looked (like he hadn't taken a shower in a week), but he was awesome. He made the experience relaxed for this family with 4 young kids. The food was above average to great, depending on what you get. Drinks are exceptional. If you don't like loud music, skip this spot, but otherwise this is a Waikiki must visit. read more

Did not eat here, but bought the obilgatory Honolulu Hard Rock Cafe paraphernalia. This great looking cafe really rocks! The merchandise is on the first floor with the restaurant on the second floor. I checked in on YELP and was offered a YELP discount. Be sure to get the YELP discount. The walls and ceiling are covered with life size guitars and the words "Party on" and "Air guitar" just seem to flow from your lips. This Waikiki location should be a must stop for every tourist or local that is determined to check off visiting every Hard Rock Cafe in the Universe on your bucket list. Rock ON! read more

In reference to my previous (3 star) review where I said the "food is ok, but nothing to write home about", the manager took this comment to heart and contacted me to help improve the product his restaurant delivers. I must say, I was quite impressed. Anytime a company reads the comments by customers and makes an attempt to improve service as a result is a sign of mature business practices centered on continuous improvement. Best burgers in Waikiki so far! Beats cheeseburger and Dukes. Food: Fairly wide variety of stuff, much like a Red Robin or other medium class chain. They cook to order their burgers which is great. The fries are tasty and crisp. Sandwiches are big and good. The drinks are decent and with a seven day a week happy hour at 10pm, you cant beat that for a late night pit stop between shopping and dancing! Atmosphere: Its a bit dark and moody, with lots of neon and colored lights to make the place more fun and almost a nightclub feel. there are plenty of seats as the place is big. and they are accommodating if you want a window seat or near the AC if your not used to the climate. Probably the best part is the live bands! I mean, you get to listen to rock music while eating being played live by some really fun guys. We had one band covering Led zeppelin and they did a mash up where it lead into the theme to Gilligan's isle. I mean, how epic is that? I was happy :) Price: The price is about that as other medium class burger chains. But because the service is good and the food is really well prepared, I feel its value way more than the other burger joints nearby. Service: The three times I've been there the staff have been fun, upbeat, and attentive. If your splitting something, they will bring it out pre-separated for the two of you, which to me shows class.
